how is that suppose to run modern games?
stopped playing dragons dogma 2 and refunded monster hunter wilds because they didnt run on my 4070 TI
>>
>>730737272
by using linux instead of windows
>>
>>730737272
the only difference between modern games and the old games is that they were made by lazy niggers who let raytracing do all the work
everything is stagnating and that will force a return to raster
shit performance is actively hurting sales now more than it would to get the lighting guys to do their fucking jobs
>>
>>730736602
I have 5070 ti but still think 8gb should be enough for years unless you use PT. Maybe this shit and RAM disaster will force devs to actually optimize.
>>

Linux is literally worse with vram usage dumbshit. Vram has nothing to do with system clogging system RAM.

What is the lore behind every door being a gateway to a gangbang of enemies you have no hope of defeating 2 hours into the game?
>>
>>730737091
Because the game world doesn't fill 2 billion cubic miles of empty space with encounters meant solely to give you levels and gear like open world tends to these days.
>filename
This is exploring. If you find every door you open has shit you can't handle, you've found an area you're not ready for yet. Explore somewhere else. Exploration doesn't mean you get to pick what quest to complete at will out of the whole game.

At the end I let myself be sacrificed to The One Who Waits. I mean, I'd be dead not for him, and my second chance in life was only to benefit him. That was the deal, I work for you, a GOD, to bring you back; I'm nothing more than a pawn and that is the whole reason I'm alive.

Saving your cult be damned, they all worshipped you, an extention of the arm and will of The One Who Waits and therefore for him to do whatever he wishes with.

I was a tool that did its job. It makes sense for me and is the canon ending in my eyes.

So why did you fight him? Was it because it's a game, or because you really believed you were doing the right thing?

I did reload to fight him but couldn't give a shit anymore and was filtered by the two cats.

Sanzaru was a garbage studio. I'm still pissed about how they handled sly 4. It's as if they understood nothing about what make the first 3 games good and wrote a horrible script, had horrible art direction, and horrible level design. Genuinely it was awful.
>>
>>730736286
Pour one out for Sanzaru. Asgard’s Wrath 2 barely had time to breathe before getting the axe. Meta clearly had no long-term plan for any of these studios. They just scooped them up like trading cards and ditched them the second they stopped being shiny.

AI bubble will eventually collapse. And then ram and GPU prices will go back to normal. Generated slop games will disappear.

When do you think AI will go away and we can have developers putting soulful effort into games again?
171 replies and 27 images omitted. Click here to view.

>>730732931
AI will never go away, but the bubble will burst in 1-3 years and prices for hardware will stabilize somewhere lower than where they are now.
Right now we're in a highly speculative environment.

Is that really true though? OpenAI is profitable if you remove training costs for new models. Gemini just inked a deal with Apple to power Siri (big deal). Claude is expanding into workplace automation which is where the actual money is.

Perhaps the periphery of tiny AI startups and the gigafactory frontier models may not be super profitable, but there is a lot of money being made.

I think a lot of this is wishful thinking from people hoping the cost of RAM goes down.

The pixel ones are pretty great. The turn-based 3D slop just isn't very good. Sometimes less is more.

Good.

I don't hate turn-based, but it gets so annoying and boring after a few hours. Not to mention that literally every game feels and plays nearly the same.
That said, why do developers consistently fail to make this genre more interesting?

First floor STS is very low variance and almost every encounter can be assessed as an HP tax in exchange for a semi-predictable reward. This becomes more exaggerated the deeper you get in cycles and even optimal defend/strike draws won't let you clear fights damageless.

Nob in particular is an anti-greed boss. He's there to punish players that immediately chase relics without drafting tempo (attacks), especially players that chase relics while drafting early value (skills/powers). For example, drafting another defend will bring regular encounter damage taken closer to 0, but it will increase Nob's damage if you encounter him. This concept works best on the first floor, because players that greed hard early on without being punished would be likely to smash a similar concept miniboss on later floors with sheer card value.

The reason the boss feels cheap is because it is cheap, bosses like nob and the time eater that hard counter certain cards turn the game into a knowledge check. They're artificial difficulty.

>>730734887

Image is wrong. Dark Eldar fight for himself, he is under someone superior for protection, because shanking one gang mamber trigger gang response, but are under no illusion that guy above them will sacrafice them without second thought and guy under them is planning how to overtake them. Every dark eldar after all is planning how to overthrow and take position of dude in higher position.
They 100% know they are assholes and know they can't trust members of their own race. Only 3 trusted types in dark eldar society are alien mercenaris because they are not dark eldar and are prized as bodyguards, Incubi because they are super autistic about discipline so they likely won't backstab you just make you pay extra for it, and haemonculli because they are weirdo so thei will keep their word for shit and giggles(untill they don't or decide that way you blinked offended them and now it's their life purpose to fuck you up in worst way they can imagine).

Play with biters off, you gain nothing from them so turn them off untill you get a grasp of the game
Use the massive map to space out your different productions so you can later scale them up
Cap your chests so you don't over produce expensive shit you only need a bunch at a time
Calculate how much resources you craft vs what you need, the game tells you everything, its up to you to calculate this

Try to plan out the best format for production sets with the blueprints. Like try to plan out the best way to set up furnace arrays and expand it out to fit the expected capacity you need. Try to plan out how things are spaced out it in your factory like how any of your assemblers are in relation to the furnances. Spacing out areas in your factory also helps give you more breathing room. You don't have to cram everything.
>>
>>730736847
They dont? I'll try it then, they've destroyed my base multiple times and I'm more interested in expanding my base than dealing with them rn

I'm trying to plan out my base but this is my first factory building game and everything gets confusing really fast, thanks for the tips though.
