>>97175737I do blame them though because the tariffs proved they could work with major retailers worldwide to help reduce the costs to consumers. Their newsletters have been painfully transparent about their decisionmaking. P500 in theory makes it even easier to be able to throw a bone to customers. Other midsize boardgame companies have figured out how not to completely fuck over international customers. This is the kind of shit I expect when I buy a most fearful sacrifice at kickstarter as a limited run and its a giant box and all that.for me its clear that "if they wanted to, they would" in regards to helping make non usa customers not have such shit to go through to support p500 which is purely to their benefit btw. Ironically a company ran by an abuser is okay abusing their customers lol
Well this is something different.

I got to play for the first time today! This really my be the best card game I've ever played. It was so much fun! I didn't even win once and still had fun.First I played a very basic Angel yellow deck. He used Digi-Police. After that I tried out a red Agumon deck against his purchased on the spot Sakuyamon Starter deck. He thought it would be weaker than his digi-police deck since it was a starter deck. It was not. It was much stronger. After that we had a rematch of Yellow angels vs. digi-police. We then looked over my yellow deck and made some changes to it. Some cards I ordered arrived a few days prior and I hadn't had a chance to make changes to my decks, so we did that then played it against digi-police one final time. I was actually in a really good spot and on the verge of playing Seraphimon. That would have ended my turn though, so I decided to attack in first before I'd digivolve. The security card was a DCB Bomb and it ruined me. I wasn't able to recover after that.Still had a blast and I can't wait until I get to play again.

>>97175641Amazing to read that! The game is soo much fun desu, I am glad you had fun too :DWhat deck(s) are you planing on building now? :)
>>97175724Just ones based around Digimon I like. That means an Angemon themed deck is first and foremost. Aside from that...I've found that amongst my cards I have a Sukamon line which has me intrigued. I'd like to try and build a deck around that shitmon. Doesn't even have to be good, just for the lols. Some sort of Agumon deck seems like its on the table.I like VenomMyotismon, but also find myself interested in making a MaloMyotismon deck and the various cards that support it. Something with Myotismon anyway.Gigadramon and Megadramon are 2 ultimates that I feel never get proper respect, so a deck for them, with probably some version of Machinedramon as their Mega.I have every common, uncommon, and rare from the recent Hacker's Slumber set, so I feel like I should try and make some sort of CS deck. Maybe half Makiko Date w/Lopmon & Antylamon and half Goro Matayoshi w/Birdramon, Garudamnon, & Phoenixmon. I have all of those already, just need to decide what else to fill in the gaps with I guess.Last, for now, but definitely not least. I saw that the Dark Masters have an archetype. I'm really not sure where to start with building that deck, besides the Dark Masters & Spiral Mountain, but I definitely want to give them a go. That seems like it'd be really cool to me. Could probably even include Apocalymon in such a deck. The high end seems obvious, it's the low end that I really don't know about.I'm sure there will be a lot more as I love building decks for games, but these are what immediately come to mind for me.

I'm convinced that the "Illusion" type is meant to coincide with a new Extra Deck summoning mechanic. Think about it. Psychics came with Synchros. Cyberse came with Links. (Wyrm was added because they wanted to make dragon cards without them having dragon support but let's ignore that.) Why is something as weirdly worded as a type called "Illusion" or "Illusion Demon" (the more literal translation) being added to the game? What kind of Extra Deck mechanic do you think would be relevant to "Illusions." I brain-stormed that Illusion monsters could be summoned by having a certain amount of face-down cards on your side of the field, and, when they're flipped face-up by any means, they're returned to the Extra Deck. This is partially because of my soft-spot for Spirit monsters but I also think it's vaguely thematic and fits what appears to be Illusion monster's main gimmick (stalling) Would it be too gimmicky for most decks and busted in others? Probably but I'd imagine the powerlevel of them would be pretty low since they'd be so generic. It'd also be the the Extra Deck mechanic that'd probably disproportionately help lower power/jank decks more than meta decks. What kind of Extra Deck mechanic do you think Illusions *could* get? What kind of Extra Deck mechanic do you want to see in the game in general? (Hard mode: No "Synchros but with a different mathematic operation")
>>97175796>I'm convinced that the "Illusion" type is meant to coincide with a new Extra Deck summoning mechanic. It's literally nostalgiabait. Illusion type monsters existed in the Manga but not the Anime, forming a trinity between Spellcasters/Illusion/Fiend. Relinquished and most of Pegasus' edgy monsters were Illusion monsters.
>>97175796Illusions have nothing to do with a new extra deck mechanic. They probably just wanted a new type that didn't have the baggage of something like beast or spellcaster. An unexplored space of the extra deck is obviously extra deck spells and traps but there's so much flexibility with the current extra deck types that they can effectively be spells and traps already so I don't see that happening. The current extra deck mechanics have so much potential and genericness that I don't really see any design space the current ones couldn't already fulfill. The only limitation I see is textbox space if you wanted an alternate summoning mechanic to appear more frequently but required a little too much text to explain it.
>>97175796If they were to do that, I'd say they should go for effectively a "clean-up" type that just covers anything not covered by any of the others or significantly breaks rules. Call them "Alter" monsters or something similar. The stuff like Masked HEROs that are fusion monsters but without fusion material, the contact fusion from GY of Phantom of Yubel and Lady's Dragonmaid, summons from Deck like Red Eyes Black Metal Dragon and some of the Charmer's familiars, "/Assault Mode", etc. It's sorta getting a bit late now, but if they did this around the time of Illusions/the end of VRAINS, then it probably could have worked out better.

