>>96669568The SoT4 book mentions CK Squires (no stats) and CK Hermits (old retired CKs with huge stat penalties, but sometimes they have weird future visions or some shit).Same book also said the default CK is the Courtier CKLight Armor CKs who tend to travel anonymously and only show their CK armor/weapons when shit hits the fan are Crusaders who are implied to have more powers/talent, but also are more interested in going after huge goals (uprooting a massive slavery operation, bringing peace to wartorn areas, etc). Then the heavy (or even power armor) CKs were called the Champions, where the book implies they have a fuck ton of physical/weapon skills and basically can't lose a 1v1.And that's not counting the evil CK variants the book talks about.None of which have any stats, except those Hermits.>>96666756>The CKs not having the CS antidemon powers is hilarious so i think i should be fixedHoly fuck those powers pissed me off.Not only CS only anti-demon powers, but then the fucking HOLY SMITE.The rarest fucking ability in Palladium, only usable by Palladins (fantasy) and one school of Monks (Fantasy and Japan).Comment too long. >>96694104Metalheads are to be the official TW 'Borg OCC.TW Power system that holds I think one or two hundred PPE & can be spent to power TW devices & Bionics, it restores 4pts per active hour & 8pts per resting hour.Appearance ranges all over because they aren't standardized yet. No clue on stats of the chassis or the rest of the OCC information other than rumors I've chased. A very nice anon shared photos of his book on here but was very reluctant to share more. He posted the list of new TW Bionics which was honestly phenomenal. A Fight Mask effect for Horror Factor, spstealth system, silent flying, etc. Really nice abilities including a dragonbreath weapon. The highlight for me personally though, was the TW portal generator. Built I to the arm/hand of the TW Borg is a device that allows them to teleport using portals & if given enough time to charge it up (1d4 full rounds) they can jump dimensions. FUCKING A. No need for pyramids or depending on ley lines & moon phases. Semi-reliable dimensional travel literally installed into your fingertips. Let's a Metalhead truly be the freest character in the Megaverse

Now that the latest Labyrinthus updates added new content for crafting tents and such, I'm doing a harem run where I'm crafting the camp from scratch and then filling it with NPCs I find. So far, I’ve managed to craft two tents and convince an Apsara Forager and a Nephilim Pilgrim to join. The new expanded tables for the Overworld are also much better.

I need wacky ideas for magical sex toys or lewd magic trinkets that might exist in a fantasy setting. What I have so far,>Laying Egg "A firm, somewhat yielding, egg shaped object. When squeezed it teleports into the holders vagina or anus. The egg can't teleport if the space is already occupied.">Animal Ring. "A series of magical rings, each one is attuned to a specific animal. For as long the ring is worn, the wearer has their genitalia transformed into that of the rings namesake. For example, the Wolf Ring grants the wearer a canine penis or vulva.">Duplicate Clay. "A perfect sphere of gray clay. When the command word is spoken, it turns into an incredibly lifelike and exact replica of the genitalia of whoever the holder happens to be directly looking at when the word is spoken. Speaking the command word again reverts it to a clay sphere."Sneak Peek Mirror. "A palm sized reflective disk, pointing at a target while holding the disk reveals an image of the targets nude genitals, as seen from the angle that the holder is pointing at.">Everfull Mug of Girl. "Unlike other Everfull Mugs, when the command word is spoken it only produces 12 ounces of warm breast milk three times per day. It duplicates the exact flavor of whichever female held it last."

