Christmas edition▶What is Kingdom Death?Kingdom Death is a tabletop miniature brand stared by Adam Poots and operated by himself and his Team that later spun off into a miniature based bored game funded by two very successful Kickstarter campaigns.▶What is Kingdom Death: Monster?Monster is a Nightmare Horror cooperative boss battler/miniature hobby game for 1-4 players about hope in a strange world of bizarre monstrosities and perpetually darkness. Players take on the role of survivors that band together to form a settlement, fighting monsters, crafting weapons and gear, and developing their civilization to ensure survival from generation to generation.Prologue Narration: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FNLc8dHv0AcThe Game is broken up into 3 phases:1. During your Hunt Phase your band of survivors traverse the world of KD in pursuit of their quarry.2. After successfully tracking your quarry you will begin the Showdown Phase, where you must fell these horrific creatures in order to acquire precious resources.3. After the battle, your survivors wander home with loot in hand to begin the Settlement Phase. Arm yourself by developing new weapons and bizarre structures to prepare for next year's hunt.Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
>>97232296>even on the worse possible outcome of losing a survivor, 10+ survivores get +1STR>Every settlement phase can net +40str spread overThis shit is clearly broken, as in, clearly not intended to be abused, and if you "won" 3 campaigns pumping 40STR every year you may as well fudge rolls, that shit is disgusting bro

>>97232353What the fuck are you talking about?
>>97232296I will say its mostly just been bad luck. I am a statistical anomaly with how bad my luck is with and game involving dice. Also our first two runs we did completely blind and did not meta, per say. I do feel we are much better then when we first played.
>>97233035Gotcha. Well, I wish you better luck in the coming year, then. Also, another thing I forgot to mention with SotF, is that per Poots directly the "you must keep this result" part of the text only means you can't go back to the original result, not that the new result can't be rerolled. Also, SotF rerolls on multi-die rolls such as SotF intimacy will reroll one at a time, not both.So in short:- Anybody present can reroll any die. During settlement phase, any survivor can reroll anything. During hunt and showdown phase, any departing survivor can reroll anything. I assume this counts scouts too? Haven't played since GC came out like I said but it seems to fit the pattern.- The same die can be rerolled as many times as you're willing to throw rerolls at it.- When rerolling a multi-die roll (such as SotF intimacy or an attack roll), each reroll only affects one die.It is easy mode but it's how Poots says it works so I guess that's how it is.

About to try and GM my first Exalted game, using 3e. I've done VtM 20th anniversary before so a lot of the system is recognizable but for my 2 Solars what kind of scale are they going to be starting at? I was envisioning them running around the Scavenger Lands since one of them is a runaway from Lookshy and was going to pick a city up the river as a starting location. Should I expect with their powers (One is a Zenith one is a Twilight) that they'll be taking over that city through social manipulation or raising armies out of the citizens and on a march of conquest at Essence 1? I'm used to improvisation but just want to know if I should prepare things around a single city or do I need to be ready for them to be jumping from city to city like the Hulk and talk no justu'ing every mortal administrator into being either a loyal puppet or sex slave?

>>97231104I just have my elves view everything that isn't an elf as a potential source of food. Humans are great because of their short life spans and the fact that it took only a few hundred years and treating them half decently until they re-arranged their entire culture identity to give their dead over to the elves as a more dignified option rather than just burning them or throwing them in the dirt.
>>97230958Yeah, Drow in a lot of older lore do eat lesser races like Humans, Duregar etc. They don't see it as cannibalism however, because they're 'lesser creatures'.

Previously: https://desuarchive.org/tg/thread/96936967/When last we met, we made G.E.T.S. (Generally Entertaining Team-built System). Thus far, it seems to be a fairly minimalist system. Now, we shall make our first setting for this system. If your proposed idea gets doubles, it is canonized. Any canon characters, worldbuilding, themes, et cetera can be modified (but not outright contradicted or discarded) by triples, quadruples, et cetera.Let us continue.
Pyramids are the most popular architectural form.
The player characters are on a quest to capture numerous fantastical creatures (up to a party of 6), training them until they are strong enough to challenge greater angels and become the champion of whatever their creature-taming-based hierarchy is.
>>97182030All random chance is based on drawing from a pre-shuffled deck of cardsModifying or reading this deck is possible for certain magic users (Including enemies)This deck contains "Calamities" and "Miracles", the equivalent of critsThe deck has a joker, and when it is drawn the deck re-shuffles(What each card means is in a look up table, many are situational.)(None of them are "Wacky" and none are instantly obvious such as "The sky turns red".)>>97193933Exceedingly based
>>97231478>CalamitiesMy dyslexia made me read that as "Catamites".
God is dead and heaven is falling to disarrayThere are many wars yet to be fought by his former followersSome factions maintain that all is a test and the truth will someday be revealedAngels themselves are meant to be one time use, to be made and discarded by god as they please. Each player (And each angel in general) has a single miracle that they are built to cast. They are usually pretty strongAlso there are cute agender cherubsAt some point are we going to stop rolling? take the better ideas and fill in the blanks?

I’m running a low fantasy game, and social advancement is gonna be a thing. So the PCs are gonna be rubbing elbows with a lot of noble families as they make their way into high society. I’m just asking for NPCs and ideas. Most of the nobility are humans, but a few are half-elves and halflings.
>>97233040Be sure to give the players the social status that lets them participate in society and intrigue so that they aren't just stuck watching NPCs do stuff and can actually be the protagonists of the story
>Session 1 of buddy's new campaign>It's clear he hasn't read the rules at all and is totally winging it
>>97230596And yet HE'S actually put together a group, with players, and is out there running the game. That's makes him not only a better gamer than you, but a better human being than you. You should be on your knees thanking him for caring enough to run a game at all, instead of complaining about it online. You can't even muster the balls to bitch to him like a man. Fuck you, kill yourself, and get out. You're too pathetic to even post here.
>>97230596You know /tg/ is shit when people are upset at you for noticing your GM is incompetent. If someone invited you to a game, there actually fucking IS a minimum entry requirement. You should not invite people to a game you care so little about you haven't even bothered to learn the rules. I mean, come on, how is that too much to ask for? How the fuck are you guys actually so lacking in self-worth that you think it's acceptable to be invited to a game where the GM hasn't learned the rules? That's like being invited to a dinner, and you show up and it's not done, burnt, or raw; it's missing entirely because they simply decided not to bother! Why the fuck would you invite someone over for something, and then not bother with the bare minimum? Hey man, if you don't give enough of a fuck about playing a game to learn how the game works, maybe you shouldn't offer to run shit! That kind of behavior is so incompetent, lazy, and disrespectful that it boggles the mind.Ok, fine, be grateful at a base level to all people for wanting to spend recreational time together with me, I feel that, but at the end of the day... Are they a fucking retard? I can be polite to some inept dipshit if they have a profound mental disability like Down Syndrome or something, but it's actually totally fine to expect the bare minimum from people who aren't fucking disabled. You should be able to go into a game trusting that the GM learned the rules, that's not too much to ask.If you volunteer to run some shit, fucking read the rules. Matter of fact, reading the rules should be your number one priority before you go running your mouth about running it at all. How can you even know you like a system if you don't understand how it works? Huh? Is that just irrelevant? I feel like I'm taking retard pills even trying to understand the point of view where it's not taken for granted that the GM has read the fucking rules. It's actually ludicrous to expect anything else.
