>>97369010>>97369097Also, if it wasn't readily apparent from the fact that DIFO's chart lists 12 others; the number of viable Rogue-tier decks was *substantially* larger than it is now. A lot of untiered decks work against meta in the current state of the game, but very few of them are able to keep up at tournaments. Meanwhile, shit like Virtual World, Mekk-Knights, and freaking Eldlich were still able to swing in DIFO.

>>97370730I was so very pleased and surprised with Siege of Cthonia. "Yes. They've still got it". And they still do, they just have to remember what they already did and keep developing it.But to be honest, I'm not sure this Tactical Journal thing lends itself to it....though some Exemplary Battles were basically that, and that series wasn't half bad.
>>97370745You'll get a single custodes female character and that's it. Not even any liber teases.
>>97370773>an already borken ass faction is going to get more broken shitI haven't played against 3.0 Custards yet but are they? Their stats are great but it seems pretty easy to feed them crap while farming VP from Line units, army-wide Vanguard sounds quite detrimental against many lists in the context of progressive scoring.I'd argue that their 3.0 rules are much more soulful and the army's internal balance is nowhere near as bad as what it was in 2.0, which is an improvement. Custodian Guard spam was abysmally unfun to play against.
>>97370082I am working on a marine that is taking a dump on a SoH legion logo. Will post pics when it's ready. It's for a specific friend that like shit like this
>>97370945>I haven't played against 3.0 Custards yet but are they?Yes, they are just as, if not more broken then 2.0. The problem is their stats will rip appart anything thats not on par with them, which since you dont have an army of preators, your not gonna stand a chance against them. The big thing with custodes that makes them insane is their init stat being I5, being able to swing with WS5 before anything else gets to swing is BRUTAL.

why are many creators so afraid of making a setting with napoleonic wars era technology?
>>97360893>Unironically what did Napoleon stand for?Liberty, human rights, de-feudalization and reforms towards a modern, humanitarian code of law, mostly.
>>97360893>Unironically what did Napoleon stand for?himself and france, mostly
>>97363439>human rights>humanitarian code of lawWell, it was a turbulent era, so dispersing riot with cannon fire might not disqualify him from humanitarian outlook. But the fact that he used grapeshot kinda does.
>>97298258Five pistols and a Melee weapon you say?
While not strictly napoleonics (its set in 1880) or perhaps the sort of "fantasy" you are into, ExpeditionL Agartha Descent has a fantasy Napoleon in as the setting's boss and anti-hero.

What's your theory for why all the talent is leaving Leder Games? What’s your worst/best board game break up story?
>>97360696>What's your theory for why all the talent is leaving Leder Games?I'd assume the constant threat of being raped by wehrle didn't offset the honor of working for a mediocre publisher carried by art
Root BTFO
>>97370739Needlessly angry, but I agree with the essence. Now to be fair; from what I know the inclusion of VPs was forced upon the game by leder. But to be even more fair, if cole got his will games would probably take 7h and end only when all players unanimously agree on who won
People love to whine about the points in root when it's very obvious that the points are merely an abstraction of "how well you're doing with your factions point generator". Root has many, many issues, but focusing on the point tracker is futile
>>97370866I don't think so, Pax and Arcs are rather short
I know /tg/ had a pretty active Space Station 13 community way back in the days of yore, and now that the open-source modernized Space Station 14 is coming along nicely i was wondering if there is a SS14 /tg/ community kicking around. It would be fun to get stuck in with the old robust grey tide crowd again. Otherwise, general Space station 13/14 thread i guess.

I hate painting webbing but my Colonials are almost done. Then I can go to the land of New Mu and play there with fun (painful) things like magnetization and veils.Since I want my whole Mu force to be wearing face coverings of some sort this does mean that if I do a priestess she'll have to be veiled like picrel. Those glazes look painful and I'm not great at faces to begin with.
>>97366917Forgot picrel.
>>97366920>painting traslucent surfacesGood luck with that. I struggle with realistic beards as it is, I cannot imagine trying something like pic related.
Every once in a while there's a thread popping up about how badass and stronger 40k's setting is, but big time professional question ironically raised by an autistic friend of mine at the pub yesterday:Could the Imperium sucessfully afford to invade and take over Kirby's planet?
>>97368786It would never happen. GW HATES non-GW products used in their wargames, so a battle between GW Space Marines and a creature from another franchise is impossible. You will be lucky if your arnt ripped to shreds by tournament autists, Product Purity Shills and GW Attack Lawyers for even suggesting it.
>>97369367You’re right that 40k isn’t that powerful of a setting but man is everything else about this post embarrassing

>>97369045Well, sure, there's cheese strategies everywhere (CSM with Obliterator spam and Bikers spawncamping with daemons, for example), but I was talking more about the casual setting. Nids are very strong at that level desu.>>97369813I know, but I generally tend to avoid "giving myself more" house rules. Still, wouldn't mind trying.
Chosen having a gorillion wargear options is fucking kino and I refuse to play any edition where I cant give everyone in a squad jump packs and power hammers
>>97370069I mean the oposite, there are not that many cheese tactics. The already mentioned ones are basically the only worth mentioning. Nids are just ok at a casual level because horma/termagants are expensive unless equiped with spinefists, genestealers are even more expensive and fragile, carnifex sucks at melee, in fact most tiranids actually suck at melee. Zoantropes are easy to target if you don't learn how to shield them with other troops, warriors are bad, reaveners are not easy to use etcNids are very much fine.
>>97370281Huh, well tbf I haven't played against them in years, so I probably got that wrong.Still, I can't help but love how much you can modify them.>>97370092Chambers just going:>Dude, these are thousand year old veterans. They can do whatever you wantWill never be topped.
>>97368383Yeh I meant flavor and balance. *In general* the 5th ed codices have some of the most flavorful and best and most unique and creative content in them over any other edition of warhammer. But they didnt always (read most of them lol) do a good job balancing it. The notable exception is that dark eldar book, which is just chock full of awesome units, rules, wargear, and options, while also being very well internally balanced. There is just so much cool stuff in it. On the contrary one of the most boring codices is the 4th edition eldar book (but its still better than the 3rd ed one cause fuck 3 shot starcannons lol). Ironically the coolest eldar book every published is the (and I hate to say it) but its the 7th ed one, simply because they finally took the time to come up with cool and thematic rules for all the aspect warriors.
