You know I'm going to be honest I never really found the Giovanni lore plausible. They usurped a much larger and more important clan than the Tremere did, did so without any aggressive propaganda to muddy the waters, and have been getting away with neither sect seriously fucking with them for 500 years? Married with how mind-bogglingly stupid Augustus's final plan is, I don't believe he could've pulled something like that off.

The other 3 independent clans get a lot of (deserved) flak, but I'd argue that the Giovanni are just as bad as the Assamites in terms of questionable writing and wildly fluctuating importance/power. They, like the others, work a lot better as a smaller faction on the sidelines. It even makes Augie's ghostpocalypse plan make more sense.

I think it's mostly because of four things.

A) Unlike Saulot, Cappadocius was actually stupid. Dude straight up lost everything but his soul. There was no Cappadocius that was inside Augustus hampering his ability to lead his clan.
B) Necromancy is busted when used liberally. No other Clan, not even Tremere, could counter it perfectly. Sure, Ward against Wraiths and Spirits and such exists but for every Chantry with it, there are 100 places that don't have it. The Underworld is also full of goodies, relics and information that other clans can't get.
C) Camarilla was in hard times. Tzimisce, Ventrue and Tremere fighting with armies and ghouls and whatever. There was a demon invasion in Poland. The whole Transylvania BS. Giovanni was in the perfect place to rise with everyone else too busy to stop them.
D) Unity. Sure, they aren't Tremere level with the Pyramid or Ventrue with their Ethic of Succor but Giovanni is mostly being their own family, did give them more unity than say, Lasombra "We ruin the lives of our childe before embrace" or Gangrel "We leave them to survive for a while after embrace"

Have the dragon maim the manticore in some way so that even if they heal it it won't be physically able anymore. Unless they have the power to restore lost limbs it is basically a cripple that would lose in a fight to much less threatening creatures if simply healed and left to its own devices again. Hell, you could even play it as the manticore having lost its will to continue the fight after getting so thoroughly trounced even if it survives.
This could prompt them to go on a quest to restore the manticore if they deem it important or they could choose to let the manticore pass and avenge it. Even if they were to fully heal the manticore, the shame of being defeated twice and seemingly being unable to ever defeat the dragon could shatter its pride, maybe even more so if it had to rely on the charity of the party to survive. It seems honorable enough for believing in settling debts with strangers, so you could play up that angle if you really want to have a moment.

MTG is in a weird spot where it's only being played because it's being played, not because it's good. People buy into games that they can play locally. So for any LGS, all it would take is a conscious decision to switch to a different main game by the store, but no store has a reason to do that.

if you're making a whole table, alibaba might be an even better option. I do find it advantageous to have a sharp nipper to cut the flash from the plastic plants. While you don't need to do it perfectly, it's nice to make things go faster and easier.

I got bits of very thick corrugated cardboard from a friend after he moved and turned them into containers.
The branding and technical details on it were designed by myself and printed on decal paper.
The results is still a bit of a mixed bag:
>The larger decals broke down during transfer. So I had to cover some of the containers in rust, to hide the defects.
>Even after spraying varnish over them, you can still see the transparent part of the decal. I don't know how I could improve this.

He needs a hit of like 4+ so he hits half the time, call it 25%
He wounds probably also on a 4 or 5 so call it 12.5%
The marine has a 3+ save and two wounds. So 4%, and then the whole thing has to happen again, so we'll call it a 1/1000 chance

Actually its less because the marine hits back, but also more because the guard can try again if he survives the second turn, so... close enough

I have yet to figure out what healing services would cost in B/X world. Days food and water costs 1 gold coin, not peasants yearly wage. With that in mind, it should be around 100 gp per spell level, no? 500 gp? Price of the spell scroll or the inconvenience price for the cleric to lose a spell slot?
Then I can finally set up a multiplier (0.5-1.0) for the XP for Gold spent.

Paragon from SupCom -> Endless gold
Alchemy from Master of Magic -> Turn gold into mana
Magic Flow from Shield Hero -> Spend mana to improve any action without upper limit

If you have a source of endless mana, pick up the Mana Shield spell from Diablo 1, which converts damage into mana drain.

Well, with that setup you do run into physical limitations. The alchemical process from MoM spits out mana in crystal form, and while I imagine you can simply absorb the crystals to fill your mana pool that pool's size doesn't change. Moreover it's one mana point per crystal so you'll quickly hit a limit on how much you can carry. You'd be better off just making or buying Diablo mana potions.