In the initial Trial of Position to join the Warrior Caste, is it correct that the cadets get a Heavy and are expected to each fight a Light, Medium, then Heavy in sequence (assuming the Trial goes normal way and the cadets don't start a melee)? It seems like they'd have a pretty high success rate if their first matchup is Heavy vs. Light, even if the other guy has a little more experience. That also seems like it would make it really common for low-ranked Warriors participating in the Trial to actually get killed, resulting in unsustainable attrition rates. I suspect I'm missing something. Are there some kind of qualifier Trials to decide what Mech the cadet gets or what opponents he faces?
what's y'alls tips on highlighting and shading? I have it down, sort of, but when using a color like Xereus Purple, is seems like it takes a lot of work to make it stand out. like it's still too dark
>>96695386It's all politics, crazy Kat was put in a Warhawk against a Victor because she pegs the khan nightly. What you get and what you fight is not arbitrary or objectively fair.
How do you prefer your magic, and how did you design the system for your setting?
>>96693199That's similar to what Pendragon did before taking out all magic.I recall some system using a list of questions to define a spell's cost, probably a Free League or PbtA thing, it was pretty nice. Very exploitable but you were intended to try to do that.
>>96693295I'm fine with some level of exploiting the rules. I consider that to be part of the game.If the spell ends up being more powerful than I thought, I increase the difficulty. Most players don't ask questions. If they do, I just armor it in setting and flavor- "the arcane energies are different today. The forces of reality push back against you."Basically, not that different from the Paradox system that another anon wrote about previously.
>>96617229Are there any species in your setting that have particular affinities for a specific kind(s) of magic, and why that kind if so? I found this image and liked it, so Catfolk in my setting have a strong affinity for necromancy and related spells now.
>>96617229Magic is setting literal rules even if those rules somewhat conflict with reality. What this means is you can set a rule to create a fireball, and you can set a rule to curse someone. But because it's very literal, you can slip out of a lot of it via bullshit.
>>96695452What this means is that wizard battles become more like lawyers arguing and counterspelling, or doing stuff from very far away and setting them in motion. Fights against wizards often work around figuring out the trick to a trap or spell

Does anyone still play Shadowrun? I always liked the "what if cyberpunk had fantasy races/magic" setting so it's pretty sad that the franchise is so dead.
>>96665856>Cyberpunk is a very political genre, getting into the right mindset to write a cyberpunk story almost necessitates that you at least hate rich people and corporations.Tell me you don't understand cyberpunk without telling me you don't understand cyberpunk. Cyberpunk =/= class warfare and neither was the 70s punk movement.
>>96692670The funny thing is that cyberpunk has been updated, in the literary world at least. You even know some of the titles, like Altered Carbon. It seems to be Hollywood and the theater kids that run most of entertainment that got stuck int that late 80s early 90s version of it.

