Idk depending on the army you play having dice that roll the 3/4 side consistently over the 2/5 side would be really good. I think I have a couple bricks of 2/5 weighted Chessex dice that I use for Orks that make me pull off statistically improbable amounts of 5+ shots and invulns/fnps. And at the numbers I roll them it'd only take me a month or so to get 1000 rolls.

There are servitors for absolutely any situation.
But I'm honestly not sure if maintaining a servitor for that purpose is actually cheaper than than a regular (and cheap) whore with Imperium's work ethic.
Like the guy say, they are a thing, but are usually mentioned in context of richfag entertainment.
If you're thinking any religious icons, than the first moderately pious guy will report you for heresy. I don't know for celebrities and secular leaders, but again, they live in an Imperium, so consider the planet culture, and legality of the place itself.
>>
>>96762446
I didn't comment because they all look meh. I don't particularly like "regular" long-rage laser battery, so I would make them take up as much power/space as sunsear broadside to represent the humongous power couplings to make laser blasts equivalent to Staravars.
And 13/8 for broadside batteries. Not everything is supposed to be efficient, see and this will discourage basically anyone from using them but stations.

I recommend using Lucius-pattern. Because the forge is known for producing titans, clunky, blocky designs and powerful lasguns in exchange for bulk. Suits having these batteries at least as far as Gothic War.
You can also try to compensate for the bulk somewhat, by adding +1-2 STR or Damage at close range compared to +1 for everyone else.
>>
>>96754724
Missing the all-important Astartes karaoke bar.
>>
>>96765611
I had been heavily considering bulking them out to start with, yeah. Just didn't know how much was too much.
Excellent idea for the name, Lucius is in Segmentum Obscurus too so it makes sense.
I've been flopping between giving them +2/-2 damage for short and long range, +1/-1 instead, or not bothering with special rules. I can probably crib from Grav-Culverins actually, now that I think about it, but what would be a fair range for damage trade? Grav-Culverins are a 40% increase for -2 damage, or alternatively a 30% decrease for +2 damage. That comes out to about Range 8 in this case, so now the question is whether a Range 8 1d10+3 weapon capable of going to Range 12 1d10+1 is worth the price tag, or whatever damage values I eventually arrive at.
>>
>>96768268
Nah, that's no good if they can't even reach range 12, the whole point of such bulk is to enable delivery of standard damage that far.
I'd say simply add +2 damage at range 5 and +1 damage at range 8. That's as far as you go without stepping on anyone's toes. In BFG terms, short range begins at range 6, so it fits.
You can add standard Beam Dispersion if you really want to, but that's not necessary.
I think this way it's an ok heavy weapon.

Reminder though that Culverin +2 damage is range 10, not 5 as it only increases max range.

They want you to buy TOW specific models for TOW because buying AoS models that exist in both systems mean you're buying one kit for two games instead of potentially two kits for two games

welcome to the New School Revolution General, the thread dedicated to games derived from the OSR movement

>What is the NSR?
the NSR is a subcategory of the OSR, it mostly follows the same play style but experiments further with the mechanics and settings
*broadly NSR games*
*have* a gm, a interesting setting, living world
*are* rules light, deadly
*and focus on* emergent narrative, external interaction and exploration

I don't know if people actually read a general from the first post onwards and give up if they don't like the first 10 or so posts.
Generals usually have people popping in and asking or saying something, getting replies, and moving on. Side discussions is the point of having a general.

>>96767597
then maybe the osrg shouldn't be a thread permanently maintained, it doesn't change things about this one
>>
>>96767498
>the previous threads were fine
lmao how many years in a decade?
>>
>>96767461
speaking as a lurker here, that is somewhat interested in nsr systems but doesnt have much experience i am sure there are more people that lurk the general like this.
My personal experience is reading from the first post but skimming over troll posting and all the ACKS arguements.
Don't let the general buckle under the weight of the osr puritans, ACKS shilling and they will eventually tire and leave, at least if people stop engaging them
>>
>>96768412
>greetings fellow kids
>I'm just a regular passerby but my opinion aligns with the troll by sheer coincidence
>>
>>96768412
I don't mind random discussions about whatever, I don't think they ruin the thread. But they hide how little connection there is between the actual on topic posts. In the 3 threads we had I had small exchanges about Mothership and Black Sword Hack, and ignored posts for 4 or 5 other systems. It makes sense, no one has to run the things I like running or would like to run, but that comes from having so few actual posters that there's barely any common ground itt.

