Nah, not really. There really isn't anything new in the current ML world from a mathematics perspective. The same exact scaling problems that doomed multi-layer perceptrons in the 80s will doom these systems now that they've effectively sucked the internet dry in terms of training data. How do I get out of "desktop support" bros? At least I have a job, but holy shit even after a BS and a slew of certs and homelabs I can't find anything. I get paid 20 dollars an hour for junior sys admin work and not just resetting passwords. I do networking/on-prem server admin, policies, automation etc. It hurts my soul to work with idiots all day knowing that I'm the lowest paid person in the entire organization. Just tough it out?

i really like linux (fedora especially) and it comes very close too, but i find myself using mac the most. mostly because there is more compatible software for my needs and also i like the convenience of ADP that they implemented few years ago, only big tech that offers that type of data security when it comes to cloud.

i ditched my entire PC "everything" and got a macbook and have since bought a mac mini as well, its objectively a better end user experience
it does what i want it to do and nothing more
by that i mean you can do pic related

turn off windows updates entirely and compare the processes
on macos i simply go to update, open the settings for updates, and turn the little buttons to "off", and it never does anything i dont ask ever again, i will update when i want to and never when i dont want to
it doesnt give me entire screen pop-ups telling me about upgrading

but its not the updates themselves that are the problem, its that you as the end user dont have control over it, microsoft makes it overly difficult to do what should be as simple as a toggle on/off, and what was previously that easy

i tell my macbook to not update, it doesnt update and doesnt bother me further about it
the same applies to many attributes of it, it does only what i want it to do

linux is very much so in line with this as well, and linux is a great option for a lot of people, its not suitable for me and my uses unfortunately
part of the other things i wanted to move away from involve desktop pc hardware, i just dont like that entire type of device anymore, this i greatly prefer

Should have known better than to get my hopes up for something working out. Can't fucking believe it, I've tried at least 5 sennheiser headphones over the years, every single one of them has easily fit my head. They can all telescope down far below my years. But not this fucking one. For some unexplainable godforsaken reason this one just stops earlier with the pad halfway down my ear.
