Intelligence, which effects your Perception, Willpower, and ability to use Mental skills.Health, which effects your fatigue points, ability to resist being stunned or poisoned, and is used for a few niche skills like Hiking.GURPS separates what would be the "charisma" attribute into multiple constituent advantages/disadvantages, including your Voice, Appearance, Charisma (word choice), your skill at certain influence skills (diplomacy, fast talk, intimidation, sex appeal), your social status, and your reputation.

>>96462170>possibly overstepped their bounds in asking for the kids to possibly enter Jedi training- but they didn't force the issue, only extending the offer>The Prequel Jedi's issues are that they are dogmatic, inflexible, and arrogant that they blind themselves to massive issuesIn Living Force the Jedi are noted to openly criticise and reprimand those of their order who "steal" children, and the main guy who used to do it, Sifo-Dyas, was removed from his job plus the entire Council had very little good to say about his antics. There was also a book focused partially on Dooku, where there was a Jedi Master on the Council who was actually in charge of recruitment for the entire Order. She went and got herself knocked up on mission, had the child, then brought the kid in for training and said she "found" it. When the Jedi found out she'd had the child, they removed her from the Council and took her recruitment job away. They didn't kick her out, they just gave her a (still very senior) job in the Archives and library and told her to think about what she'd done and why. Yoda even said bluntly that if she had just asked for help, it would have been offered. They didn't kick out the child, the kid in their eyes did nothing wrong. The thing the mother did wrong was lying about where she got the kid and compromising their recruitment methods. The Jedi seem, based on those two examples, to be very, very cautious and careful about when and how they take children. Even the hint of a Jedi being anything less than up front and above board puts a long-term stink on the Jedi in question from the rest of the Order.
>>96458379Andor was as grim as you can get without going into Wh40K territory
>>96462174My argument is perfectly cogent, you're simply retarded. The writers *intended* to present the Jedi as villains, but were so incompetent they *actually* depicted them as completely justified to any rational, sane observer. This creates huge dissonance in the viewer as the writers repeatedly deploy tropes and character behaviours that make perfect sense if the Jedi are monsters who have done something despicable and shameful, but no sense in the context of the show where all of their actions against the shitwitches were perfectly reasonable.

Built by various shipyards across the galaxy, with varioous reactors, engines, etc., but to a standardized set oof docking ports and dimennsions.I always liked to imagine that a lot of technological objects in the Star Wars setting tend to see licensed (or unlicensed) production runs by a variety of small manufacturers in the Rim in addition to the original manufacturer. I'm pretty sure the original X-wings from the GCW era were supposed to have been made that way, and if widely-distributed small-scale ship manufacturer existed to do thqt then it's probably a common business model.

