This couldn't be more performative.
>>
>>97334359
No. The most kino party is any that sits on the spectrum between full human and full dwarf. Less kino is adding in some mix of gnomes, halflings, giant, or celestial. Then you get closer to the bottom for each furry/edgelord option added.

Wildcards are goblins, kobolds, and RP hardmodes like Kenku or Lizardfolk

>What is this?
/TG/ DEVELOPED A GAME
IT IS PLAYABLE. IT HAS BEEN PLAYED.
EXPEDITION is a ~1880s era, Jules Verne-inspired retro-futurist, underground blood soaked adventurescape.
It is a Skirmish wargame. Two players with their own expeditions, on a hexgrid map, explore & fight each other for victory and profit.

3 versions of the rules exist, 2 of which have been playtested. The main one is 2e, to be found :
as with maps, tokens and lore resources.

Also, during a discussion last evening I was reminded of Two Years of Vacation, one of my favorite Jules Verne novel. I thought for a moment that we could make a Lost Boys mini-faction out of it, but it could also be a simple profile for the Lost Men?
This has also sent me into a Barenstein Bear situation, I swear there was a French animation shows from the late 80s I used to watch all the time, and all I can find are "the Story of 15 Boys", which is an American animation based on the novel and I swear I recognize some parts but not others, and there's no way my 6~7 years old was watching this in English...

Is this the version you remember or just the American one in French?

While we're on the topic, I remember some sort of Osamu Tezuka era looking anime about a barbarian boy in the Ice Age. There was a pet bear, some sort of ice witch, and the climax was a bunch of cavemen throwing torches at a mammoth made of a blizzard. That's Agartha-ish enough for me to bring it up. Anyone know what I'm talking about?

The Gramme Dynamo, A.K.A:

Looks to be the closest DC generator to when Agartha takes place and also fairly prominent at the time.

If we're willing to use things that came out in 1884 exactly, which we generally are from what I recall, then Edison's "Long Legged Mary Anne" seems the best option
>later renamed the "long-waisted" Mary-Ann out of modesty

There are better quality images on the site but here's one I found of it in use by humans instead of just in an orthographic technical drawing

Welcome to the Old School Renaissance General, the thread dedicated to first-decade D&D, its faithful modern clones, and content created for use with them. Later editions (2e and newer) should be discussed elsewhere.

Broadly, OSR games encourage a tonal and mechanical fidelity to Dungeons & Dragons played as intended by its creators from 1974 to 1983 — less emphasis on linear adventures and overarching metaplots and a greater emphasis on player agency.

If you are new to the OSR, welcome! Ask us whatever you're curious about: we'll be happy to help you get started. We also have two excellent beginner guides created by Anons with feedback from the thread that you can check for help:

I wanted to say thanks to anyone who helped me with some questions about mutant future and labyrinth lord in a previous thread. I now had a question about some supplements. I heard that apes victorious added some neat stuff for mutant future by some people, but I also heard that it actually is a bit harder to convert to mutant future and does not add much. Does anyone know if that is the case? Some of the powers sound neat, and my players want to use more offensive mental abilities. Are the psi powers vs mental mutations just different names?

How is the advanced mutant companion? I know it is made by someone other than goblinoid games, so I was wondering if it added a lot of neat options without changing the core game. It looks like it adds feats and skills which seems to go against the grain. Another book that looked better in my opinion was creatures of the tropical wastes.

I've run TOTSK...twice? Three times now? It's not reccommended on account of being very railroady. Even though its a "tutorial" you can do better. The first time My players did not get far (i blame myself using armor encumberance, & that they were all 5e brained)
Second time was with my family. That was a lot of fun for them.
I've also ran b2 for that first group. It was OK but i failed as a DM. I was running BFRPG and didnt fully comprehend the rules yet.

I actually don't hate planeswalkers from a mechanical standpoint, even if I think it's pretty unnecessary. They have done, and would do fine, as legendary creature cards.

