i think it would be cool to be a hot sexy lahmian vampire lady with big boobies
>>97361406>TQNot much, just whatever looks cool. I used to make a shit ton of Maschinen Krieger kits but miniatures distracted me from it
>>97361406star wars legion, i have a solid force for all the armies available but my pride and joy is my separatist army. really fun game. i like the gameplay a lot and it's my sci-fi wargame of choice as i hate 40k.
>>97361406>What other wargames do you build, paint and play? There's no building or painting involved with them, but I play GMT hex map wargames.>What do you enjoy about them that you don't get from Warhammer Fantasy? You get the operational level of warfare which is different from Warhammer. I also get to play them with a different group of people, mainly the history nerds in my family, while Warhammer is something I do with friends.A bit of a tangent but I'd LIKE to play other miniature wargames, I just don't have the time. Painting up my warhams takes all the time as it is. I have a little conspiracy theory that James has been upping the details on their miniatures with pointless bits and pieces that anyway get drowned in the noise of the model and you won't actually notice them when you have an army on the table. I believe this is done deliberately to rob people of their free time so they are more locked in on Warhammer and don't get the opportunity/time to try something else. I'd be curious if anyone else had that same thought.

>Dark elves exist to be evil elves>There's occasionally orcs that are noble savages rather than pillagers>Even dwarves have some evil equivalents like chaos dwarfs in warhammer and whatnotWhat would a "Dark" equivalent to gnomes be like? How do you corrupt a little jolly bearded man from the woods into something evil?
>>97353846https://youtu.be/bywBEuitbtQ?si=UBpWH3CG6u8SF_i3
>>97360398>>97360401quick rundown?
Funny emoug, in his early drafts, Tolkiactually used the word "Gnome" to describe Elves, not Dwarves. The "Wise" Gnomes: Tolkien liked the word because it sounds like the Greek gnome (intelligence/wisdom). In his early Book of Lost Tales, the Noldor (the most intellectual and craft-oriented Elves) were called "Gnomes." He eventually stopped using the word because popular folklore (influenced by 16th-century alchemy and Victorian garden gnomes) had turned "Gnomes" into small, earth-dwelling, often comical spirits. In general folklore, the lines between dwarves, gnomes, and kobolds were very blurry. Both were earth-spirits who lived underground. However, Tolkien specifically moved his Dwarves away from the "gnome" archetype.Almost every dwarf name in The Hobbit (Thorin, Fili, Kili, etc.) and even the name "Gandalf" was taken directly from a list called the Dvergatal (Catalogue of Dwarves) in the Old Norse poem Vöouspa. The idea of dwarves as master smiths living underground, associated with stone and mining, comes straight from the Norse dvergar. The "Greed", The "dragon-sickness" or obsession with gold mirrors the Norse dwarf Andvari, who guarded a cursed hoard. What he invented (The "Modern" Dwarf):Tolkien gave them a secret language (Khuzdul) and a deep internal history. He famously compared the Dwarves' history dispossessed of their homeland and wandering among other nations to that of the Jewish people, which added a layer of solemnity and tragedy not found in most folklore. Before Tolkien, dwarves were often portrayed as ugly, maggot-like, or purely mischievous. Tolkien made them brawny, honorable, and formidable warriors. He intentionally used "Dwarves" (plural) and "Dwarvish" instead of the then-standard "Dwarfs" to distinguish his "elder race" from the "dwarfs" of nursery tales and Snow White.
>>97353846>What would a "Dark" equivalent to gnomes be like?A normal gnome?
>>97353846I mean, D&D already has Deep Gnomes, svirfneblin. They're paranoid, greedy and solitary master-trappers.Maybe explain why you're looking for something else?

>>97360698>Dude, Nu-Lorwyn limited looks straight up fucking terrible. That was my experience with test drafts. Goblins felt playable too.The amount of recursion is just vomit-inducing. Half the games you literally can't get even a single fucking thing off the board, no matter how hard you try. And the games where recursion isn't a problem just devolved into stagnant boards, where all the high-toughness creatures made to absorb Blight costs can't do anything, and you can't Blight anything to break through because that would lower the toughness of your creatures and let them kill you. It's fucking AWFUL. Like straight up abysmal shit and might be one of the worst limited formats ever.

