Horror usually does best when some fucked up shit happens and it isn't explained, that helps with the horror; making it mysterious, chaotic, and unknowable even if the best minds try their best.Frankly I think we'd be disappointed if the sun/visitor thing ever got explained. Sometimes you can't know everything and can only make guesses.
