Over the years I have been noticing more and more people recording everything and anyone with no regard.
I dont want to be part of tiktok or instagram short form videos or weird interview things. Especially when you are in places where you cannot just walk away like on airplanes.

Is there something out there that makes it so when a camera is pointed at you, the footage becomes useless? Like some high power invisible light that fries the sensor or a jammer or anything really. I am tired /g/.

just be smelly and crazy people will leave you alone and if they dont just beat the shit out of them or throw your shit on them they probably wont ever film again

Blasting copyright music would make the audio worthless.

When you're in a public space you have no expectation of privacy, and whoever wants to film, can. You can however, just be an ugly low value male who is repulsive enough no one would want to get you on film. You seem to be well-ahead on that one

Just recently saw my friend buy himself a laptop to connect to computer to play games and browse the net with. And he said he likes having it for taking mobile, too.

Are desktop pcs like mines outdated? Am I'm in the wrong or is it them that's the problem?

Not leaving your desk isn't even it.
Desktops can be upgraded and the major selling point to them (why they occupy the real estate) is they can be silent or much quieter than a laptop once you cross the passive/quiet cooling setup threshold for laptops.

Normies watching youtube and doing email or chess/bingo on their laptop can get away with tablets with a keyboard and not have to deal with noise.
The moment you want to run 3D games, any laptop capable of that will be a high frequency screecher from all the airflow passing through small vents.

Another thing worth mentioning is laptops inherently have a built-in uninterruptible power supply. If you're in the category of people who won't need anything better than a modern budget laptop, then it's extremely hard to beat one for the price even with desktop components even if you exclude a UPS and already include reusing a monitor.
Desktops are niche these days for a reason. The people who want/need a desktop have one and will continue to own one, but normies are just different.

>Are desktop pcs like mines outdated?
No they have their uses for specific power needed that laptops can't provide but if you aren't gaming for the newest AAA slop a laptop now days will be enough

Yes. Your typical new unit bedroom is basically only big enough to fit a bed and bedside table, with a balcony/window on one side, and a sliding wardrobe on the other. Literally no space remaining for a computer desk.
>t. zoomer looking to move out
>>
It's the opposite, laptops seem like they've been getting squeezed by mobile and desktops. You have internet "for free" in your pocket without having to lug anything around, and it's good enough for what you end up doing while you're out and about. Why carry something extra which is so bulky? Admit it, you want to sit in a coffee shop and pretend to be productive while you doomscroll. It sucks to actually try to do anything on a laptop.
The only thing a laptop is good at is being moved between several docks, like splitting hybrid work between home/office. Then it's fine. But it's just a work thing, which your work probably buys so they can load security shit on, I don't know why people buy laptops for themselves. If I had one it would just sit on my desk.

The ReBar requirement kills the ONE niche it might've had - drop-in upgrade for systems from ~2016-2018 still running a GTX 1050 Ti or something, but that had a once decent 6th or 7th gen i7 or something.

They do treat people poorly, Steam made you give up your rights to sue them. They fought in French courts to stop digital resell. Valve is fighting in American courts over unfair practices as individuals don’t receive compensation or benefits.

They are criminals anon.

Because steam actually listens to its users? If you had told me in 2011 that I could play steam games like if they were consoles titles without microsoft, nintendo or sony, I'd tell you were a crazy console peasant yelling in the street.

Valve has an invested userbase and its extraordinarily hard to peel users away from a platform they are invested in. Valve knows this well, they spent billions on linux and almost two decades working to improve it and it has a 3% marketshare on steam even though windows 11 is horrible.

The LLM bubble wouldn't exist if White Chads like Balmer still ruled the industry. They wouldn't have been enraptured by the magic talking computer the way Indians are. They would've seen through the hype and realized that LLMs aren't actually that useful and that we shouldn't shove them into everything, let alone base our entire technology industry around them.