I have no fucking idea what is going on, this is a S4U, I have checked it is leveled to the tabe, default settings (lychee) for my resin, all screws are tight, nothing is moving during print time.Is my printer just fucking cursed and trying to print a demon?
>>97360898First, did you only print that one model? If yes, your leveling and everything with burn in layers is fine. If some stuff did not get printed, try the manual level app in the printer. This looks like it could be the anti alias bug.The motherboard has a problem with too many grey pixels in the same line, and moving from 9k to 16k enlarged the danger of that.https://www.youtube.com/shorts/bNkAoa0_l2c
Ok bois, I need advice.Good friend of mine's birthday is coming up.He recently got a decent resin 3d printer and he's going nuts over it, printing 24/7, his girlfriend is starting to complain about the sudden appearance of resin minia of dubious taste in the house, etc.I was thinking of maybe gifting him something "hobby related" but I am a total ignorant noob on 3d printing (all my minia comes from China recasters) so here it comes:What the fuck can I give him as gift that it is 3d printing related? Is UV curing station a trap?Is there something fancy an aficionados would love?
>>97361759An curing station is nice, but most often not that necessary. If you go that route, watch out for what size of printer your mate has, because the best thing is if you can just take the printed plate and put it directly into the cleaner, but some plates are larger than others.I would maybe go with more resin. Maybe some interesting colors or those fancy engineering materials. There is one that cures almost like ceramics. Or some are like wax so you can cast it in metal afterwards. Maybe using those to make something for his girlfriend will mend the problems.
>>97361759get him a new girlfriend because the current one is obviously defective

>>97360336How tf a movie can cost 1 billion?
>>97361788>2026>Anon just discovered Hollywood's accountingAre you Amish or something?
>>97361791Explain Money laundering?
>>97361788A movie, to be profitable, needs to earn about 2.5 of its production budgetOutside of filming and editing, you need to also distribute it. If it's outside of the US, you need to pay foreign taxes. You also split income from tickets between the cinema, the distributor and the studio. There is also marketing involved, which in case of Avatar is basically a 2nd production budget. So in the end, a movie that cost half 400 mil (already absurd sum) needs to earn a billion to even start being profitable.Which is also why for past few years the blockbusters were all flops or near-flops, because when your movie costs 250 mil to make and you are making back 200 in box office, this means you are effectively half a billion in red, even if on paper it's "only" 50 mil missing.
>>97361800>Muh money laundering>Retard goes full retardJust consult >>97361809On top of what that anon already covered, there is also a matter of how each party involved is getting paid. If they are paid % of the profits, no matter how worded, it is utmost priority of the studio to pretend the movie either earned less or was a complete bomb, allowing them to weasel out of paying someone few dozen millions. The most famous case is Stallone being paid squat for Demolition Man, because the studio pretended it was a flop (despite 160 in box office and another 80 in rentals). When he decided to finally take them to court and thus expose their crooked books, the studio instead paid him 20 mil (which is about thrice what he would earn from that contract) just to keep it company secret how much the books are cooked.
Seeing space marines without big shoulder pads and stompy boots makes me irrationally angry
>>97360601The most anoying part is not just the armour design, is the absolutely lack of care for the SM concept, and the prostitution of the brand adding more and more slightly different marine types with overlapping roles. Regular marines are the universal soldiers, they should be able to do almost everything in a decent way. Now there are 3+ types of phobos plus original scouts. God knows how many different types of range marines all with the same gun like eldars, as many heavy and jetpack marines plus terminators. The bloat is endless.
>>97360810I think the Primaspect Warrior approach is too deeply embedded to go away by this point but at least GW seems to be slowly reintroducing/refreshing the pre-Primaris elements of the army, I wouldn't be surprised if we see new Tactical and Devastator squads in the near-ish future. If those get updated the range will have everything you need to make an old-style Marine army with entirely new/current units.I'm really not looking forwards to the Rhino chassis vehicles being inevitably squatted though, they look miles better than their Primaris replacements.
>>97360601>gee, your mom let you have FOUR antennas?
>>97361215I thought they were in the process of squatting pre-primaris marines desu.

>>97361478Because that's when your elven parents start trusting you to do shit outside the village. <100 elves are still "treated" like kids so they have no real responsibilities besides learning and playing. No game I know limits you to playing >100 year old elves, just be prepared to be treated differently by older elves and you can't do the wise elf with disdain for younger races schtick anymore.
>>97361659> just be prepared to be treated differently by older elvesHow would an older elf even know wheter or not some stranger elf is 30 years old or 110 year old. Visually, there shouldnt be any difference. And its a stranger, from a different town, different kingdom, different place.
>>97361688Brother I'm not a scholar on the ageing physical characterstics of fictional non-existent species. Nowhere is it mentioned that there are no observable physical changes after the stated "physical maturity". Maybe the changes are more subtle and takes an elven eye trained over centuries to see, or maybe they're invisible. All depends on how your GM takes it. Now stop asking stupid shit.

>>97360673While osmosisposting is a problem, getting a name wrong might well just be a case of remembering it wrong. At some point in these threads I remember getting unreasonably annoyed by someone repeatedly calling Salina something like Serina, but that anon appeared to still kmow the substance of the lore while getting the name wrong. Bigger problem than mistakes with names are people coming in with assumptions and expectations not based on anything in the books and then acting like the game's in the wrong for not matching those assumptions and expectations.
