Other than requiring a government-issue ID, is there a socio-technical way to ensure the content is posted by a human?I want to create my own forum, with blackjack and hookers, with zero bots. But even if I personally invite known humans to it, as long as the users also can invite others it is possible that they'll "invite" bots. Is there a way to prevent that?
>>107545311I would help you but idk what is a forum with blackjack and hookers, never seen something like that
Just IP rangeban Russia, India, China, Israel and the entire continent of Africa. The creatures dwelling there are not humans in the first place, so nothing of value will be lost.

Literally 1 week in and the plug is barely workingFaulty unit or shitty product?I also seem to have found out why my laptop becomes slow when using certain chargers despite supporting 45w. It seems to only like 20V/2.25A charging, where it sits below 2A to get around 40W, but some chargers like to do do 15V/3A charging. The 15V/3A rate causes it to slow down instantly seemingly
Some woodworking stuff arrived last week, tested it out with a few hours of sanding, here's my review:>vertical clampsthey're not exactly premium looking or feeling, but they're not bad either, especially for ~7€ a piece. My German Bessey one-handed clamps (made in China) or my German Festool or Bosch T-track clamps (made in Vietnam, probably both from the same factory, as the only difference is the color of the handle and that festool has their logo printed on the handle quite nicely) look and feel nicer, but not that much nicer. Those are somewhat of a different beast, since one-handed and T-track needs some kind of precision, so it's not 100% comparable, but still, assuming they hold up to my abuse (I think they will), I love them. 4/5The horizontal clamps on the other hand work, but here their price (~4€) really shows. It's a steel threaded bar, directly into an aluminum piece, that's probably not gonna work for long, especially since you've got to really tighten them in order to work. Also, they've got somewhat of a tendency to work themselves up, so I've already sanded a good part of the nice, red elox away. And at the locations where the tread goes through the Al and where it's attached to the clamping blocks, there's small Al, steel and chrome plating shavings piling up, which you don't really want to have, when you're trying to sand some nice furniture. All in all, as said, they work and they are cheap, but I won't buy them again. 3/5But what else to get? https://bessey.de/en-gb/bessey-tool/products/clamping-tools/clamping-elements-for-multifunction-tables/horizontal-fixture-clamp-wns-set-mft is probably fantastic, but I can't really justify the price for /diy/ use.Oh, and that dowel jig?Arrived quickly, haven't tried it yet. 5 out of 5 stars!!!1!! *emoji*
>>107545435Thank you, that's really helpfulMy shopping credit expires early Jan. I was hoping the Christmas sale wuuld be better than the current one we have but it looks like they're the same, so I guess it'll make no difference. I'll still wait till the 16/17th though
It's freetards' fault Linux doesn't have software.Linux is a nightmare to distribute software for so developers avoid it like the plague.MacOS has 5% market share and is similar to Linux under the hood yet runs FL Studio, AutoCAD, Office, Photoshop natively.Freetards, you could have this too if you weren't so stubborn in your retardedness. Before you start to seethe, Linus Torvalds has the same opinion on this matter.
>runs FL Studio, AutoCAD, Office, PhotoshopI literally don't give a single fuck. GNU/Linux just works for me, it gets the job done. The three times I tried to use Windows I had bad experience. The last one (Windows 8.1) was complete garbage, slow as fuck and bloated to the core. I imagine that Win 10 and 11 must be even worse.
>>107542505This.I want none and have no need for any of those programs.>FL StudioRun fine in Wine, but Reaper and LMMS are just as good.>AutoCADFreeCAD, Blender with Plugins, and BR-CAD>OfficeLibreOffice>PhotoshopGIMP
>MatLabGNU Octave
>>107542424Why not just use Windows or Mac instead of porting those proprietary garbage to GNU/Linux?
>>107542424>FL Studio, AutoCAD, Office, PhotoshopJust admit that all these companies got filtered because they're a bunch of fucking retards getting by selling software to other fucking retards that are too retarded to realise the software they're using was built by retards. You are the most incompetent people on the planet if you got filtered by Flatpaks, Snaps, AppImages, static binaries, containers, etc. You have so many fucking options to distribute your software on Linux. How are you that stupid?

Every single year AI companies are spending hundreds of billions of dollars making barely any revenue in return. When will AI turn a profit? How do you lose $143B of tax payers' dollars in just a couple of years?

Early 2020s: China enacts laws severely crippling the internet for people unless they show IDJul 2025 (Online Safety Act): UK enacts laws neutering the internet for people unless they show ID; remains in effect despite initial outcryDec 2025 (Online Safety Amendment): Australia enacts laws neutering the internet for people unless they show ID; likely to remain in effect despite current outcryApr 2026? (KOSA, made it into the House recently): US enacts laws neutering the internet for people unless they show their IDsEU has similar shit on the table iirc, they're the fucking EU they love regulationThis will get worse, and this won't go away, at least not in the way you want it to - it'll be an impossibly difficult sell because "THINK OF THE CHILDREN!" Security theater is notoriously difficult to reverse, just compare flying pre and post 9/11. This'll probably be more of the same. Again, UK already had a petition, the gov there just laughed in everyone's faces. Only way any of this is really "going away" is, like, the internet itself going extinct. Not just this btw, also got countries banning Chinese social media (which in many cases can ironically be less restrictive), Android banning sideloading, etc. This won't get kids playing outside again. They'll just watch only the government-OK kid-friendly TV, YouTube Shorts, and AI. Sheeple will still use a heavily policed internet and talk to Amanda the AI HR Lady because "brain need dopamine".
