This is a second OSRG, seperate from the main osrg thread, where you CAN talk about 2e, retroclones, and any osr content you want. This is different than the regular osrg as due to rampant trolling from a handful of bad actors, discussion is impossible.PREVIOUS THREAD>>97206318
>>97228398Do you ever have anything to say other than just bumping the thread? You ask inane questions over and over, and the only contribution you have to discussion is "Mm, yeah, mhm"
>>97229458>thanks to the BrOSNobody even knows who that is or why the fuck you are so obsessed with it, but I've never heard of it outside of these threads and I've been playing D&D actively for over 20 years. I highly recommend you just go apply to join them, or if you did and failed, you just get the fuck over it already
>>97228501>>97229343No, this is /ACKSg/ as proven by the fact that literally all the game discussion ITT is about ACKS.>>97229756Yeah, that's a rare case of a bad rule by Macris.>class is called Explorer>they can't leave their area of origin to explore distant lands, otherwise they lose abilities"Any known settled territory" is probably too much instead, though. As you level up it just means you know the entire map. I think on each level up you should be allowed to choose between either increasing your radius, OR starting a new "seed" hex somewhere.
>>97229818>or why the fuck you are so obsessed with itIt's just the name his paranoid schizophrenic mind has given to the evil cabal of roleplayers he thinks is gangstalking him. You can find out where he got it if you feel like it but I wouldn't overthink it.
>>97229756I really wouldn't call familiar territory to be a major power. The only thing that it affects is their chance of evasion and their chance of pathfinding. Those are the only two abilities that are dependent on territory familiarity. And also, that's 24 miles per level, by the time you hit third level, if you are having to go farther than 150 miles to the dungeon, before getting back to somewhere familiar, you probably have bigger problems than losing some minor numerical bonuses from the explorer. >>97229828>they can't leave their area of origin to explore distant lands, otherwise they lose abilitiesCan you specifically point out to me where you are talking about this? Because I'm looking at the book right now and it's not even close to what you are describing

Air got some really nice things in Gothic. I'm especially interested in ramping into big guys like The Doom right here. Airborne got a big boost as well. Overall Gothic has done a lot to shore up the power gap between elements and also sow chaos by introducing some pretty wild mechanical interactions. Great artwork, strong spread of power, deep mechanics, oozes with style; by all accounts this is my favorite Sorcery set

>>97227682>too intertwined to warrant 2 completely separate type of resourceWhy not? Just means that you also hand out insanity when you hand out corruption (if it's fitting), not the other way around.>>97227523I think he tried to write "sigh"
>>97227682I disagree. excluding DW the insanity system has concrete mental illnesses you have to roll for like night terrors or compulsive disorders. A chaos worshiper could end up with these but that would be from having regular traumatic experiences not the metaphysical concept of etheric corruption. It's also clearly different than the twisted outlook brought on by corruption and it wouldn't really work as a single mechanic. The insanity mechanic isn't just "he's craaaaazy" kind of characterisation and more an actual mental disorder you can point to medically. i.e What parts of the DSM 4 apply to Kharn the Betrayer?
>>97227682Finding the dismembered bodies of an underhive gang arranged to spell out an insult to the local enforcers should result in gaining insanity (but not corruption), unlike if the body parts had been used to lay out a chaos ritual, which would give both.

Previous thread: >>97111514GURPS is a modular, adaptable system, capable of running a wide range of characters, settings, and play styles, with a level of detail varying from lightweight to completely autistic.Optional rules allow you to emulate different genres with a single system, or even switch genres within a single game.A nearly complete archive of GURPS books can be found by using the image. Never post direct links to the archive anywhere in plain text.If you're wondering where to start:- The Basic Set covers everything, including a lot of optional rules you probably won't use.- A genre guide can be found in the archive, under Unofficial/GURPSgen. It tells you what extra books and articles you may find useful for many common genres.- How To Be a GURPS GM is a good read even for players.- GCS (gurpscharactersheet.com) is an excellent character-builder software, with page references to all the books and the option to export to both Foundry and Fantasy Grounds.Thread question: How often do you use an official GURPS setting?