>>96692111You very much feel like you're a sideshow playing it. It isn't that railroady, but you start off feeling thay way and it carries over. It's all about the wizard elf and his actions, even if he isn't doing anything. The tldr is It's a series of adventures in the metaplanes, your team is chosen for whatever reason by the Powers, plucked out of their bodies and sent off to act as champions to stop wizard satan and his legions from kicking down the door to reality 2500 years early to ask where the white women are at. You go through several small adventures in medieval metaplanes land and then kill mexican wizard satan disciple, who is unironically fantastic. Check out the threats (or threats 2) pdf and look up Mr. Darke/Oscuro - he is a right bastard and a great in world demonstration of how terrifying a mage COULD be (It's implied the things he gets up to with the guy writing the entry is just a quick side show for him, a way to burn a few weeks. A spot of fun. None of it is too far from a starting mage's abilities. Poor Stinky. But that's not related to this ramble.)There's no material rewards or anything, and characters die at the end. Maybe. They're asked to sacrifice themselves, and even if they do they can be deemed as surviving. It's odd. It's very much an adventure for metaplot. Deckers aren't left out, there's lots to do, but by the end you probably don't feel like you've played a shadowrun adventure.
How derivative is your setting?
>>96693798Yes, Eragon would be an example of doing it wrong. Although I think he could've gotten away with it if he just did another pass on the names and made a few more simple twists on the formula. Like maybe having Eragon living with Brom from the outset and replacing Arya with some bro elf (making some other character the love interest, obviously).
>>96694406he'd make Saphira the love interest if he wasn't a coward
>>96652010What are some great settings to use for inspiration besides picrel?
>>96689408There's also that Paolini grew up as the sheltered and home schooled, nerdy kid of rich parents. The idea of having a telepathic best friend that's always with you and super powerful might have been attractive to him. It apparently was to many of his young readers. I think Paolini is a bit of a tragic figure actually. He grew up isolated and then at 19 was paraded around the media as a supposed prodigy where everyone heaped praise on him. I don't even think he means it with arrogance when he says of himself that he's as good as "Tolkien at his best". That's just what he's told, and he is too clueless to realize this could be a controversial statement. >>96675352>>96678146Yes, it's seething jealousy. >>96692843see>>96694633Pellaeon is different for the sake of looking different, and basically comes off as looking shittier. I'm not gonna call it the worse design ever to bait out the shitposter, but it's definitely not an impressive design. It's no ISD, and it doesn't even work as a good ISD support ship, because it diverges from Imperial aesthetics we know so much.
>>96694734This is incomparable because if you park an American ship in real life next to a Russian ship, no one but military nerds would be able to tell them apart. This is clearly not the case even when you have professional military forces, like the CW era Republic vs. CIS going at it. They are clear, distinct, different productions, different designs. A lot of the book is in-character (which I don't love) so there are different characters talking so there isn't a single voice but I think they're playing towards a lot of the same themes. >>96694811Neither. There isn't a masquerade and the supernatural is more out in the open but it's not a fully accepted fact of life where everyone gets along. There is a cultural shift towards belief in the supernatural, and people tend to be much more superstitious, but it's not absolute and there are plenty of things that do not want you to know they're there. There might be an openly practicing witch and she might offer her services, and her customers might think she's supernatural, and people aren't likely to to call you insane for believing it, but not everyone is going to immediately go "ah, yes, witches are real". I think it's hitting a good balance between hidden dark corners without everything being a secret society, and also having enough difference from our world without feeling like it's a full on fantasy world.

>>96688538Savor. Just keep reading. Look up words when you don't know them. You will get more developed in your ability to comprehend as you go. Don't rely on speed reading techniques.
>>96644491I visited the library often this year while unemployed. but I'm about to be shackled again so that gets harder to do. I have three bookshelves I share, latest find is Welcome to the Monkey House. I'm currently reading All Quiet on the Western Front, The Crystal Shard, and last book I bought for full price was Monalisa Overdrive since it's impossible to borrow, looking forward to starting that next once one or both of the current ones are done. I have a hard time chewing on only one story at a time.
>>96688538>does anyone have tips for increasing speed while also maintaining comprehension?Well, if anyone ever invents time travel you could go back a couple of decades and make yourself read more as a small child. That's definitely crucial. Although I suppose if time travel existed you would already have done that and we wouldn't be having this conversation.Honestly, like so many skills the key is just repetition. Don't overthink it, don't confuse things with fancy techniques. Just find things you enjoy reading and let yourself pick it up naturally by just immersing yourself in it.That said, if you have undiagnosed dyslexia or something like that, there are specialised fonts that can help. It also sometimes helps to get your eyes tested; if your vision is a little off it might be forcing your brain to do a bit of extra processing to work out what the words say. It's quite easy to have vision that's good enough to get by in day to day life but could still be improved with glasses. (likewise, if you already have glasses your proscription might be a little off). I mean, it's probably not that, but it's worth checking. >>96689346All Quiet On The Western Front is one of those books I've always meant to read but never got around to. Is it any good?

>>96639621For Dwarves I just try to make Tolkien sounding names. Thoroun, Snoli, Thuriz, Nilni, Thanuz, Fundig, Boriz, etc. Then I give them a patronymic surname, ban (son of), bar (daughter of), or fro (wife of) something or other. So you could have Thoroun ban Thanuz, and his wife might be Umili fro Thoroun. And they might add their clan name to that. And this full name would be their secret name only fellow dwarves know, and other races would know only their first name and a nickname. So Thoroun might be Thoroun ban Thanuz Nainazar to dwarves, but Thoroun Steeltoe to humans
