Dude Saxtonites don't give a shit about the films and will use any excuse to justify their retarded claims
>Uhhh we only see one Executor and it was clearly intended to be special to Vader and the EU made it so only a few other existed? Yeah but like... Han says in RotJ that there are other commander ships and he doesn't seem surprised by the Executor so CLEARLY this means the Executor is actually super fucking common and the rest is EU headcanon!
>The Home One is stated in various reference books to be a singular ship in the Rebel navy? But like we see other ships in the background that VAGUELY look like it so the Rebellion actually has hundreds of Home Ones and the books are just EU headcanon!
>The Death Star II is stated everywhere to be 200km long and it doesn't look big? Yeah but like... in this shot where we see the Endor moon in the background, if we do autistic pixel measurement it's way bigger and one of the ILM dudes said it was like 500x bigger than the first in an interview once! So CLEARLY the 200km stuff is EU headcanon!
Irony being most also hate the PT and love Disney. From what I've seen in Fractal's server all his Saxtonite pals eat up Disney+ trash like breakfast.
>>
>>97348311
Isn't the canon diameter of DS2 about 5 times that of DS1? It's a bit inconsistent since some sources state it's the same size as the original or twice as big, but IIRC the numbers that show up in most later sourcebooks have it be more than twice the diameter of the original.

What do you think of it? It's basically Fallout with furries (Kipo didn't have robots or guns).

"Do as I say, not as I do" was pretty common amongst the oldhead game designers. Partly because they didn't know what they were doing either, but sitting at the head of a company moving thousands of copies of the games they wrote often gave guys like them an ego about how well they understood a still developing and growing hobby. Gygax, after burning every bridge in his life and losing everything, later recanted a bunch of his more hyperbolic statements and advice, while Uncle Kev persists in being a retard who is too retarded to know what a retard he is.

But to your point - quite frankly - No, Christianity does not do a lot of purging blasphemers. As evident by the fucking mess of cults and denominations we have running around. Those times are mostly in the past.

For the counterfactuals. Where the history and mythology does not exist. And the rules must have clear descriptions separating game functions.

How, exactly, do you write rules for a Wizard doing the rather common COUNTERSPELLS under this prescribed meaning of "magic" that flagrantly ignores words being capable of having outright contradictory meanings? Because that game function strictly requires spells be a distinct thing that can be countered, in turn strictly requiring that they be put in a box away from all the non-spell game functions.

We're going to have to come up with a phrase for the new era of Warhammer 40,000 ushered in by the Amazon TV show, DoW 4 and Total War 40k, and increased market value of Games Workshop.

nu40k isn't going to cover it. nu40k is already bad enough for many of us from headier days like 1st through 4th edition. You are going to see horrific debasements to the thing you know and love that you will still see with your eyes closed. Every 80 IQ person with internet access will have an opinion on Warhammer without knowing what a Tau Remora Drone is.

Season 1 will be Cavill as Titus or whatever, who will do something really cool in the first few episodes then have something happen that incapacitates/takes him away from the plot, then season 2 is going to be Game of Thrones in space with an ensemble of multiracial characters that all are supposed to come from the same planet with thousands of years of sleeping with eachother (No dont think about the segregation/racism implications that would cause this) will faff about for half a season with Cavill coming back at the end of the second season only to nominate a woman as his stand in. Season 3 will be girl boss time. There will be no season 4 due to lack of interest

This is mistaken because it relies on the creators of the adaption being better than the original guys, which is becoming highly unlikely.
There's a few "yeah it's pretty good too" but the chances of anyone in the industry being better than the guys who made the original things I like is vanishing fast. And also them having the freedom to make things in a functional way and not constantly hobbled and cut down by the powers that be. Not happening, there's too much money involved for these things to be good.

After the lack of any sustained interest generated by Space Marine 2 (a game which apparently pulled 2 million players at launch), I'm not convinced that's true anymore. It was hit-or-miss between 2015-2020, but since around 2020 that atomising impact of the Internet on the media landscape has accelerated to such a degree that these responses just aren't sustained

Trying to find a good building synergy every run gives it some good staying power. It also has some personality to it with the theming which makes it stand out from other abstracter games. Some more buildings wouldn't hurt but alledgedly an expansion for it is in the works. If your friend would enjoy light engine building with pulpy robot murder I'd say go for it.