Pros: Ears and eyes closer to back of body, meaning less things can sneak up on you as most of your body is "in front of you". Who needs tables? Use your own back as table if you can't form a triangle with 2 other people. You can aim your poop.
Cons: You don't automatically have clear space "below you" when you look down, so working with stuff on the ground is harder. You have to beware of shooting your own ass with an arrow.

How do you justify writing code "by hands" now?
>muh vibe coding
This is totally different, let me explain: I've been a developer for more than a decade now, it never been a passion neither I hated it, when i went for this field it was purely for the joy of creation. I wanted to make websites and games.
I wasn't ready at all. Being a wagie, working 8hrs / day, dealing with bugs, frameworks, patterns. Keeping up-to-date to be least remplacable cog in an tireless machine.
I'm self-employed now, I have my free time, and now this joy is here again, ideas comes and can be turned into prototype in a minute.

I can't see myself writing a single line of code.
And in the next couple of years you won't even need to supervise any LLM

AdGuard allows arbitrary javascript in trusted filters. That includes user filters, without having to click 3 layers of "I'm not a retard" buttons. This uses #%# syntax. Here are some examples:
boards.4chan.org#%#if (location.pathname.includes('catalog')) { grecaptcha = true }
boards.4chan.org#%#if (performance.getEntries()[0].responseStatus == 404) { location.hostname = 'desuarchive.org' }

Additionally, because hostname redirection is explicitly out of scope of webRequest and declarativeNetRequest, and the adblockers using it, in general the easiest way to handle this without rewriting all links on all pages is simply:
x.com#%#location.hostname = 'xcancel.com'

You can use custom scriptlets in uBlock Origin to achieve the same effect, which I used to do, but it's tedious because you must load an external userResourseLocation, and on Firefox, this cannot be a local file. The AdGuard way is much simpler and saner and puts everything together at once.
I believe for most people, this kind of thing will completely obviate the need to run a separate userscript manager at all. This is a good thing for security because userscripts use in-band signaling to declare their scope and the most popular managers don't warn you when this changes. With adblockers, scriptlets or raw javascript, the scope is external to the script. But if you do use userscripts please at least disable auto updates on any site you log in to. I hope someone finds this useful.

Why should any of this be in a content blocker?
That's what userscripts are for.
>>
>>107762654
See >>100146442
Generally JavaScript filters are only for development and anything permanent is converted to a scriptlet. But there are a few one-off exceptions that notably uBlock's AdGuard converter will just ignore although I assume they have equivalent coverage from elsewhere or just don't care.
You can use :style() to apply CSS rather than as a selector which might be more useful to more people than small scripts. It would be a bit of a waste to load in a ton of extra code and introduce race conditions by using three different extensions for adblocking, userscripts, and userstyles, ne?

Additionally, AdGuard has better integration with the browser Dev Tools so you can use the element picker right from them, and properly catches script/scriptlet errors telling you whatever broke instead of just dumping shit in the console like uBlock Origin does. Much better for power users and filter developers in my opinion.
>>
Also if you install AdGuard Extra it works on Twitch ads, no reddit bot locking your thread wontfix.

The Turing Award is widely considered to be the Nobel Prize of Computer Science. When Ken Thompson, one of the original authors of the Unix operating system, accepted his Turing Award in 1984, his acceptance speech was a little bit different. He didn't just talk about some generalized computing theory. He also didn't talk about the future of computer science. Instead, he released a very dark and terrifying thought experiment onto the world. What if every single compiler was already irreversibly compromised? An original sin passed to every generation of compiler with no cure. He called it Reflections on Trusting Trust. It was the first example of a meta-back door, a virus so perfect that even complete code auditing couldn't catch it.

This is it. The end of personal computing, the end of gaming gpus.: No more rtx 6000, no more dedicated gpus, Nvidia will completely exit the consumer market. Told you that this was going to happen, one way or another. A single data enter dedicated to GAY-I brings more revenue than 100.000 individual consumers who buy GAYMER cards. Better scoop up a top of the line gpu now, while stocks last. There won't be any new cards coming, and yeah that applies to rtx 5000 super too.