>>96465470If you're the ref, you can homebrew payouts and progression to boost your players to whatever level you want. If you're doing high-level fixer gigs from big-name corpos, maybe they don't mind dropping 20k eddies spread between a group of 4 or 5 runners. You do a 4 or 5 gigs for them a month, and a single player is sitting on a nice pay package when they close all those gigs. >"Dangerous jobs, but militech pays well for good wetwork."
>>96465710Yeah true but working for a corpo cripples your humanity in the game mechanics or did i missread that.
>>96465776Well, with the new ERMK, you can balance that out with other stuff. >do wetwork during the week.>party with your chooms at the club on the weekend. I think most people cope in Night City with drugs, BDs, or some occasional joytoy visits if they can't find an input/output. As long as you have eddies to burn and aren't super unlucky, it seems like it'd be easy enough to boost your humanity. The ref can also offer up humanity for doing "good deeds" if the alternative for a gig outcome was a less moral but more lucrative path to eddies. I was really unlucky recently since we'd gotten a prize of 4d6 humanity gain, but I got nothing but 1's. Another player got more humanity with one die than I did with 4. Given their windfall, I may be more stingy with luck points (we can use them in shared instances courtesy of our homebrew).>"You got plenty of humanity, I gotta save my luck for when I really need it. Unless you wanna spare me some humanity..." I don't know if the ref will allow that, but I'd give up a crucial luck point in exchange for some extra humanity from another player.
>>96465340>I think the gutterpunk angle Mike wanted was quickly scraped when he left.Agreeing entirely with this post, Fallout's a good comparison. I think from a game development POV they don't want to lock players out of getting flavour that stereotypically a player would like to get to avoid standing out, or to give them the 'feel' of a character that they imagine, without hurdles. Avoiding the whole "How does my large guy fit in there?" "This tavern doesn't serve goblins!" stuff. Kinda sad but w\e. There's room in this world for more settings. It's just that between Red, Cybergenerations, and V3 now broadly outnumbering the one that people think of when they think "Cyberpunk"; I think 2020 was a fluke.
>>96465340I kinda like itYeah 77 has the more “functional” economy but that gutterpunk style and setting makes red feel special from other cyberpunk games and genres. The corps are tough, but because of THEIR own actions their ability to force project is laughable now, so nomads, fixers, and solos begin to dig into their own specialties. The world may be shit, but because the corpos are weak now is the time of the punk. You can’t buy the best assault rifle but if you go outside a city you are now in the wild, less chance of getting fancy toys but the “man” is not on your ass so you can relax a bitOnce it’s 77 you have a “return” to the norm but with everyone (except netrunners and execs) lower on the totem pole again. Now a solo is a dime a dozen, the nomad clans are now secondary delivery rather than the main transport system like they used to be, and a fixer while still in tune with the economy isn’t the gateway between the proles and a banana
Rank every Games Workshop game you've played
>>96465670NTA but compared to 2nd ed, 10th edition seems like GW finally cracked the "balanced, competitive game for tournament play" code they've been trying to crack since arguably 4th edition, but typical of GW they had to sacrifice all of the flavor, charm and character to achieve such results. And even then, the results aren't all that stellar. And really, why the fuck would you want to play 40k at all if all the character is stripped from it? Is that not what attracts the majority of hobbyists to the IP? But yeah, congratulations Games Workshop, you successfully turned your flagship product into fucking Warmahordes. I guess Privateer Press won after all these years, in a philosophical way.
>>96465670What about it? People have tried telling me 10th is somehow better than... whatever previous edition, but no matter what, it doesn't even sound remotely like it's a wargame, but closer to some kind of anti-Calvinball, with the objective of everyone having a bad time for a vast amount of effort, where the 'coolest' thing you can do is roll dice and talk to yourself for half an hour and then your opponent doesn't have an army left to play with so you can all go home early.I stopped at 3rd for good reason. Why would I play something that doesn't even do the good bits of 3rd like being a generally well designed game and having designers that clearly still gave a fuck?
>>96465834But the designers do give a fuck, 10th edition is an actual competitive game like MtG or chess.>>96465740I think it's a worthwhile investment to get rid of perceived "flavor" (that just translates to annoying gimmicks) for the sake of improved game design, anon.

>>96466059>During the Weekly MTG livestream, which revealed Bagel and Schmear, Mark Rosewater stated that it was originally a zero-cost artifact. Designed by Gavin Verhey, this mana cost would have been a flavorful nod to the circular shape of Bagels. Apparently, according to Rosewater, the Play Design team said, “We do not make zero-cost artifacts” after seeing this card.Following this, Rosewater highlighted how they wanted to make an exception for Bagel and Schmear; however, Play Design won out. This led Rosewater to close the section on the card by stating, “We tried very hard to make this zero, and it just… we don’t do that anymore.” While this did seem somewhat like an offhand comment, it seems Wizards is moving away from zero mana artifacts.Should this indeed be the case, it seems like a very safe decision from the Play Design team. Zero mana artifacts have notoriously caused problems in the past, and they’re always teetering on the edge. A zero-cost Bagel and Schmear might seem innocuous, but it’d always be free ramp for Affinity at the very least. In this regard, free spells can be incredibly dangerous, as they can easily cause problems with new or old designs. This, in turn, could overly restrict the Play Design team, preventing them from exploring interesting spaces. That said, it’s not like Wizards has shied away from making zero mana artifacts recently.Somehow, I hate the design team even more after hearing they do have rules, but they break them to sell packs with Vivi as the chase card
