Would your human male fighter ever consider getting themselves a nice trad peasant wife and settling down in the countryside?

Speaking of every time the leather fag made a speech in front of a crowd of nonhumans they always cheered. Like no matter what. He would always say “and his words are met with roaring applause” or some shit like that.

male human fighters are built for they/them tiefling pussy

This. Tiefling pussy is always better when they've also got a demonic feminine penis adjacent.

>Would your human male fighter ever consider getting themselves a nice trad peasant wife and settling down in the countryside?
Yes, of course. In fact, that's where my human male fighter came from: His human male fighter dad settled down with a trad peasant wife and produced the next generation of human male fighter. My character's goal is to continue that legacy.

>What is Trench Crusade?
An alternate weird history 28mm/32mm tabletop skirmish game. Based on the art and lore of Mike Franchina, whose illustrations you may have seen floating around on /tg/ for a several years now, and designed by Tuomas Pirinen, one of the original creators of Mordheim. It's grimdark, it's visceral, and it's very Blanchitsu.

>What's the QRD on the background?
The Knights Templar turned heretic and opened the Gates of Hell when they took Jerusalem during the First Crusade. Over 800 years later the war is still ongoing as technology has developed to a pseudo diesel-punk WW1 standard and a third of Humanity has sided with the Infernal Princes.

>How do I get started?
All the files are free online:
https://www.trenchcrusade.com/rules/

They used to be split between the website and the discord, but no more. For posterity's sake, the old mega will still be kept active even if it's unlikely to need updating: https://mega.nz/folder/70QH0BBa#Eg-blxYQKkY_C02wErnFTQ

Anon as a Heretic Legions player, you have to be so fucking vile that the literal gates of Hell find no goodness in you. If you're found to be less than a total uncomprimising irredeemable piece of subhuman shit, your soul burns before the hellgate for eternity.
There is no gray with that.
Hell are in fact the bad guys even if they have the barest argument that God's creation being imperfect means that he created suffering explicitly.
>>
>>97825959
In my mind the whole purpose behind playing Heretics is to play as the bad guys.
>>
>>97826244
Oh yeah being the bad guys is fun, especially when we get cool shit like the woof and witch, they're also just fun to play, drop your doods down, they cast gun or beat the shit out of a guy. No eking out every drop of performance you can, just doods in a trench
>>
>>97824034
This is unironically the answer but it's unfortunately impossible because the creators are already brainpozzed by the mind virus. Sad to see. I wanted to like this game but I can't support it.

What is the best kind of Dragons for a game. Just the standard, firebreathing scally Dragon? Or is it better for a game to give your players variety?

Witch IS pathfinder's equivalent to warlock, it doesn't have eldritch blast or anything but both are arcane spellcasters who get their magic from a pact with a powerful magic entity. Although I'll give you pathfinder's patrons lean towards the more distant and mysterious rather than the kind that has a chance to breath down your neck.

>>97813494
It also makes sense that witch and warlock would get mixed up in localization considering warlock is often the term for a male witch and witch hunting people thought all magic came from pacts with the devil anyways.
>>
>>97826796
Honestly Oracle? Is probably the closest to a Warlock. You aren't making a pact but you are getting fucked around with.
>>
>>97826527
This one's good but frankly the most busted shit in that book are the benefits of the Order of the Chain.

At 8th level they get a 2 action activity thats basically slam down but for grapple. Except if you use a flail or a spiked chain, you upgrade successes to crits on the grapple.

And then at 12th for another feat they just get to ignore crit fails on all Grapple checks. Oh and also once you have someone grabbed, if they fail to Escape they actually crit fail instead (so they cant try again until their next turn) and if they crit succeed (which would let them move away for free) it gets downgraded to a pass.

Paizo really arent beating the allegations of not playtesting this shit. And it stands out even more because the other hellknight options are meh, except the one that lets you be a peeping tom.
>>
>>97827208
https://2e.aonprd.com/HellknightOrders.aspx?ID=1
It's a reprint, but also a buff.
>>
>>97826796
Since at least Occult Adventures in 1e, Paizo's been piecemealing the Warlock kit and ideas to various classes. Especially once D&D5e hit, they saw the frankly overloaded class, and just decided to not do it for 2e.
>Witch takes the lore of the mysterious patron that gives free powers for nothing and cantrip buffs
>Kineticist takes the one-action cantrip blasts and at-will powers
>Psychic takes the limited spell slot design for focus on buffing cantrips
>Magus takes Pact of the Blade/Hexblade shenanigans and very limited spell slots (Bounded Spellcasting would be far more palatable a design if it was 6 slots over 4).
>Summoner got Pact of the Chain and very limited spell slots

In some ways, a good portion of 2e's lifespan was spent chasing the Warlockfags without wanting to commit to a full Warlock kit, to only mixed success. People just value the Warlock's nonsense too much to compromise on. Compare to how Artificer got split between Alchemist, Inventor, and now Runesmith and barely anyone bats an eye.

We adventured and moved fairly quickly from beating up rats and goblins to beating up dragons but … while it was interesting it wasn’t fulfilling.

We decided to retire from adventuring for a bit. While saving princesses and ridding towns of evil curses was good in the short term it just seemed we could be doing more with our talents.

