The most recent box came with a campaign structure about exploring a necron tomb world, so I was thinking I'd take that and inject the same freeform lore writing that I used to help the campaign I played back just before KT18 released to make it feel more immersive. I’m going to devise a priority table like you said; if I’m going with the spyrer’s I’ll likely develop a unique table for each model, but for the palanites they’ll likely all share one. The tables will likely be something like

With the Spyrer’s I’d likely make it so stuff like the Orrus prefers getting into melee and acts a bit more brazen, whereas the Weld will likely prioritise shooting and staying a set distance from models when possible. If I go with palanites I’ll likely add behaviours like apprehending/capturing enemies and advancing with a teammate to their table over stuff like coup de grace’ing, going for outright kills and advancing blindly to an objective alone

From pretty much everything we see in SW media, not just the films themselves but also novels, games, etc., the ISD is consistently presented as a Very Big Ship. It's larger than anything the Rebellion had and while there are a handful of larger ships (the Executor most obviously, plus a few other super star destroyer designs that have shown up in comics or videogames), those are almost always fleet command ships (aka. the story's BBEG's personal ride that's narratively the final boss of the space battle) and you're almost never going to be seeing more than one at a time. So the idea that the ISD would be the equivalent of an escort ship just doesn't hold water.
You could make an argument for it being the equivalent of a cruiser (big but not the biggest capital ship, designed to project power and operate independently or with a small support squadron for long periods), with the Executor-class being the battleship, though it probably make more sense to treat the ISD as a battleship and the SSD as a bigger battleship. One is the Schanhorst and the other the Tirpitz, if you will.

That’s pretty accurate, I have a copy of the imperial handbook and the book does talk about some fleet formations consisting entirely of a single ISD without any support or escorts.

So if I were to describe the “official” role of an ISD, it would be a heavy cruiser (or possibly battlecruiser)-carrier hybrid ship, much like the Venator before it.

But the scale difference is due in large part to having slightly different overall objectives, the venator was built to fight battles and win wars, and the ISD was built to bully a largely unarmed civilian population (and satisfy some very insecure military commanders).

So with that said, I’d categorize the SSD as: an abomination of engineering. The result of insecure imperial commanders doubling down on their “look as big and intimidating as possible” doctrine when the galaxy stopped buying their crap about how the empire is this “big, scary insurmountable monolithic organization that cannot be beaten” and started openly defying the Galactic Empire.

ISDs correspond most closely to "battlecarriers", hybrids of carriers and battleships that never really got popular, though more like a combination of an amphibious assault ship with a battleship than a normal carrier with a battleship. Its main purpose is to blow away enemy capital ships with its big guns. Its secondary purpose is to land troops and provide them with orbital fire support. Its carrier capability exists to support those two missions (though its fighters often end up doing as lot of the real work because no one wants to engage the ISD itself if they can avoid it). There's nothing quite like it IRL - it's basically a single ship trying to fulfill all the specialized roles of a small fleet by itself.

Yes, the specific signifier is obviously socially mediated; I picked colors deliberately because I assumed that at this point everyone knows that blue=boy/pink=grill designation is wholly arbitrary and was semi-recently the other way around. These seem less useful than fine-grain sandpaper. Most modern SLA printers with anti-aliasing can print well enough that you shouldn't be seeing print lines at all. Try adjusting your print settings first, some resins can be used with a very short exposure time per layer.

Thread question: What are some systems or you would like to include or see included in a campaign, but haven't been able to? They don't have to be the main focus of the game, having them only as something on the side is okay.

A sane default would be building the content in LaTeX, to leverage its ability to take your content and drop it directly into a pre-prepared document formatting template with minimal work. There is a reason scientific journals use it to concatenate papers from multiple different authors.

Despite my many efforts to explain and streamline things, they still think everything is way too complicated.
They think there are too many skills, and that default penalties are too harsh. So I've introduced wildcard skills and taught them to use rules like Time Spent to offset default penalties. But they still don't like it.
They think hit locations are too hard to hit, range penalties are too harsh, and that too many actions take too long in combat. I try to explain how you can offset penalties or do things faster by using combat options like Aim, Evaluate, All-Out Attack, Telegraphic Attack, and Extra Effort, or bump up skill or buy special advantages or techniques to make things easier. Their enemies are also subject to all the same rules, so knowing how to use these options should give them a huge leg up over their foes. But they think all these rules are unnecessary. "I've shot a gun before, [GM]. Anyone should be able to quick-draw a pistol and make a snap shot at a target's neck at 10 meters with 95% accuracy. These rules are stupid." I'm a noguns, so they don't take me seriously when I cite real-life firearm statistics.
Generally, they think too many things give penalties, and don't like adding up penalties. I try to explain that these things which give penalties would just simply be impossible in other systems, and by leveraging modifiers they can make the impossible possible. They say "That's fine. Just don't let me do them then." Which baffles me, because when I was running D&D way back in the day, they were always complaining how they couldn't do anything.
One player also dropped out of the game early while complaining that there was "too much combat." But he said he's also going to be joining my other player's DH2E/Sector-X game even though that game is going to have even more combat. So that also befuddled me. Although, it could've just been scheduling issues that he had to drop out, and the comment was incidental. He didn't say.

As a thought experiment, how would I write up an ability that lets me send my mind back in time? Like reloading a "save point" in video games, but it can go to any point in the past since the time you first acquired the ability. I'm thinking it would probably involve Jumper (Time) with Accessibility or some other limitations. It should be possible to use with conscious effort, but also trigger automatically on death, so Reflexive should also be there.

On a stationary target at the range you get something like +4, I doubt your friends can do that either or they're at least national level competitors
