>>97197785Nonsense, Andor wears everything it's doing right on its sleeve and delivers its themes directly to you with flowery speeches. The problem isn't that people don't get Andor. The problem is the god awful pacing of Season 2 that makes everything besides the Ghorman Massacre fall flat.
>We will never get a galatic wide showdown between Thrawn trilogy Thrawn and X-wing WedgeI hate this fucking franchise.
>>97204042>you're welcome
I just had a fantastic session and feel great. DMing may be hard, but it's one of the most rewarding things on the planet. We're playing 3.5 after years of 5e, and we're loving it. It's so much more tactically interesting and enjoyable!

>>97201891I'm also running Savage Tide for my kids (20-somethings) adapted to 5E and it's really good. Currently on Serpents of Scuttlecove (The Wreck). I'm building a 3D battlemat for that one right now and hope to finish it this weekend. The campaign as written is pretty brutal, and I tend to be pretty forgiving since the players are not super experienced (and they're my daughters!). But when handled carefully, it's one heck of a ride. :)
>>97203150Holy shit nice! Yeah, I almost TPK'd theme in Bullywug Gambit when I rebuilt a level 6 cleric into a level 7 druid. But they just barely squeaked out a win.
>>97200615How is DMing for 6 people? I feel like I have my hands full with 4.

>>97203995That's pretty much exactly what I want. Jokey or punny names. Unfortunately I'm not good at coming up with funny names. The Ferengi idea is a pretty fun idea though and not one I'd have ever considered. The Grand Nagus is one of my favorite scifi characters.
>>97203152My issue with Cathay is that I think the lore they ended up getting was uninspired, and a massive missed opportunity to boot - especially in the context of TOW.Cathay could have been set up as a series of factions/dynasties controlled by each of the Dragon Emperor's children (each dynasty could pull influence from a real-world Chinese dynasty). The Dragon Emperor determines the ruling dynasty, and that dynasty falls out of power when it loses the Emperor's favour (i.e. losing the mandate of heaven). With TOW being set around the age of three emperors, it would have been a great opportunity to juxtapose the established Empire lore with the new Cathay lore to highlight its differences. Catahy could have been in the middle of one of these dynastic transitions (think Yuan to Ming, or Ming to Qing in the real world), which could have also worked as a justification for having Miao Ying in the Empire, as she could have been earning glory to curry favour with her father.
>>97204022Eh, Cathay is imo a massive piece of shit, but there's still time to reverse course. No idea if they will but there's a lot of potential to do bait and switches. Some of the new teased Cathay models with extremely unsubtle hints of Tzeentchian corruption were positive additions so they are at least setting themselves up for the potential to show us how all the posturing of being a perfect utopia is just propaganda.

>In the game Werewolf: The Apocalypse, the Garou (werewolves) were made to defend the earth from the cosmic forces that threaten to tear it apart. The Garou fight against the Wyrm, the destroyer. Since we're talking about dicks, isn't it creepy that the Garou (and I suppose all the other species too) can seduce anyone with just a look?

I feel like this edition has alot of objectively bad things about it and is absolutely where the alot of worst qualities of current editions showed up. But I feel like I prefer playing this edition compared to a lot of previous editions and 10th edition. Its a weird transitional period where there's still a lot of the old units that haven't been legended yet while still having the fucking Primaris lot. Its strange but I don't feel like I'm missing out on much staying on this edition and playing with friends casually instead of going back to playing the current edition.

It was my first edition of 40k which means I have a biased outlook on it. 8th was very easy to slide into but I can't really say I enjoyed it that much more than 9th (I quit for 30k towards the tail end).Index 8th was very enjoyable but then stratagem bloat, detachment-maxxing, rule of 3 soured the game for me.

It's immediately noticeable that we have finally defeated fishfag, the pro-2e troll that has been force-merging and hijacking threads. How do I know this? He is pretending to be somebody that is not him, and using our own tactics against us. But it will not work because he is a singular malfeasant pest. Ignore him, and remember:2e is off-topic.ACKS is based. Slice of Life / downtime/beach episode sessions are not a bad thing or a bug!