>>

I mean i would say its not, it was just a misunderstanding that they got very heated about.

>inquire if they have certain cards and price etc as they dont post singles on their site
>they call me a couple days later saying to come to the store to pick them up
>go down, they pulled like half the list, charged me $100.
>said sorry but I was just seeing what you exactly had and what the price was
>guy gets quite heated, says why did I ask then? I wasted his time
>find out they dont have any kind of tracking or record keeping of their singles so they only do pick lists and expect you to buy it once its picked
>apologize for the misunderstanding but I won't be buying the cards due to price and only having half the set and none of the essential cards
>next time I go in a different guy at the register mentions I have a note on my account, doesnt say what, but literally looks at me and goes "oh..so you're THAT anon huh?"

So yeah my fault i guess for not understanding what a pick list was but it was never explained to me that thats how they operate

Male human fighters can have a ton of backstory and flavor. I've made a human fighter that is the son of ancient royalty for instance, and has a hint of a romantic pairing with a mysterious girl he's had a crush on ever since he met her when he was six. But even the classic "farmerboy turned soldier" male human fighter can have excellent backstories. I mean hell, look at Luke Skywalker from Star Wars.

>>96767018
Naw, I can confirm from playing said male human fighter, who I've given around a millennia of backstory surrounding the circumstance of his family - I've only had the story been engaged with once. I found them pretty fun to play out of battle regardless, since that's just personality and character, but once you get into a fight it's mostly just spamming the attack button.
>>
>>96768295
>Male human fighters can have a ton of backstory and flavor
Key word "can"
Guess what doesn't happen in 9 out of 10 cases.
>>
>>96768295
Besides, I don't give a flying fuck about backstories, I want a player who isn't sitting by the table, doing fuck all and having to be almost forced to speak up or participate. Why even occupying the spot, if you don't plan to play?
>>
>>96768310
This, what most male human fighter fags don't realize is that the stereotype "fighters are boring" doesn't come from the class. It comes from years of the most boring people you know playing fighters.

I'm not even talking about a lack of backstory, because that really doesn't matter. But a total lack of attention, initiative or involvement. Mostfighterfags just exist at a table to bloat the enemy CR limit and nothing else

With this type of playoid you have to basically prompt them for specific plot details/input which will either nudge them to get proactive or admit they're just being whiny for the sake of being disruptive.

Ask them to fill in a plot detail - eg tell the group that the ragged beggar they encounter looks familiar and then ask the player in question who he is(eg they could say the beggar is their former fencing instructor or long-lost brother or whatever). Then you're off to the races.

This is also something I do with the muh realism/anti-metagaming/lone wolf faggots. EG I'll ask the players in session one to explain how they became adventuring companions and what their first quest pre-campaign was like. This just totally heads off the people who want to whine about how their character doesn't trust the others yet.

I seriously downplayed the importance of this card for a Witchcrafter kit until I got back onto the Witchcrafter grindset. It should be no surprise that a card that gives you instant access to your main deck bosses in response to getting ash'd is good, but just being able to put Haine on the field to insulate you from stuff like Imperm and Veiler while you're setting up is pretty freaking amazing. I can probably stand to make the Witchcrafter parts of my deck a lot more compact because of this card.

Pro Elves, or maybe Underworld (any version, though I've played most with pre-2020 roster)

>favorite to play against
Slann, I think?

>least favorite to play

>least favorite to play against
Dark Elves, for being the most boring agility team!
