Maybe the best AI I've seen at making coherent background and objects. Seems highly censored though. Would not make Bingbing face an orc in battle and doesn't want to give her her canon body proportions. Just first impressins though. Just started messing with it after seeing anon's post and haven't fenagled it much.

Bolas is the easiest and most accessible way. By rules you even get penalty only on the attack roll if you don't have the proficiency and trip is a touch attack.
>>
>>97198175
>Bolas
>Range Increment 10 ft. (thrown)
useless past 50ft
>>97197607
>Making every single flier in the game... impossible to bring down without magic isn't an improvement.
except as posted above Manticores are actually easy to bring down.
An old dragon has a Fly skill of +8. meaning it has a slight chance to descend but if one manages to give it a -3 or larger penalty to that skill, it becomes possible to make it plummet.
>>
>>97197607
Griffon +6 fly.
Most winged fliers can be brought down with called shots to the wing. you take a -4 penalty for that, but that's much more viable than a 50ft bolas which shouldn't even work on anything larger.
If anything its 3.5 that makes fliers impossible to bring down.
>>
>>97198770
No, it's not more viable, a DC 10 check to lose 10 ft of altitude when hit is a joke and won't do shit.
>>
>>97198770
>called shots

Why do DMs love putting paladins into 'you must fall' scenarios?

Low hanging fruit for inexperienced dms
>>
>>97180635
Because Americans are taught since the moment they can barely speak that "MUH CONFLICT" is the only viable and possible narrative, to the point they reduce just about everything to "MUH CONFLICT".
And then they wonder why they are such tards.
>>
>>97196956
>Because Americans
Opinion discarded
>>
Why don't paladin players act like paladins? There's no danger of falling if you do
>>
>>97180635
Same reason they put regular characters into "you must die" scenarios. Because without the actual threat consequences, there is nothing to be gained

I feel like this edition has alot of objectively bad things about it and is absolutely where the alot of worst qualities of current editions showed up. But I feel like I prefer playing this edition compared to a lot of previous editions and 10th edition. Its a weird transitional period where there's still a lot of the old units that haven't been legended yet while still having the fucking Primaris lot. Its strange but I don't feel like I'm missing out on much staying on this edition and playing with friends casually instead of going back to playing the current edition.

It was a great edition, as long as you didn't actually play it or compare it to previous editions.
>>
>>97189772
3rds "index" version was much better.
>>
I had fun with it when it was indexes-only and all the rules felt very pared-down and straightforward with simple buff auras (re-roll 1s to hit, re-roll 1s to wound, ect).

Then the stratagem-bloat happened.

Isn't the point of DnD to insert your own ideas into a tabula rasa? The settings provided give you a scaffolding that you then build off for yourself. Like Neverwinter is an actual place, but it's the DM that decides that there's a magic academy there and Grinko McFucko is the headmaster, not any kind of sourcebook.
>>
Should I have a high-CR celestial succubus/incubus rape a tiefling PC and transform them into an aasimar? Mechanics-wise this will be a boon as they'll get aasimar features in addition to keeping (reflavoured) tiefling ones.

Welcome to the Old School Renaissance General, the thread dedicated to first-decade, Gygaxian D&D, its faithful modern clones, and content created for use with them. Later editions (2e and newer) should be discussed elsewhere.

Broadly, OSR games encourage a tonal and mechanical fidelity to Dungeons & Dragons played as intended by its creators from 1974 to 1983 — less emphasis on linear adventures and overarching metaplots and a greater emphasis on player agency.

If you are new to the OSR, welcome! Ask us whatever you're curious about: we'll be happy to help you get started. We also have two excellent beginner guides created by Anons with feedback from the thread that you can check for help:

Halflings are guerilla fighters through and through.
Despite their size they are disproportionately strong, exceptionally skilled at disappearing in their environment, and naturally good shots with ranged weaponry.
Really, halflings are just pygmy vietcong, and I like it.
Fuck gnomes tho
>>
>>97198825
As an addendum, the ability requirements demonstrate that in the setting, no halfling will ever have a negative CON or DEX, making them tougher and quicker than humans by average.
Conversely, this implies that per capita halflings tend to have more people with a bonus in this scores.

All in all, this stacks them up to be a pretty formidable force, and I respect that.
They have strong proclivities for creature comforts, and the large family style community bonds disinclined them from adventuring, which is why halfling adventurers are seen as rare or unusual, but halflings are naturally extremely protective of those same creature comforts and family, which has led to them becoming incredibly fierce fighters in order to combat threats of the greater world around them.
Gaining a defensive bonus on anything larger than man-sized is also a great boon considering that this means they are inherently more capable of fighting off threats from monsters, both at home and abroad

A thread to talk about minis and games which fall between the cracks, or peoples' homebrew wargames.
The >>>/tg/hwg thread doesn't entertain fantasy (for good reason) and the other threads are locked to more specific games.
This thread isn't tied to a game, a publisher, or a genre, let's just talk about fun wargames. Any scale, any company, any miniatures.