>gameplay
For Centaurs, you should be able to use them as mounts when not in combat if they're lightly armed & armored. I think you could ride into battle with them and fight on their back without overburdening them, depending on your loadout. Squeezing into dungeons and caves might be a bit of a bitch, and your centaur companion may find themselves too cumbersome to accompany you in certain locations. If people in wheelchairs can make do, I'm sure a transmog potion or a shrinking potion might solve the problem.
>fantasy settings
They're more at home here for sure, like having a horse. Some taverns may give you a hard "no" for your centaur companion, but I'm sure regions that are steeped in centaur culture or adjacent ones have accommodations for their unique anatomy. If nothing else, they could help carry your camp supplies and other provisions.
>loadouts for fantasy
If you're not riding them, I think they can be pretty well armed and armored- think tower shield and a mace/flail. They also make good spearmen, so I think they'd be comfortable wielding a halbard and similar pike-style weapons. This would be with them wearing plate mail cuirass for the human portion and chainmail curtain over their horse hind quarters, or perhaps some specially fitted Gambeson. Other plate sections could be fitted to their horse body as needed. Archery and crossbows seem like they'd work for ranged options. I've not considered them using magic, but having a fairly mobile spellcaster seems cool as well.

If a humcan PC is riding a centaur PC and they dismount, do you charge the human half of their movement speed for the dismount? I was thinking about offering up some feat that allowed the rider to retain their movement after dismounting for some interesting movement mechanics. 40 feet + an additional 30 from the human rider.

Some folks were saying the idea of having a human and a centaur fighting while the human was on their back might be a little broken (two-player instances occupying the same space, I can see being a problem). Maybe make it so only the human or the centaur can attack per turn if the human is riding them? This would mean the player has to dismount the centaur to get their own battle action per turn.

Welcome to /wbg/, the official thread for the discussion of in-progress settings for traditional games.

Here is where you go to present and develop the details of your worlds such as lore, factions, magic and ecosystems. You can also post maps for your settings, as well as any relevant art (either created by you or used as inspiration for your work). The suggestion is that you can't work with the failure of your player as a GM. But I think there are plenty of ways to deal with it. I'll keep to dnd vocabulary:
Study and practice costs money for reagents and inks and shit. You also need downtime because you use spell slots on the appropriate level when practicing. Some spells require rare reagents / materials to learn that will take some adventuring to obtain.
You need to find information on the spell, or have instruction from one who mastered it to attempt it. Experimentation without information or instruction will be more costly in time and reagents, and have a higher chance of failure. You can't attempt to learn a spell without information or instruction unless you have seen it being cast, or you can realistically argue that two or more spells you already know should give you enough insight to start the process.

In general, given the risks involved, populated areas don't take kindly to magical teachings and experimentation within their communities. Depending on local laws and customs you might face fines, exile, mob justice, the stink eye, theft/espionage from competitors, general displeasure, whatever. This is part of why wizard towers are a thing.

Failure to learn the spell can result in backfired spells. You might:
>take some damage
>turn yourself into a newt for 1d4 days
>block your chakras causing you to lose access to 2 spell slots of the level of the spell
> literally blow your hand off
>cause you to become "wild magicked" for 1d4 weeks
>a thundercloud follows you constantly inside and outside causing you to be soaked and take 1d4 lightning damage every 2 hours until dispelled
>you create a rift and 1d6 void imps enter and attack you

You're just a shit ass GM, if you call for a roll you should at least have 2 possible outcomes that you're interrogating the dice for, if you can only think of one there's no need to ask the dice for anything, just narrate the whole thing as an introduction to the actual scenario.
>inb4 muh illusionism and misdirection to trick the players
That shit may work if you're quick witted enough and your players drooling retards, from op story it was well apparent the GM was caught off-guard.

>What is Trench Crusade?
An alternate weird history 28mm/32mm tabletop skirmish game still in a pre-release playtesting phase but with the full release slated for this year. Based on the art and lore of Mike Franchina, whose illustrations you may have seen floating around on /tg/ for a several years now, and designed by Tuomas Pirinen, one of the original creators of Mordheim. It's grimdark, it's visceral, it's awesome, and it's very Blanchitsu.

>What Trench Crusade is not
TC not an excuse for you to discuss IRL religion, history that didn't occur in the game, culture war shit, or discord bullshit on /tg/. Keep it on topic.

>What's the QRD on the background?
The Knights Templar turned heretic and opened the Gates of Hell when they took Jerusalem during the First Crusade. Over 800 years later the war is still ongoing as technology has developed to a pseudo diesel-punk WW1 standard and a third of Humanity has sided with the Infernal Princes.

>How do I get started?
All the files are free online:

They used to be split between the website and the discord, but no more. For posterity's sake, the old mega will still be kept active even if it's unlikely to need updating: https://mega.nz/folder/70QH0BBa#Eg-blxYQKkY_C02wErnFTQ
