>>97268572Oof.Thank you, /tg/ for giving me every week another reason to appreciate my playgroup.
>>97268683IM is still lower on the power level scale and harsh with it's systems like crits or rending. Sounds like they want WANG.>>97268751Well at this stage you really have two options, drop out and find another group (bleak) or stay and try to push the envelope in how whacky you can make your character (also bleak). I'm sorry dude.
>>97268751>>97268842Oh, should add that yeah, talking to them about your feelings is very valid. I like the idea of presenting it in such a way that yep, such flippant abuse of the rules provides a cognitive dissonance and detaches one from feeling like they're real characters and events occuring in the setting.
>>97268842well i'm playing a psyker so pulling bullshit out of my pocket the DM doesnt expect is gonna happen
>>97267827So how is this battlesector game?
I wanted to see what cool maps people had! Bonus points for castles and high res maps, as i love the idea of running some kind of castle seige as those are my favorite maps from Fire Emblem
>>97267111This is a cool prison.
>>97267061I use them in Roll20 (because I'm too dumb to figure out Foundry). Having the visual for distance and positioning is helpful even when not actively engaged in combat scenes.
>>97266734Hang on, this looks really familiar.I'm nearly certain that there's a Rashemi witch in one of those pits in the castle...
>>97261538Battlemaps are the worst.Do you seriously design your games around this sort of shit?
>>97268824What kinda stupid question is that? No: we design our battlemaps around our games.

>>97267722>>97267786There's literally nothing wrong with those games.
>>97267779Xenos Rampant might work if you want to get into a notably different ruleset than GW. Functional enough, fairly abstract but not so shrimplified like Advanced Spelling of Big Acronyms and Heroes.
>>97268539second this, XR very quickly because my favorite 40k-substitute game too. big improvement over previous rampant system games and much better than OPR or the like.
>>97266443You type like a redditor
So was there a good fantasy napoleon game?
You have to play Monopoly.Which Monopoly do you play?
>>97264267All the high grass belong to Team Rocket?
>>97264267I prefer the original. It has stupid rules about effects that happen when you roll doubles.
The monopoly card game is actually surprisingly really fun

This past week or so, I've been trying to teach myself Mythic 2e. Are there any good lewd oracle lists? I've sifted through some of the reading material in the op and really haven't found what I'm looking for.
>>97269256Define what you are actually looking for because i don't see how you can have "lewd oracles" when the standard ones already cover what you need, and don't say "I need an oracle to decide how my female priest is gonna get fucked" because you can just make a table yourself for that.Oracles are just tables so if you want something and you don't find it, make it yourself
>>97269323>Oracles are just tables so if you want something and you don't find it, make it yourselfI mean, I was going to eventually do this when I get more comfortable with the flow of the concept. I guess I just wanted to see some examples of what others are doing. There's meaning tables for objects, powers, smells, scavenging results, starship descriptions, ect; so I was curious what a list for lewd stuff might even contain.

Explain to both players how RPS works, then give them a extension on time for the round, if both players continue, give them each a game warning.
Why were so many of the "OG" game designers insufferable faggots? It seems like the vast majority of game designers from the 70s and 80s were self-obsessed dickheads who openly hated and looked down on their customer base. There were obviously exceptions, and some like Gygax would go on to regret and apologize for it, but still, what made so many "professionals" back then such fags?Pic related: WFRP author James Wallis's response to a letter criticizing how railroaded The Enemy Within campaign was.