It may have been a bit crazy but… I decided to open a Magical Girl Academy. We found those with talent and need for the power, I awake their star seeds and then we trained them in our accumulated skills.

People may have laughed at first at the idea of champions of love and justice in miniskirts, however that died out quickly.

I had grown fairly good at understanding who I could trust with such powers. However this time the threat came from without instead of within.

We wound up a bit too successful and wound up a target of several evil organizations and gods. At first it started off with assassination attempts, but quickly moved on to an all out war as our enemies united together.

Unfortunately our enemies knew of our overwhelming power so they would strike in the most cowardly way possible, it’s tough to handle a bunch of killers when they hole themselves up in an orphanage. However we adapted.
I had a bit of skill in stealth and we got some help from others of such shadowy inclination to make a Magical Girl Wet Works wing of the operation. Those who struck from shadows to take out evil and vanish with precision and stealth as opposed to loud and flashy power.

>Race: Half Celestial Kitsune
The Half Celestial part should have an interesting effect on your thoughts, but one you should like. You know how people sometimes feel impulses to do bad things, but with the Good subtype (which I think you should have as a Half Celestial) you instead feel good impulses, and doing anything evil would be as unnatural and unpleasant as an arachnophobe looking at a collage of spider pictures.

Bit confused on how this line is meant to be used. clearly something it going to give them blocker and/or alliance but being titan trait makes them unusable with all the existing O12 that want to swarm with only Iliad
>>
>>97827300
They're blockers in Factorial Area, probably Alliance targets in Gear Forest, and Orochimon can play most Titan level 4s to trigger a trash from hand for Titamon/Titamon-B's All Turns effects
>>
>>97827292
Unless they go outside of what's in the game, Guardromon can't be a part of it.
ToyAgumon > Raremon > Dragomon is the only way to do it to stay game-legal.
>>
>>97827300
They're not for an OXII zoo deck, they're for a Gear Forest deck. So yeah, blocker and/or alliance, effects that can choose to suspend your own digimon, and probably effects that suspend your own Digimon to do something else.
It is even possible (if unlikely) that Ceresmon has Digisorption again.

>Cyberpunk 2020 vs. Cyberpunk RED?
Cyberpunk 2020 is the second edition of the Cyberpunk TTRPG by R. Talsorian Games, set in a (then) future inspired by film noir and the dark science fiction films and books of the late 20th century. It focuses on simulationist gameplay and lethal near-future combat.

Cyberpunk RED is the latest edition of the Cyberpunk TTRPG, set after the devastating Fourth Corporate War. It focuses on more balanced, streamlined gameplay and is currently supported by R. Talsorian Games.

Was there anything at all genuine and fun that you experienced from game companies for April Fools this year? Or was it all just shitty corpo cringe by out of touch boomers trying too hard?

I'll admit, 5 years ago I would have loved to watch an Inside the Chieftains Hatch video on the Chimera, but I watched this whole thing and only even lightly chuckled once ("Chimera track durability is perfect because no Chimera has ever outlived its tracks"). I don't think anything about gaming genuinely brings me any happiness anymore. It's all just tiresome and clocked in layers of redundant irony and mostly just conjures up regrets about how much more fun games used to be, instead of imagination or anticipation of games to come.

Anyway, I'll share the video. Maybe it can make one of you happy.

Welcome to the Old School Renaissance General, the thread dedicated to first-decade, Gygaxian D&D, its faithful modern clones, and content created for use with them. Later editions (2e and newer) should be discussed elsewhere.

Broadly, OSR games encourage a tonal and mechanical fidelity to Dungeons & Dragons played as intended by its creators from 1974 to 1983 — less emphasis on linear adventures and overarching metaplots and a greater emphasis on player agency.

If you are new to the OSR, welcome! Ask us whatever you're curious about: we'll be happy to help you get started. We also have two excellent beginner guides created by Anons with feedback from the thread that you can check for help:

From a paleontological viewpoint, the "dinosaurs had feathers" line is overstated. The best evidence we have is that it was primarily or nearly exclusively theropods, and even then coelurosaurs, and even then not even all coelurosaurs

Likely to had/have feathers
>modern birds
>tyrannosaurs
>a lot of raptors
>ornithomimosaurs (ostrich like dinosaurs)
>compsognathids (no common name but I think the little chicken sized ones are in the Jurassic Park movies)

Not known to have feathers, or even strongly believed not to because because high quality skin prints have been found

Wait, so, tyrannosaurs had feathers but not the morphologically near-identical allosaurs? How does that work? Freakishly convergent evolution? Tyrannosaurid carcinization?

>There's a problem with pic related and it's not that the blue-grey spinosaur is featherless. What's the problem?
Just guessing here, but some possibilities:
>the parasaurolophus was a swamp/shore dwelling animal and wouldn't be fucking around on a dry plain of some sort
>I think it's supposed to have a ducklike bill rather than a deer muzzle?
>for all I know the two species were separated by millions of years and/or existed on separate continents

They probably did, there's a lot of pushback against feathered dinos on 4chan as part of the whole anti-modern-[blank] thing. /an/ in particular has a schizo who thinks that it's a secret plot by the jews, trying to turn dinosaurs gay, lol
