Is there even a way to do romance with an NPC without it being cringe as fuck?
In my experience, it worked fine between players, but every attempt to do that with an NPC was dropped pretty fast.

Depends on the group. If the people involved are willing to explore the theme, then they can do so and have fun, whether it is cringe or not.

Some people will say that text-only RP is better for romance, because you can more easily tune out the GM and players to focus on the characters. I've had romance plots in those, and I think some players are more comfortable with that format.

But I've also had some luck in-person. My first big campaign with friends, we had a running competition between two PCs who were interested in the same NPC. She had an instinctive, visceral connection to one, but shared values and ideas with the other. The guys fought hard to woo her. (And then I introduced a backup love interest for the one who was losing out). There was also a series of arcs with a third PC chasing after an NPC that tried to murder him. Eventually he freed her from mind control, won her hand with generosity, then her love with sincerity. A minor antagonist, turned ally, turned precious family member.

I'm running an into the odd campaign and I'm going to use some elemental magic as a base for the magic system.

It will have all the classics, but I want to add some more obscure or unusual elementals too.

So far I got the ideia of dividing wind and air into two different elemental groups.

One pushes stuff and makes tornados

The other is more like suffocation, oxygen and oxidation.

Flesh is a cool one and well as blood.

Soul energy (green) Life energy (red) spiritual energy (blue) and occult energy (purple)

tbf Bandai is fucking dogshit and loves making their community fight for supplies

Riot has openly said they're printing origins into the ground and we're getting multiple restocks of cards before the next set, some as early as in 2 weeks.

It's just price manipulation before that product drop, since theres tournaments before more supplies come, people are just scalping staples at this point
>>
>>96910202
It was fomo spec hyped? Yes, but not until after stock dried up after the first two weeks from the pitiful first wave numbers. I guess they didn't expect it to sell gangbusters? FFG then over printed the set, destroyed all value and moved on to the second set.

For number 2, that was an interesting situation. You see, because stores were aware of the demand for the new sci fi game, they flinched and hoarded products or jacked up prices sky high; just like the first time. That lasted only until they realized how low the prices were falling in real time, due to staggering availability. Star wars fans got burned set one, then set two stores got burned.

This completely fucked up their projected meteoric rise. FFG's mistake would then be over corrected when they forced out a collectors product prematurely to court back all the whales. All the first go around collectors bought heavy into it, ending in a blood bath, where very few cards retained value while the company sprayed down the playerbase in special foil treatment hoses and extra high rarity pulls. Their actions resulted in the fucking over of the group responsible for keeping the lights on,
the collectors.

Ultimately this proves they messed up their attempt to restore good faith in the community many times now, but they're licensed for a set amount of years, so the company largely looks like its going through the motions trying to keep this thing alive. I have no idea if they ever nailed down set and mechanic design, that was very polarizing throughout the game's existence as well.

That's a brief history of what it was like to follow along with SWU.
>>
>>96910381
That's a shame, it's a fun game.
>>
>>96910422
>>96910422
Don't get me wrong, I liked the game mechanics, and thought they did a great job of simplifying zones. Space lane and Ground lane just make sense for Star Wars and kept combat running. There's sadly some things that irk me about the game and ultimately drove me away from it, with set design being a large one, because it always felt too spread thin and not baked enough to support each archetype before moving on.

Like take the keyword Bounty for example, it's a parasitic mechanic from set 2 that says when you kill someone with a bounty, get a reward for doing so - simple, flavorful, allowed for fun early game advantage. As far as I'm aware, Bounty lived and died in its set; they haven't reused the mechanic. Ever. I don't know about you, but Bounties are deeply tied to the conflicts in the setting and could continue to be expanded upon in future sets, across all eras. But nah, FFG is done with the mechanic and all cards that synergize with Bounty can get fucked. 32 cards, just dead-ended design wise. How dumb can you get, Asmodee?

423 KB

>>96910541
UPDATE: I relied on the filter finding bounty cards. Evidently 12 of those don't actually interact with the Bounty mechanic, so that's 20 whole ass cards that synergize with bounty, a wonderful mechanic. Incidentally that's only 12 bounty hunter named or themed cards period on top of that, so... how many sets are we into with this game and Bounty Hunters, the money makers of the verse, are not being represented? It's lunacy.

