It's that time of year /K/ommandos! Were we reminisce the years that have past and look forward to the new one that is now unfolding! And that includes thinking up of goals for ourselves to achieve this year! You have been thinking of how to become a better /K/ommando right anon?

Anyway, I haven't seen one of these threads in a few years, so lets get one going. How do you rank against your fellow /k/omrades?

Bonus points if you can add stories about your achievements. Also maybe its time to update the board? Add a few more,

I started this thread before heading out on a hike! Nice little 5 mile treck with an old army ruck sack. Cooked some food, saw some pretty sights, sadly too many hikers for any plinking.

Here's my s/k/ore, sadly still part of the /k/avalry.....

It still applies, thats still a possible thing (in the US at least). I do think it'd be nice to have a version 2, especially with some stuff that could be considered /k/ post COVID, I feel thats kinda when /k/s cultural shift finalized itself.

Honestly, both. This was made when /k/ was even more poorfaggy, and mismatched milsurp will fit with a rugged aesthetic so I would say go for it.

The Thirty Years War but without any firearm, just knights and man-at-arms fighting each other. In essence, everything I hate about fantasy and the reason why I can't get hook by it. A world perpetually stuck in the mid to low medieval technological period when it comes to warfare.
I'm a sucker for 1700s men and women fashion and a sucker for 1400s and 1500s armours.

The fact that a president of a state could be kidnapped by SOF, doesn't it mean that nuclear war could be "won" against a nuclear power? Just send SOF, kidnap their president alongside his "nuclear football". Point a gun in the head of his wife and kids so he gives up the nuclear codes. Then proceed to nuke each airbase of that country and naval bases with nuclear bombers and SSBNs and the major cities of that country. This leaves only the patrolling SSBNs for launching a counter strike. But still, this "simple" specops mission would have transformed a massive, unmanageable nuclear exchange into a limited engagement that modern Ballistic Missile Defense (BMD) might actually be able to manage and thus win the nuclear war.

I kinda doubt there's a SIOP for nuking our own bases. So, having the football, the President, and a general with nuclear authority (somebody has to authenticate that it's actually the NCA reading the codes by reading their own codes) probably isn't enough.

That's a lie. The tech has been out for years. It simply isn't seeing mass adoption because of ridiculous levels of corruption and cronyism.

>>64747395
>Wait, so you want Power armor to just be another armored vehicle?
Conceptually, that's what all powered exoskeletons are, just in a smaller form factor. A suit standing between 76-84 inches would still be significantly more compact than a wiesel while needing only one operator and being able to carry fairly heavy weapons.

>>64747404
>Heat engines don't scale down well
And yet somehow motorcycles and mopeds still exist.
>>
>>64747430
>And yet somehow motorcycles and mopeds still exist.
Those engines weigh anywhere from as much as a small asian woman to as much as a lanky sunstarved software developer, and their power-to-weight ratios suck. That's without even factoring in the alternator you need into the weight. If it were as easy as shoving a motorcycle engine into a backpack someone would've done it already you tard.
>>
>>64747446
>If it were easy [...] someone would've done it already
This is an idiotic argument. You're presupposing that:
>the world is fair and everyone has access to all the resources they need to build whatever they can imagine at any time, or that those who fund new technologies are always fair and make sound judgements in what they choose to fund
>everything we have right now exists because it is "easy" relative to some arbitrary scale of difficulty, and that anything which does not meet this arbitrary criterion of difficulty is useless or impossible

Let me guess, you think your airforce needs more expensive higher performance aircraft.
You could get 5 of these fucks and arm them for the price of an empty KR-67.

Good IF you can select them in a good/neutral order, and that can be tricky or take time to zoom, also no going back if you missed the target you deselected.

>What type of aircraft do you want next?
If we want variety, like the other anon say, a supersonic bomber would make sense.
But the game could also use a different rank4 aircraft, dual engine, top level, like a super-Rafale, sacrificing stealth for performance (or price).

I would also not mind a hind-like helicopter.
Or go BIG and start with large aircraft.

What tools for self defense would you recommend for someone in Europe to have when shit goes down. There are black powder revolvers shotguns and rifles, but you can't buy them everywhere in Europe. There are crossbows and bows but what is really their capacity to defend, and of course air rifles, in some countries they are unrestricted in some countries they are cucked and they are a hassle to have around in the case of an emergency. Better yet what should everybody own, not just weapons, in case they want to survive more than 72 hours.

I really don't understand this because that amount of ammunition in OP is never going to be enough.

You'd need so much for it to be a pragmatic amount in an apocalyptic scenario that you should really probably just commit to a single kind of ammunition and tailor your guns around that round instead of trying to just get some ammo for a bunch of different calibers.
>>

I break my preps into categories

>Water.
Water is life. Store as much as you have the space for. FEMA guidelines are 1 gallon of water per person per day. I've got a couple of hundred gallons stored inside the house and up to another 1000 in a tank outside depending on recent weather. Even in an apartment you should be able to find space for two weeks of water.
Alongside your stored water have a means of purifying more. Boiling is an option but slow and energy dependent. Unscented bleach is an effective treatment option against bacteria and viruses but has a shelf-life of 6-12 months, powdered calcium hypochlorite (pool shock) is equally effective and lasts for a couple of years depending on how it's stored (both are ineffective against cryptosporidium). Water purification chemicals for camping (aquamira, micropur, iodine) have a longer shelf-life and depending on the chemical may work on crypto but are more expensive. Camping store water filters (e.g. Sawyer Squeeze) are convenient but most won't do anything against viruses. UV purification using either a Steripen or the SODIS method (pic rel) are arguably the best options.
>Food
If you can just buy in bulk what you normally eat day to day then that's the cheapest and most convenient option, but it's dependent on you eating a lot of shelf-stable foods like rice, pasta, oats, etc. If not, then you'll have to buy a few long-lasting foods to keep in the back of your pantry. MREs and dehydrated camping meals are great if you're going to be on the move but unnecessarily expensive if sheltering in place.
>Shelter
How do you plan to heat or light your home?
>Security
Guns obviously but also shit like reinforcing exterior doors or security film over the windows
>Medical
>Comms and information
Get a Baofeng radio, print some local maps off, etc

>>
The point of war is not K/D but to achieve your goals. If the Finnish goal was to remain independent, they won, if their goal was to keep their territorial integrity intact, they lost. That's all. If the Soviet goal was to conquer Finland, they lost, if their goal was to conquer a part of it and make them subservient politically they won.
