No memeing or hyperbole: have you ever actually played an actively racist character? What kind of mindset did you have with such a character and how did it influence your general interactions in the game?

I remember vividly about a time when some guy started a thread talking about how to characterize goblins as a culture.
First post in, some euroid was immediately ranting about gypsies unprompted. He wasn't even talking about using them as a model for goblins, he was just going off.

Eurotards need to admit that Hitler was right about all nonwhites and at best we should have the relationship that Germany had with Japan where both have respect for one another but don't force each other to adopt each others culture and don't bend over backwards to not offend one another and still look out for themselves 100%. You know, how rational diplomacy works.
>>97310172
>people are overreacting to societies trying to lessen racial tensions
Not really. Racists just recognize the following: races are different and that each race has the right to their own homeland and nations. For some reason people like to say whites shouldn't have that. Racism is in vogue basically because of pic related and the realization that:
1. Mixed kids feel a lack of identity that harms them and are genetically distant from both parents, in some cases so much so that they cannot accept any donors for health risks besides other mixed people.
2. No nation was formed so that outsiders can just come in and claim to be exactly the same as the people who have real stake there. America as formed by the founders, for example, was explicitly supposed to by whites for whites only white nonwhites being, at best, a laborer class.
Moralist pearl clutching emotional debates pretend these two conclusions are not valid at all when they always have been throughout history whenever they have occurred

Anyway most nations in my settings are racist to one thing or another because that is just how nations work, nations by definition being exclusionary. In Shadow of the Demon Lord most mortal races hate the fey because most of them aren't helping to push back the tide of the apocalypse and are more interested in doing their own thing, partially because they had oracles foretell long ago that the planet would be led to ruin one day.
And no one besides the insane is stupid enough to trust shit like demons either in most settings, including mine

To prove your point for Slaanesh, Blissbarbs are also built like hot ass on top of being spindly, pokey, and difficult to paint cleanly. I hate them and my buddy who just painted 2k of Drukhari hates them.

But fuck me does HoS have some of the best models in AoS.

I’ve only built/painted a squad of Blissbarbs, Myrmidesh, and a Lord of Hubris. I didn’t entirely hate it but I did make it miserable for myself by painting the two squads simultaneously.

"You've been hired by a local crime lord to kill an Imperial Moff who refuses to turn a blind eye to said crime lord's dealings"
Now the party gets to decide what sort of morality it wants. Full murder hobo killing evil Imperials, or helping the Imperials enforce their evil lawful ways by helping them get rid of a crime lord.
Or get jobs from a mysterious contact (who may or may not be a part of the Rebel Alliance) to strike and destroy Imperial infrastructure or steal money or ships from the Empire.
Or stealing rare and valuable ancient artifacts from rich asshole who supports the Empire. Or from the local crime lord.

Just spitballing here. You can take a lot of fantasy adventures and just replace things like "king" with "planetary governor" and still have cliche'd adventures rescuing a princess.
The sky's not even the limit since there's also all that space out there to explore. Like having the party fly into an asteroid field to investigate an ancient derelict spaceship for anything valuable and/ or fighting off space pirates who want the loot for themselves or are just harassing local civilian traffic.

>>97314004
Heh, I might have to check that out.
It does remind my of the many times we'd be in a public place and the party members would say "act subtle so you don't attract attention" and I'd have to remind them that "I am seven feet tall, four feet wide, and painted bright red. I do not do 'subtle'"

quasi related, it's always been weird to me how droids never get to be eccentric or overly weird, hell the droid with the most personality is R2, and its just him being sassy and brash at most, or K-2S0 or HK-47 being very sarcastic. why can't we get droids who love to wear gaudy chains and furs and use blasters way over their weight tolerance and other dumb shit.
>>
>>97313984
The traditional "you're in debt to a hutt and working under it as payment" is always fun since it lets the party start off as thugs doing low level shit, then they can eventually get drawn into a larger event that can have consequences down the line (like if they join the rebellion without paying off their debt, they have to choose between doing a blatantly evil job that pays enough money to cover their debt or pissing off their boss by fucking up the job while remaining in debt, or dealing with the increased scrutiny if they find a jedi relic and report it to the Imperials).
Also, how you frame a quest can really shape the enjoyment of it and how the players will react accordingly.
when in doubt, use high-school level plagarism skills and just blatantly copy another plot but make it fit into the star wars setting. There's a large enough variety of planets and cultures that a good chunk of popular fiction can be easily retooled to work in the setting.