>>97260495That's pitiful. I'm gonna write a correction>BAG>Name: Brigade of Assisting Guardians (Unofficially called Bad Ass Geriactrics)Lazlo is a swirling pool of not just magic and technology but also Earth, DBEE, and forgotten earth cultures. This means that the law needs a presence but a soft, understanding, motherly presence. Rather than having armed real police to arrive and make things worse a division of Lazlo citizens, chosen out of statistically understanding demographics was formed. As part of it, it's members were magically augmented to overcome physical disabilities. Old women were the first chosen, with the disabled and mentally informed as auxilery hires.Unforeseeable by anyone, surely, was that BAGs would become the darkest secret in Lazlo history. The records their agents don't falsify are heavily redacted and chronicles the worst beatdqowns in Lazlo history. It turns out that old women can be exceptionally brutal and highly racist when augmented into MD creature physical ability. Are you OD'ing on expired juicer drugs you found in a puddle in an ally? BAGs will bear hug you until toy stomach contents shoot out your ass then heal you from death to bear death, then toss you in lockup. Paperwork will of course say you had aggressive diarrhea and surrendered willingly with the words saying you will accept future wellness checks from BAGs underlined.
I would like to talk about the Chronicles of Darkness game line Deviant: The Renegades, or more specifically, one major upcoming supplement. Deviant was released in late 2021, and has had three additional sourcebooks since then. A new supplement, Black Vans, has been in playtesting for a while, and is currently being previewed.I am not being paid or sponsored to promote this book in any way. I am just very fascinated by it, and indeed, I already ran a mini-campaign using the playtest material.Deviant is, by default, a game about playing angsty, scarred superheroes who either fight world-manipulating conspiracies or work for them. Black Vans is a toolkit full of variant rules, quick NPC creation, variant character types, and variant genres. These variants range from the minor to the dramatic, completely overhauling what were once non-negotiable, foundational themes and mechanics. Maybe your character is not angsty or scarred at all, perhaps they are a """""regular human""""" like John Wick or Batman, or the campaign might have nothing to do with world-manipulating conspiracies. These variant genres include cyberpunk, high fantasy, post-apocalypse, space opera, and superhero emergence. This is a beefy supplement. For example, one chapter alone dedicates 38,000+ words to playing other monsters of the Chronicles of Darkness: Beasts, changelings, demons, Sin-Eaters, hunters (entirely separate from the variant rules for """natural""" superpowers), mages, mummies, Prometheans, vampires, and werewolves. No additional supplements beyond Deviant are necessary; the rules are self-contained, allowing the group to play a monster mash of an urban fantasy setting without needing a daunting 7+ books. And yes, they are supposed to be balanced against one another, so a vampire in the same group as a full-fledged mage is probably some older Kindred.(Continued.)
>>97262563Alright I'm def getting this shit then. The other Deviant supplements were pretty damn crummy so I was hesitant
>>97264048Have you had a look at Shallow Graves yet? It is very comprehensive in expanding player options.

>>97264163According to Eric Zawadzki, Black Vans is coming out on the 1st of January. Thus, you can pick up both Shallow Graves and Black Vans soon enough.

I'm just gonna toss two words in here;WACKY. RACES.You're welcome.
>>97265462I've seen people run Mario Kart with it. Ironically, I think races are what Gaslands is worst at, because rarely does anyone actually finish the race. It's a huge collision clusterfuck right at the start, then weapons come online and the idea of actually racing goes out the window. I much prefer deathmatches or some of the arena types with goals to accomplish.

>>97268499I recently came across the movie Him. I need to sit down and watch it from the beginning but watched a good bit of it to the end. It was surreal and trippy in a weird dreamy way that has fascinated me, especially since my latest interest has been mindscape stuff ala, The Cell or Inception and The Evil Within.
>>97268620Him, the sports horror film? I remember seeing trailers for it and being under the impression it was Jordan Peele's next socially-focused horror flick. From what I recall it was just his production company and a different director. Reception wasn't the best after it came out so I never gave it much mind though I might have to give it a look. It's been years since I saw Inception but I've always wanted to play the Evil Within games proper. Currently I've been on more of a surrealist bend, Blue Velvet was quite enjoyable, and Naked Lunch was an interesting switch-up from Scanners which was a lot less trippy in its presentation. The Cell seems interesting, what's your opinion on it?
