The reason this thread isn't going to get many replies is because Merzbow sucks and so does this retarded genre.

Is there any way to make a playlist that has multiple lists, and will play, say, three songs from "list A" and then one song from "list b?"

I have a playlist of folk songs, the majority in my own language, but some in others as well. I think the foreign songs sound nice mixed in with the native ones when they're in the proper ratio, but occasionally you get burps of 3-4 foreign songs in a row and then snap back to the native songs for hours.

I mostly play downloaded music from my phone, I'm sure there's a desktop app somewhere that can do what I'm describing though.

Pic unrelated.

Classical musicians didn't have to write lyrics or sing so stop holding them as some sort of gods in the music realm. They were glorified EDM producers at best.

A friend used to rile me up telling me that orchestras were no better than cover bands, but he was in the right.

FLINCH AND GET A FUCKIN GUN BUTT TO YOUR GUT

What instrumental, or mostly instrumental, album should I listen to while I read this book? Looking maybe for something that is slow, mysterious, and suggests the bright heat of Japanese summer. Or something else entirely, if you think it would fit.
>>
>>128942564
Steve Reich music for 18 musicians
or, variations for wings, strings, and keyboards (also by Steve Reich)
or Yellow Magic Orchestra if you want to not be a fag about it

But I'd recommend reading Kafka on the Shore. I read that one first and then got to wind up bird and found it something of a slog.
>>
>>128942564
I remember reading that book in high school and really liking it. I remember also reading that the US version excluded some chapters and reordered others. Almost makes me want to learn Japanese to read the original but I'm too retarded.
>>
>>128942671
Dipping my toes in Japanese study has made me feel retarded, but there is a lot of it which is a good deal more intuitive than some might lead you to believe. The difficult thing is deciding how you intend to go about learning and then committing to that path. It can feel like you're spinning your wheels if you, for example, decide to study kanji in specific, because it won't immediately result in you speaking Japanese. I just have faith that at some point it will all come together as one thing in my mind. I do think that learning Japanese is inherently pleasurable, but if you're in a rush to truly communicate, it's a long and arduous task. Like so many things, you must do it purely for the love of the game, and take the benefits as a bonus.
>>
>>128942611
Giving music for 18 musicians a shot right now.
>>
>>128942767
I wouldn't mind putting in the time and making an attempt but when I really think about it, I don't really see what I would use Japanese for, apart from the occasional trip to Japan. If I used it more often maybe I'd have more motivation. Otherwise, I feel the gap between starting to learn it and read/watch stuff in Japanese is huge.

the potency of the transgender, fat acceptance, etc. psy ops is that anything these people touch is poisoned. the palestinian cause used to be championed by normal and cool people. now it's associated with hysterical neurotics. marxism now means blue hair. there was even a time when homosexuality was associated with david bowie and william burroughs and james dean instead of today's gender freaks.

>now it's associated with hysterical neurotics
It is the direct opposite of how you portray it. Anti-zionism was a fringe belief associated with radicals in the past. Normal, ordinary people are disgusted with israel today. This is supported by public opinion polling showing a dramatic drop in support for israel among Americans in recent years

Maybe you include onedirection in this, but I remember Bieber was EVERYWHERE in 2010. Guys were jealous of him which in hindsight is weird because he was a kid and teen girls liked him.

Now we have taylor swift, sabrina carpenter, etc. But no real male pop star that all the teen girls go crazy for.
Even taylor swift has been around since pre-bieber so whats up with that? Did music just die in the 2010-2015 era? It's hard to believe 10 years passed because no other artist that came up after then has had maintained much relevancy

Fuentes is a Kamala Harris voter and Stalin/Mao admirer. He's not conservative or right wing, he's just a left wing racist
>>

Teenage boys and adult women literally look the same. Anyone who's attracted to women also thinks teenage boys are pretty but won't admit it.
>>
>>128937186
Nah. I'm only 4 years younger than Bieber and girls in my grade were uninterested. I genuinely knew one girl who thought he was attractive. We were too young for it. The reason a celebrity's fans are younger is because it's just straight up awkward to be shrieking and worshipping someone your own age. The girls who actually found Bieber attractive were generally his age (or 30yo milfs).
>>
>>128944164
He's right wing. He didn't vote for kamala. Just abstain from voting. He's only popular because he attacks the conservatives/MAGA losers. People are done with right wing politics. Nick is popular because he is funny when apolitical and he is correct about the failures of Trump/MAGA.

His actual political views outside of foreign affairs are very underdeveloped and unpopular
>>
>>128944341
I am same age as you. Girls were interested in him. Many were closeted beliebers. It's all come out in college

Is it such a big deal to use AI to write lyrics?
I like composing music, playing instruments and singing, but I fucking hate writing lyrics.

>"Yeah bro just write your feelings into a poem like if you were a 13-year old girl and sing it to the entire fucking world".

When my band's vocalist shares a new song he wrote about his breakup or about existential crisis a vein on my forehead bursts out from second hand embarrassment and my respect for him as a man decreases a little further.
Making original music shouldn't involve this type of humiliation.
How important are lyrics really, and is much missed by having a computer write them instead?

Sounds cucked and people will probably always suspect that youre a fraud because youll always lack the expertise and knowhow to understand what makes great lyrics actually great so even if you have a computer write them for you they'll still come across as shallow and pastiche
>>
making ai music makes you less than a human
your friend sounds based
>>
>>128940871
>how important are lyrics really
they're secondary to the music, they always will be, especially if the music is being performed by a band that is supposed to be proficient at their instruments. however, the vocalists are supposed to be like the PR rep for your band; they make shit relatable, because not everyone wants to sit and listen to 20 minutes of free form yngwie malmsteen shredding. lyrics speak to the soul and if you don't have soul then you can fuck right off.

in short, it depends on the purpose of the music, but most of the time, lyrics can't hurt. so yes, if you make dogslop lyrics by having a robot churn out some garbage and slather it all over your track, then I'm going to assume you're a lazy faggot, and that laziness will most likely be apparent in other aspects of the work anyway.

I will never listen to AIslop. never. NEVER. I don't care how good it is, if it's not made by human hands it will never register with me. if I listen to something that I think is good and then post hoc learn that it's some AIslop, my opinion will necessarily change with this added context. I will think lesser of it.
>>
>>128940871
Who said you should always writing lyrics about women or a breakup? By the way, not every song about relationships are bad or cringe. Have you ever listened to Don't Think Twice It's Alright? It's such a beautiful song.