Kek, one of my old Saga campaigns had us encounter a decked out snub-cruiser (a Republic cruiser but smaller, Colossal Space Transport size) upgunned with turbolasers, bigger shields, faster, a few other things (even a cloak) and that upgrade. It was the personal ship of some rich as fuck hereditary governor in the Corporate Sector, basically a Saudi prince except IN SPACE, so it had absolute extreme luxury.

He flew around in it with his personal harem. Shit happened, and we legitimately salvaged the ship. Turned out after a few adventures that he was the wastrel useless son and his younger brother thanked us for offing him (which was an accident) because it let the younger brother inherit. So he let us keep the ship. The harem too, but we dropped most of them off and only kept a few who wanted to actually work as crew.

It turned out to be a trap, because keeping a ship like that in proper luxury status costs stupid credits and we ended up in debt to the younger brother several times. Also a Hutt at one point. But we kept at it because the roleplay. Especially the wine rack.

Out on Patrol Edition

>What is this?
/TG/ DEVELOPED A GAME
IT IS PLAYABLE. IT HAS BEEN PLAYED.
EXPEDITION is a ~1880s era, Jules Verne-inspired retro-futurist, underground blood soaked adventurescape.
It is a Skirmish wargame. Two players with their own expeditions, on a hexgrid map, explore & fight each other for victory and profit.

3 versions of the rules exist, 2 of which have been playtested. The main one is 2e, to be found :

No argument here. The British did use an armored train during the Anglo-Egyptian war but that's already what directly inspires a lot of the traction engine (Also the Steam Sappers of one of the Ashante Expeditions) so giving them another armored vehicle would be redundant.

Alright, if I keep it in the USA book, should I make it something where the carts you get are random (with perhaps, some options keyed in, for example the military one could be Federal Leader only...), or where you purchase each one?
I'm thinking of putting a Valuable (x) rule on some Carts, like the Deepfolk's buildings, and you would score a percentage (or multiple) of that amount if you manage to get that Cart off the map on the 3rd, 4th, 5th turn for example.
>>
>>97314126
My vote would be for random if you want to use them for economy (maybe doing that thing where you get positive silver as long as they stay alive like with the Investor) but with the option to buy specific ones as normal units if you just want troop transport ability or other such

There’s not the same kind of competitor to WoTC that once existed no. The ttrpg space has changed a lot though. Politics have changed a lot. But what WoD offered was a game focused more on storytelling than action and number crunching. There are plenty of games like that. Some of which can involve vampires or whatever the fuck. Onyx path still exists and they’re essentially White Wolf but the popularity has waned as far as I can tell. There’s some weird stuff with Paradox involved in the copyrights.

Personally I tried to get a group together for Werewolf. I did what the people on here said to do with my 5e group. I said we either play Werewolf or nothing. They chose to have a BG3 night instead. Which I skipped because I’ve played more than enough of that game. The group is getting back together for an Eberron game DM’d by someone else. I got them to try Genesis at least. People just don’t seem to care about WoD anymore, not sure why.
>>
>>97311197
It's the same thing with the fucking "why isn't there an osr for 3rd edition" thread. You can get these books! They aren't hard to find. You can get a physical copy of v20 for relatively cheap if you're fine with black and white, and that book has fucking EVERYTHING in it. If people want to play WoD, they are drowning in options.