And don't get me started on Creatures, the archetype that never was. There's only 38 of them, or cards that care about them. Star Wars, the puppet show on crack, not supporting creatures as a deck type.

If they have a consistent way to destroy Kragen with their own kit then they can do Code Igniter + Kragen, pop Kragen to summon 2 spawn, spawn into F0, and then Cyberse Sage to summon Chorozo. The two problems with that is that I don't know if their deck (or Generaider's kit in general) can self-pop like that, and it loops back to an earlier problem I mentioned about getting a god hand and probably being around for longer grinds. Chorozo OR Kragen seems most practical, not both.

I also just don't really think that mulching a Kragen to go into F0 would really be worth it? I think that Kragen's multiple points of interaction would probably be better in Genesys since that's at least 1 non-targeting destruction effect per turn, or 2 when Kragen gets revived by one of its spawn dying, and 4 total bodies to sandbag if you're in a pinch. Only reason I could think as to why you'd wanna do that is for F0's zero-tolerance targeting embargo being stronger than kragen's attribute modulation.
>>
>>96908476
I feel like making Kragen is the going second/turn 3 plan for the Nekroz part of the deck, while the Code Igniter path is tuned for the Enterblathnir hand rip.
>>
>>96908793
I could see it working both ways. It again depends on gamestate and matchup knowledge. For instance, if you're playing against a VoVo deck and go to game 2 knowing that you're going against a VoVo deck, having something that shuts off Barrier's LIGHT protection would go hard. Same if you're against a Crimson Resonator deck since those care about attributes on the field. Maybe it's also just their only option available and having 4 bodies to sandbag is just more valuable than having Chorozo on the field. Stuff you gotta assess on-the-fly and all that.

I wanted to do more with my favorite setting than just watch videos and read about it. More generally, it gives me something creative and artistic to do that I can actually create something and get better with time rather than just being an idle consumer of games/shows/videos made by someone else.

this doesn't make any sense in the context of orthodox marxism and i don't quite get the angle you're trying to argue from.

it's not what a Market Liberal or capitalist would call capitalist, it has markets, it has profit seeking traders, it has an unfree economy that is partially managed by a distant governing body in a vaguely feudal empire based on the later days of Western Rome.

>marx decried.
the imperium is a feudal society, with an extensive list of different social castes and classes that extend past the modern capitalist matter.
within the imperuim, it's highly irregular structure would make it hard to indicate the power of guilds outside of a planet by planet basis.
The system is corrupt and byzantine but it is also stultified and stratified, anyone who can wield power merchant or otherwise is likely a hereditary appointment and maybe a long suffering cadet branch of the family that simply preformed beyond expectation politically.
This is the product of the imperium's material conditions, with limited and unreliable transportation as well as extensive external threats, extreme specialization and technological decay this is the base that generates the superstructure. even if you were to try and force a revolution in 40k it would fail to extend past it's boarders world by world because the aforementioned issues, along with language barriers, and highly irregular standards.
It is a premordern empire. it relies on slaves to load it's guns because the technology to do so is gone, or literally demonically cursed.

Also it feels weird talking to a westerner about this but nigga they were oppressed the merchants, marx goes into detail about this as a class struggle, it's a part of his idea, that the merchants did away with the other classes when they gained the upper edge it's apart of his god damn theories.

also anyone who dislikes trade is a retard and deserved to die at the fields of Aragon with the rest of the CNT.

backing up the other anons, trade existed in the neolithic, humans have literally be le capialism by this definition since before we were capable of speech and agriculture.
If you consider it the family is the first corporation. item's being shared in common use around the tribe would not be equal, stronger tribes would be able to gather more land and resources and then more goods that they could return into more land and resources and they did.
capitalism is a part of your D AND FUCKING A BITCH.

Those long horizontal "free flying" flags with the tapered tail shaped like a triangle I think are called battle standards, I'm not sure how it all works but I know those long ones that flow like that had the most customization of the monarchs.
