The experiments are to test the limits of how much the "reality" of the world can be fucked with before people notice too hard.

It starts as a slow creep before the overt stuff happens and everything is thematic to the situation.

butt fuck nowhere USA with perfect white bread american ideal townsfolk? They are all secretly monsters pretending and the uncanny valley ramps up until they mask off.

Random inner city USA? The faceless masses of people will randomly become monsters that hunt you down but non one else notices what's going on or your own presence even as they are attacked in the process.

Typical desert village except you have to hide from some super giant monster that randomly spits out smaller monsters.

Basically, boxed in experiences where the situation decays and forces the PCs to survive as long as possible fore they move on to the next box.

I for my part are somewhat interested int he cult, but having only dumbasses with pistols and baseball bats as your standard troops seems somewhat difficult.
Ah, and a good 2026 to you all, anons.

So i briefly dipped my toe in the latest edition when Nemesis Claw came out but too many other games kept me busy but two things have gotten me interested and again and modern googles dogshit and keeps confusing editions.

1: I was gifted a random box of Rubric Marines for christmas by a relative, never played any Thousand Sons in 40k. Are they usable in Kill team in this edition or is it just bespoke premade teams you select a few models from per match?
2: Back in og kill team a normie friend who loved tyranids played with us when i bought and painted him the box that was just like 10 Genestealers, its his birthday in 3 weeks and i was looking at that recentish Tyranid box. Is that a deal like Nemesis Claw? Or can he use like three or those and some of his Genestealers for example?

Also did my nurgle lads every come back or am i still sticking to Gellarpox?

Took about an hour just to clip all these parts off the sprue. I'm guessing it'll take another two to scrape off mouldlines. Definitely the least fun part of the process for me. I believe one of the sprues containing two longer wall sections was bent into a curve, which I'm hoping won't have a major effect on the final build or can be fixed.

>>97274755
No long range response options is a pretty rough handicap for sure. It lets your opponent take up some really aggressive positions, especially on high grounds. Plus chaos cult is, if I've understood things correctly, somewhat reliant on perfect distance management and some tricks that I can only equate to physics engine exploits to compete. The few times I've played against them it was just a matter of taking the objectives in ways they couldn't contest and eliminating any of the council + basic cultists, resulting in the rest having no ability to grab points afterwards. They can also get stonewalled by some teams that inflict to hit penalties in melee.
But they're good shenanigans even so. Depending on what you find fun, they can give some fun results.

And yeah, a good new year for the lot of us. A few hours in so far and nothing has gone horribly wrong yet.

Probably spearhead. Except instead of getting the spearhead box you go to https://www.hachettecollections.com and get the relevant kits for the sylvaneth spearhead. FYI you'll need to buy kurnoth seperately and spirit of durthu comes in two kits but you still save like 50 bucks. You can also get the spite revenants and the arch revenant at a serious discount on there. In my brief look at deciding if I wanted to play sylvaneth, I realized a lot of people sell entire lots of them on facebook marketplace and ebay, so finding stuff second hand at a discount shouldn't be too hard.

>Pickup games are not the standard mode of play. You dont show up with your "army" looking to play a match. You know everybody. Its not random games.
This 1000% depends on how "pickup games" are defined, and that's a fucking individualized minefield. In my own experience, the definition you seem to be going with of showing up at a shop where people are at as a strict definition is honestly lesser used for it than ones that include meeting up with friends either at a shop or at someone's house - which the anon you are responding to is likely including.

curious question that I thought some here might be able to help with. I have come across some nice RT and 2nd ed orks 3d printing files. I love these minis and would like to include them in my current ork army, but I hesitate because of the scale difference between the older boys and the newer Brian Nelson orks, as that is what primarily makes up my army. I got to thinking, perhaps the scale difference wouldn't be so bad if I scaled the 2nd ed minis up in the slicer before printing. My question then is how much of a scale up do you reckon they would need to appear about the same size as a Brian Nelson ork? cheers.

Everyone insists on starting their games at level 1 and there's not much you can fight and have a chance again there so it's just wolves and bandits and goblins again, and then it never goes higher than that because everyone gets bored and drops the game.

Because they power scale easily enough. You can go from mangy wolves to Wolf gods and celestial packs relatively easily.

They can also serve as mounts for other creatures like goblins or something bigger depending on their size.

You can also make them into potential allies and who doesn't want a wolf buddy (or the female druid fantazing about getting boned by one).

You know how warm it feels when you squeeze into it and let it bulge brown between your fingers? That feeling when you dig your fingers into your own fudge so it gets all trapped under your fingernails? It's a lot like that, but instead of your own asshole in your own bathroom, it is a homeless man's asshole by a dumpster outside of a Jersey Mike's.

Only because some people get anal over what is or isn't a murderhobo, since some extend that to every adventurer or player character that isn't explicitly working for a government.

I feel that's a problem with every setting based on the concept of "all/most religions/mythologies are actually true and co-existing". You have to accept that it just doesn't really make sense when you start thinking about it and get into details. Or you can come up with some ways to make it have sense which inevitably have pretty damn extreme implications for those religions

What are some of your experiences with BRP or mythras? Favorite stories, characters, or supplements?

I generally like running pulp or horror campaigns. Funniest story setup was how my players thwarted a small series of adventures I planned before it even started.
>Players role up an old priest, a journalist, and basically fred from scooby doo.
>Investigating a series of murders and disappearances.
>Get captured thesmelves and wind up in a rundown factory converted to sort of look likea victorian mansion.
>Meet an obvious vampire who uses them for basic company and conversation before planning to kill them.
>My players escape, the frail priest manages to full nelson the vampire, and the other players manage to use a stake to kill him.

It ended what I planned to be a multi session adventure in one night. It was a lot of lucky roles and ended up with being funny.

The more I play, the more I really want someone to do an egyptian or greek campaign guide. I am surprised that neither chaosium or the design mechanism has done it yet. Chaosium would probably fuck it up to be honest, but their vikings book and the last creatures book were actually decent so who knows.

Jackals is pretty good. I own it as well, but I kind of like the presentation of an alternate historical fantasy. I like seeing what kind of tweeks the writers do to historical events in terms of how the fantasy elements affect them.

I’m far more of a fan of the allotments system destined the supers supplement has

But the encumberance system is very workable
Especially if you have a VTT though it is clunky and it has worked for the post apoc game I’ve been running
Heavily armoured PC’s especially if they are small have been able to carry less and have packed a lot of important equipment onto their vehicles or mounts
There was also an alternative simplified encumberance system in the book but I don’t see that many pepole talk about it

>>97270919
Even when I used fixed initiative good armour in the hands of the PC’s can be a little strong at protecting them
Though there are plenty of other ways to fuck with them such as entangling weapons and tripping, on crits the bypass armour combat effect also exists
On a good damage roll 2h great weapons or large monsters can still be decently nasty to well armoured PC’s but that