>>97175014Realize I forgot to say how they actually play. They are combined arms where the infantry does the shooting and the warjacks do the melee. They are supposed to be flexible with the use of the airdrops (though some of the airdrop need reworks, the scenario where you want to drop a raider instead of a blocker is very, very niche). The warcasters are expected to get involved in the fighting. They are more on the solving problems side vs presenting problems side.

>>97169667This, it's 6v6 unit alternating grid game that has players roll dice at the start of the round and choose the values to use when they activate their unit that turn. It's heavily inspired by a game called dobbel dungeon as well as a few old d6 tabletop systems I played a long time ago.Gen 1 is done and will probably be adjusted a bit before I make it public, some units need V4 art but if anyone has any suggestions for units for gen 2 onwards I'd greatly appreciate it!

>>97173222More or less. A playtester referred to it as "chess but with abilities". I made a rough quick start rules to give an idea how things would operate before playing a round though.
>>97174720Nice a One-Page instruction.Interesting that you take a dice pool. I dont see how you generate dices. Or is the number of the dice on the card the number you get? Or is it for activating the unit?
>>97175697A warband would be made up of 6 units. Usually they each bring 1 die to the table each but some units that are more utility might bring 2. You'll add up all of the unit's dice together to determine your total pool. The usual dice pool total would be 6 since most units only bring 1 die but a unit that brings 2 would bump that total to 7.

>>97174032Not parasitic af as other anon said but most magic sets nowadays are designed as yugioh sets: make 2 -3 archetypes and fill the set with cards meant to play together with almost 0 replay value for older cards.Exemple:spooderman spider tribal thing>But magic has spiders!yeah, and the cards in the spiderman set will be played with other spiderman cards 90% of times.(let me not start on heroes and villains)other exemple, and what I think anon was referring, is firebending being forced and receiving most of its support from the same set (but to be honest some cards do have some synergy with nu-tarkir cards)other is the new lesson cards. They work in the deck made with avatar cards but other than that not that much. What I m saying is that there is less incentive for inter-set play and synergy than in other years. Most new mechanics are obviously things that don't "talk" well with other things in the same standard so most support and things that make the thing work come from the same set as them.Compare those mechanics to Ikoria for exemple: most cycling matter cards didn't call for cycling but for discarding cards, mutate was really versatile and people could splash for mutate creature in most decks despite the intention of the ability (aka make big creatures bigger and better)(for most of time players used them on mana dorks and utility creatures).
>>97175553you guys don't know what parasitic meansthe two mechanics in spider-man (mayhem and webslinging) are both extremely generic and broadly usable mechanics. I have no doubt they were just mechanics sitting on the shelf, waiting for a rush-job to come along.firebending is not "forced" it's literally just conditional mana dorks. Firebending could only possibly be parasitic if it made special avatar mana that could only be spent on avatar cards. There's is nothing even remotely parasitic about "whenever you attack, add red mana."Energy is a parasitic mechanic. Snow is a parasitic mechanic.
