Why the fuck would you play OSR? Every edition is an improvement on the previous--that's why they make new editions, to refine and better their content. Is it just nostalgia? Are they mentally impaired or senile? What the fuck is wrong with OSR "fans"?

Comically incorrect
>>
>>97339266
A very good question. Why haven't you played in any games? You seem to be operating under multiple erroneous assumptions about the way games are played and run that would be corrected if you actually played anything.
>>
>>97332967
It took you 3 hours to make a character in 5e?

What learning disability do you have? Or are you diagnosed? If not, you might want to go to a psychologist or neurologist, my dude.
>>
>>97339944
Then feel free to enlighten me on why you use session 0 then and when you started using it.
>>97340275
I don't take three hours. But try as I might newbies don't cotton on as quick when I start them in 5th. Any number of other games I've used though get started in (at most) 30 minutes.
>>
>>97340832
Ah, you're one of those gameless autists who sees the word "session" and assume it takes an entire night to set expectations, discuss character ideas, and start playing. Pathetic, really.

Absolutely not, I see this said here fairly often though? Even last thread we got a guy with uneven coats of paint/primer and anons pointed that out. Shitposting would be saying it looks dogshit without providing any advice on how to actually improve it. I'll try to keep what you're saying in mind next time I get a chance to give feedback though because you brought up valid points.

NTA, but the Monkey's Paw curls:

I have a feeling your definition of "internal cammie politics" is going to be so broad that effectively everything that isn't cross-splat falls under it, but
1: You, or someone else in the coterie broke the Masquerade and now there's a mortal that knows what you are. How will you deal with that?
2: An independent ghoul has set his/her sights on you/someone in your coterie.
3: One night while feeding, you find a mortal that is immune to the kiss. What do?
4: Another vampire you know has become obsessed with the idea of becoming human again, and they keep trying to rope the coterie into their latest experiment in regaining their lost humanity.
5: You come across a young vampire, hiding out on the outskirts of town, that possesses a discipline that neither you, nor anyone you know, has ever seen before.
6: You're at one of your nightly haunts. Maybe you're looking for some blood, maybe you're just trying to enjoy a night on the town. But you see someone you knew in life. Someone you were very close with. What do you do?
7: Hunting down long-lost vampire lore
8: Basically any mundane crime you can think of is on the table for a vampire game
9: An ancient, traveling elder stops in your coterie's domain. They have seen much of human history with their own eyes. Are you able to coax that information out of them? Or must you suffer an immensely powerful and immensely entitled house guest?
10: Your ghoul has become pensive and withdrawn. Has the blood bond somehow begun to wane? Or have they simply become more jaded to their situation?

There 10 plot hooks/"things that you can do" that have nothing to do with internal politics, and I didn't even bother to mention the cheap shots of
11: Killing Setite goons

I think the twist will be that the snarl doesn't technically kill. Instead, it just stores its victims and worlds inside of its infinite tangle, preserving them for eternity. So my theory is that the story will end with the snarl being unraveled, and all the worlds it took being restored. (Effectively) unlimited worlds, enough space for everybody. IMO this will tie into the MitD too but that's a separate thing

Welcome to /wbg/, the official thread for the discussion of in-progress settings for traditional games.

Here is where you go to present and develop the details of your worlds such as lore, factions, magic and ecosystems. You can also post maps for your settings, as well as any relevant art (either created by you or used as inspiration for your work). Please remember that dialogue is what keeps the thread alive, so don't be afraid of giving someone feedback or post whatever relevant input you might have!

AD&D 2e's World Builder's Guidebook is very useful for fantasy settings. Diku (https://topps.diku.dk/torbenm/maps.msp) is good for planetary maps.

For future history/science fiction stuff, I've found far fewer sources. GURPS Space 4e has a detailed alien generator, which I turned into a Python program here: https://www.online-python.com/FcrCEyQbiw . Throne of Salt has some good tables for planet generation, particularly this one: https://throneofsalt.blogspot.com/2019/10/mothership-planet-generation.html . Sectors Without Number does the same using SWN's tables: https://sectorswithoutnumber.com/ . Traveller has lots of tables too, and this looks to be a web version of them: https://srd-tools.com/sector.html

People are fairly consistent in their closed-mindedness on adapting mechanics from video games to tabletop, but I think there's some validity in trying; at least, for the sake of some of the more simple ones.
I'm not saying go as far as calculations to the degree of Pokémon's damage formula, but systems like Fire Emblem or even Morrowind could be adapted to tabletop wholesale; both being essentially D% systems.

I have no experience with Red Faction specifically, but I recommend looking into statistics (especially probability theory) to see if anything can be carried over.
>>
If your campaign involved blowing up buildings frequently enough that you can't just GM handwave it, then determining "Hitpoints" for buildings based on material, construction quality and such is perfectly doable.
But it adds another level of autism to the crunch, and lots of games are complex enough already.
Battletech had building destruction rules in Total Warfare, but they are fairly simple and abstracted so as to not bloat the already fairly crunchy mech fight centric ruleset.

He's a chaos renegade (specifically renegade 1, or 070327/8, without a backpack because I didn't have any on hand) riding a chimera (specifically the CM1 chimera with a snake tail, and dragon, lion, and ram heads). The model's silhouette is all kinds of fucked up because it was a spur of the moment conversion (for lack of a better word), I had to use greenstuff to make a saddle so the chaos renegade would fit and I still had to bend his legs a lot. I also used greenstuff to fill some gaps around where each part attaches, which I sculpted to look like scar tissue and painted fleshy pink. He's not really a mutant or anything like that, the posing is just awkward by necessity.

>>
>>97343731
Well, technically it exists. It's the most you can say about it.
But they don't seem to be in any haste to launch any models except for whatever few they already did, squatted some factions and changed the stylistics. So its just kinda there.

Let's say, hypothetically, someone, not me, were to have, allegedly, altered the atomic structure of Warp Stone. Now let's say, HYPOTHETICALLY, it caused a cascade effect that resulted in all Warp Stone in existence being altered the same way.

Now, this Warp Stone might, MIGHT, have a 99.9% chance of altering the behavior of Skaven exposed to it to experience a complete reversal of their usual traits, mannerisms, behaviors, personalities, and such. Now it might, POSSIBLY, make them 100% aware that they are altered and unable to stop their new behaviors no matter how hard their inner thoughts are screaming at them to stop.

In the event this completely hypothetical situation occurs, what kind of repercussions might one expect from being the cause of such an event?

For your average boots on the ground skaven slave, no. He knows there is no agriculture, cannibalism is now forbidden, raiding is now forbidden, he owns nothing he can use to trade with, and that there are better rats than himself that deserve priority in what stockpiles of non-rat jerky the skaven keep. Best he can do is find a cliff overlooking a pit of feces that may be used as fertilizer in the future, and jump. Its not because they are being rash but because rational thinking would quickly conclude the situation to be bleak and that self sacrifice is the best he can do to assure the collectives survival.
>>
>>97343696
This. The inverse of normal Skaven behaviour would be self-sacrifice for collective gain. Honestly, the Skaven might be more likely to take over the world now that they're into peace and love and carefully raising their offspring to ensure optimal development.