>Examples of games that qualify.
A Song of Ice and Fire, Argatoria, Batman Miniature Game, Carnevale, Conquest: The Last Argument of Kings,
Deadzone, Dragon Rampant, Dropfleet and Dropzone Commander, Freebooter's Fate, Frostgrave, Gaslands, HeroClix,
Kings of War, Maelstrom's Edge, Malifaux, Marvel Crisis Protocol, Masters of the Universe: Battleground, Moonstone,
Oathmark, OnePageRules, Open Combat, RelicBlade, Rumbleslam, SAGA, StarCraft, Stargrave, Sludge, Urban War, Void,

Such as? There are still articles about genocide, torture, rape, and human experimentation.
>changed “problematic” articles to fit their criteria.
Are you going to say the teenage succubus or door knob joke as examples? The succubus was rewritten because the author, Clef, allowed it. He admitted to writing it while he was a teenager and never felt satisfied with it. Barely anyone cared about it until the rewrite. The door knob was edited by the original author out of political spite. It still ends with the joke of wanting to fuck it though.

Been a hot second since I visited! Fun to see the local quasi-incestual Toreadors keep up the drama, life'd be boring without them.
Lavender's gone from laying about all-catatonic to hitting whoever he touches with some mild electricity. It'd not be so bad if he didn't fry my tablet when I went to check on him. He so fucking owes me.

Queen of Swords - Upright. Justice; truth; self-sufficient independence.
Love you may find yet, but you should not lower your standards for it, nor should you let it be a matter of dependence, where you needily cling onto somebody because they've showed you some affection and let you sleep in their bed. Seek out somebody who you could be on even terms with, in a balanced, fair arrangement, dollface, the cards suggest there is that somebody out there.
You just won't find them if you, in desperation, give up on caring for yourself and your own best interest.

>>97181158
I'm going to guess that he'll tell you literally everything personally soon enough, but with him it's not even something reasonable like 'oh no, Nosferatu Prime is really good at invisibility, what if he's hidden a whole layer of existence and I'm right now knee deep in gore of my family or something'. I'm professionally offended by hazy portents of doom nobody can act upon.

>>97196311
>And if you wanna suggest or tell me anything you think the clan of whiny fetishists won't teach me, lay it on me.
Four of Cups - Upright. Apathy; stagnation; inertia. Common card for all of us, but especially for Toreadors, since in the big picture, every party's the same and every outfit's the same.
Try and not let the night-to-night entertainment and debauchery distract you from whatever sort of goals you might've had, or might yet have.

Have I posted about my theory that the reason Muan revenants look like Romans is because the first ones were actually the Lost Legion who went missing in Britain? I think that would be a fun thing to tie together, especially if it's connected to the Roman camp found by the KoB when they were initially trapped and King Arthur's wild ride.
I've been meaning to write about the period between the conquest of Greece and the Byzantine empire where I think Atlantis might have been in a secret war with Rome. That one needs more time in the oven at least.

I don't see any reason why it wouldn't be Dehli again.
While we're on the topic, do you think that more of the future Princely states would join the rebellion with Lemurian nudging? I'm wondering about that since if not there's got to be some heavy internal wars after the British are kicked out, or otherwise there are still independent states on the subcontinent.

That does seem to be the running theme of Star Wars series:

>Mandalorian
Mostly about Baby Yoda and Bo-Katan
>Book of Boba Fett
Mostly about Mandalorian
>Kenobi
Mostly about that black lady who i never bothered to learn the name of.
>Ahsoka
Mostly about Sabine
>Bad Batch
Mostly about Omega
>Andor
Mostly about Mon Mothma and Luthen Rael.

This is mostly pushed by the Wachowski's themselves. Although, everyone else both in production and any actual "Media Literacy" (Pun Intended) Will tell you that the whole thing was the pair of them going:
>"Wow, this Anime thing isn't well known in the general public zeitgeist. What if we were to steal a bunch of concepts and scenes directly from a bunch of Cyberpunk anime, like Ghost In The Shell, Akira and Bubblegum Crisis and disguise it as our own original idea's? Hohoho, delightfully Devilish, Wachowski's!"
And then after they got big and successful with that first film, the second and third were written by the budget
>*Finishes line of coke* "So, hear me out, what if we just built 5 miles of Free-way?" "Why?" *Does another line of coke* "WHO CARES!? WE GOT MONEY AND WE'LL FIGURE OUT SOMETHING!"

Okay, so I'm not schizo, it is just a traditional cyberpunk-type story, drawing off of some of the founding materials from the East.

Frankly, not all that unusual for American directors. Magnificent Seven from Seven Samurai, or even the shit Lucas lifted for Star Wars.

>Empire in Andor isn't the Empire though.
It isn't, that's true. It's the Empire still trying to control people through normal banal methods until palps can commit genocide on a whim.