My beef is that the shift in portraying a wide cast of new planeswalkers as main characters was part of some very bad story decisions. We kind of saw two major sides of Magic before the Mending:
>Planeswalkers as part of the conflict with Phyrexia, surrounding the life of Urza
>The exploration of worlds where Planeswalkers are either wholly absent, or are more important for the background of the worlds that things are happening in, rather than the main focus characters
What we moved on to is:
>"No, guys, we're totally not trying to capitalize on superhero team tropes right now. Who cares about the integrity of lore for the worlds we're visiting? It's all about the characters we can't write well! They're planeswalkers like you, so we want to lean into them, but we're losing faith in story's ability to be sold, so we're going to drop the ball right after we make this huge change in how we market the game!"

The amount of hate for Garth Ennis will always be funny to me.
>>
>>97355473
Cause he’s overrated by the type of nerd who pisses themselves with glee over the thought of being edglords dunking on “baby” cape comic fans with their cynical ocs without realizing Garth himself is a cape comic fans, just one with bad taste and a fetish for bad things happening to good people. He’s a decent writer, but he would be better if he didn’t have shock content as a crutch. Most of his fans are subhuman losers who aspire to be the type of sociopathic retards that Garth Ennis’s Punisher would gun down, though.

What edition of BB should I play? Not sure if the new one is any good. I’m mostly interested with starting with Sevens, probably gonna play vamps. My buddy has Necromantic Horrors. I’m pretty green to the whole thing. I know vamps are very random, but I’m pretty okay with that, sounds silly.

Do you guys reckon the next big 'munda release will be another "zone Necromunda" game? This is to buy into the idea though that mental illness is not illness. Both depression and MS are ultimately physiological, even if the symptoms they exhibit are different. I don’t think most of us look at someone with an ‘obvious’ ‘physical’ illness and see it as a character flaw. To draw an artificial category distinction, both ‘physical’ and ‘mental’ illnesses can be helped through pharmacological intervention and non-medicinal coping strategies and behavioural changes. For both categories, the latter are often more difficult than the former for obvious reasons: a pill doesn't have to fight habits and behaviours often long ingrained by coping with a particular illness. The body shepherds its energies for survival and is loathe to expend them ‘unnecessarily’. It’s one of the cruellest paradoxes of any long term illness.

Most people with depression do get out of bed to provide for themselves and their families, not least because they have no other choice. I know you aren’t that anonymous, but you both seem to think that people with depression have no self-awareness and would kill to be able to just ‘stop that fag shit’. I don’t want special treatment or accommodations - I want to be normal, productive, functioning and socially contributory, and it would be nice if those efforts came to feel normal, easy and healthy.

>I don’t think most of us look at someone with an ‘obvious’ ‘physical’ illness and see it as a character flaw
Appeal to the masses is a fallacy. Also, I never said "character flaw", just flaw. It certainly is a flaw to be physically or mentally ill. A flaw is a blemish, an imperfection, a drawback. A runny nose certainly is a blemish.
>pharmakeia hopium
idk mate, I don't touch the stuff
>Most people with depression do get out of bed to provide
Well shit nigga, then those people are less depressed (ie. less weak) than the more depressed (ie. weaker) ones. You understand what a spectrum is, right?
>The body shepherds its energies for survival and is loathe to expend them ‘unnecessarily’
Yeah, because it is weak. Make it stronger and it'll have more energy, and thus be less loathe to expend some of it. Poor people are always the worst hoarders for the same reason.

Do you know any scifi RPG with good aesthetics? Even if it's just concepts, draws or artworks.

I had no idea there was so much hate towards the Verbena. I was just thinking of a character concept based on the vvitch movie from 2015 about witches who try to initiate people into their culture by first destroying all attachments they may have. But why is such a tradition so reviled? I don't see them that much different from the hermetics or the cult of ecstasy.

I for one like Verbena but they're quite a meme. My favorite are the Euthanatoi though.

Thanks for the advice. Gods I feel like I butchered the kusanagi mini so badly. My primer fucked up, so I stripped it, but couldn't get all of it off, and then reprimed, and painting over it I used several thin af coats and it just feels like the primer washed away the detail. I need some industrial ass primer stripper for her.

Almost agreed, cutter should be in its own tier above S with tikbalang, sphinx should be b, maggy is where she should be.
