Why doesn't the Old World Builder use the actual faction icons instead of their original donut steel bullshit ones?
It took me six years to find and paint this model. He's almost done now.
>>97352214Thanks! I might not go for this collection specifically, but Sarissa has a few alternatives I might look into. >>97353235I love these banners anon! The one on the right makes me think of Saxony. I also love the square patterns on the clothes, I'm going to attempt that on my Hochlanders soon. How hard did that ermine pattern on the left one end up being? I thought about using that for a Bretonnian battle march force.I'm personally printing my banners out on paper for now, I got an okay printer at home and I don't want to attempt freehanding on cloth yet (although >>97352785 looks phenomenal). I created three designs (the state banner for my captain, one for my greatswords, and one for my veterab halbs) that I might finally print out this evening.

Why can't they do a decent Angron model? It's either giant fat stubby-winged ork or massive wings with weirdly-proportioned humanoid attached.
>>97345624Sort of. One is the 40k plastic model, and the other is the Forgeworld Heresy one. I'd have to check but I'm pretty sure FW has a model for all the primarchs but 40k only has the 4 daemon primarchs, Roboute, and The Lion.
>>97345511What did you have in mind? I think the new one looks good. I'd never fucking pay for it though. $200+ is fucking stupid for any model.
>>97345624Yes. It's so the retard consumers who are obsessed with this particular super villian keep buying another one. If they just had the one figure, most would just buy one and then stop, something that would be bad for GW sales. Repeatedly releasing different versions means GW gets a continuous income (until the retards wise up they are being scammed and quite GW products altogether)
>>97345511They butchered his backstreet when they fleshed it out in the HH novels, why do you think they wouldn't butcher his model? Most of the traitors in the HH narrative aren't really characters, just props to make the loyalists look good.

Stop looking at fantasy settings and its cultural dialogue through contemporary utilitarian lenses. Your present reasoning and thoughts are a direct result of sociocultural narratives, they're not objectively reasonable or the apex of human thought.

>>97352832Maybe look up the Code of Chivalry, the AD&D alignment system, or the seven Virtues? >>97353926>you are trying to reinvent the wheel>here's how tolkien reinvented the wheel and made something fascinating and far more enduring than its inspiration ever wasWow, you're doing a really great job of dissuading the OP!
>>97353997The Hobbit was published in 1937. Gnomes are folklore inventions from centuries ago. I think gnomes have endured for far longer. Regardless, the point is that trying to use gnomes to make them fit into Tolkien-inspired races is getting them backwards. They should be the original ones, older and more magical, no the other way around.
>>97353858>>97353874Rather then evil Gnomes, what would 'Good' Kobolds look like?
pretty sure Deep Gnomes are a thing in a few settings, and generally they're schizophrenic and disturbed by things that lurk in the deepest parts

Let's call them 'Golden Men,' left for better planets leaving Fenris, or as it was known at the time: Obama, in the hands of its now unemployed workforce. When the Eldar Empire fell, Planet Obama fell into further irrelevance as what was left of Aeldari investments dried up so the planet became poor as fuck. Things got so bad even the Grot H1B holders weren't setting up scam call centers and the Stryxis 24/7 owners were tired of getting robbed so they took off. Then the Age of Strife happened and most of the population starved due to EBT and food stamps no longer being available resulting in a societal decline.

>>97352209>To clarify further, it's a really annoying trend in these threads of "XYZ thing is making it so my god king who can punch mountains in half has to actually level up and roll dice and work for things! They have to take part in the setting!" That is a very fascinating phenomenon and I don't know where it stems from because most stories prefer the protagonists to have opposition that is stronger than them but must be defeated with courage and cleverness. You'd have to be reading nothing but the most degenerate LitRPG/isekai shit imaginable to think that a good RP story is about how you're the strongest guy ever and how everybody else is there to fawn at your feet.
>>97354006Nobody has suggested that though. What kind of schizo reasoning do you have to connect that to not liking the box?
>>97353995>There's zero evidence any of them feel like that.Read the actual post, because I don't know what the hell you're trying to say here - I didn't actually say that the Neverborn felt any particular way, for starters. Thread dedicated to Sci-Fi based discussion. 40k need not apply. [\spoiler]How goes your sci-fi setting, anon? I am currently running a Traveller game in a homebrew setting, and am getting lost in the sauce of stellar physics.
I've had an idea for a more space oriented cyberpunk game brewing for a while, though I'm reminded now that 2300 exists and while I'm not super familiar with traveller that also seems like an option. So what is trav like?
>>97352667I definitely prefer the thought of a information network time gated by jump mechanics. It can create some very interesting scenarios, and it can give players an actual sort of soft currency of exchanging news when they hit out of the way spots that aren't on the major trade paths
I've been interested in running Stars Without Number in a space frontier like Star Trek TOS
>>97352667Here are my rules1. FTL travel is only possible with a real sentient person controlling the ship. Don't try brain in a jar, it backfires.2. FTL communication inside of a solar system is possible, but only through some fairly expensive infrastructure.3. The vast, vast majority of information is carried by courier ships who must make the FTL travel by themselves.4. There is instant FTL galaxy-wide communications available, but only the big giant ancient asshole alien empire knows how to do it, and only those people extremely, extremely high up get to use it. This typically takes the form of pre-recorded video messages. A live holo-link with a member of the Imperial Court means someone on the other side of the call really fucked up. Humans (aka players) have access to this tech, but can only send very simple text messages, like telegrams, can be vulnerable to distortion, it's not reliable.I like the feeling of Traveller "Age of Sail" communication, but I also want to leave myself open to other stuff.
>>97352643>I've never been able to find a system with space combat I likeSounds like you haven't looked very hard. Or have extremely autistic needs.
why are many creators so afraid of making a setting with napoleonic wars era technology?
>>97328517Why do all those Algerians in France love him so much then?
the main problem that I see is that people are push the fantasy part to much to the sidelines and just try to make it too historical while not putting the same constrains on other types of fantasy just as an example, the irl medieval period was very different from what we watched in the Lord of the Rings, DnD is even more different in almost all aspects what is needed is first to get a setting that is to the period just like DnD/LotR is to the irl medieval period
>>97285005reminds me of that one thread a year ago or so about what a napoleonic warhammer would look like. 'Twas comfy.
>>97285005Evangeline Waltons novel Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell is great and would make an ideal RPGThere is a skirmish wargame Silver Bayonet that I think works better as an RPG setting than a wargame
>>97351092Wasn't Warhammer Fantasy battles in the period, if not past it and heading toward WW1 tech? The Empire, Dwarfs, Kislev, Skaven and Chaos Dwarfs were all industrialising societies with access to mass firearms.
