Modelwise yes, because I like the look of it. But in terms of rules I wouldn't take banners for chaff or horsemen. The extra CR isn't going to help them in any meaningful way (unless I'm specifically going for some kind of magic banner) and when they inevitably do get killed they won't give out free points like candy. The musician is good on everyone imo.

WFRP seems to have some of Prince of Aldorf as canon since Marius Leitdorf was the elctor count during that period and was a supporter of Karl Franz during the election for Emperor which lines up with Prince of Altdorf

As I suspected, lorefagging is demonic.

Anyways, don't be too worked up about the lore, even for the Empire. It's all contradictory anyways. Just pick a cool elector miniature and paint him in the colours you like.

>t. anon who's painting a """non-canon""" colour scheme

Can someone who's played both 6e extensively and also TOW sell me on TOW? I'm a 6e player and I have a community that plays 6e so "finding games" is a non-argument. I'm reluctant to try TOW because it's part of the nu-GW ecosystem, I hate the rules bloat, the so-called "Legacy factions", Cathay, boring magic system, monstermash and some other things. But, I am willing to be convinced to give it a try if good arguments are made. At times I feel like it would be nice to switch things up and take a small break from 6e

>How hard did that ermine pattern on the left one end up being?

It's a pain. Very tedious and if you screw it up it takes a few coats to fix since it's black on yellow, and I imagine white wont be any better if your doing normal ermine.

>>97354166
thin ice? Don;t they have all the rules published? How is that allowed? I figured they were based in Russia or something so GW couldn't do anything.

So I'm essentially infant new to Vangaurd, like 5 days old new, bought Dear Days 2 because I may or may not be retarded and I don't think I'll ever even attempt to get anything dlc related because of how borderline grossly expensive it is, is there a specific archive or site that has deck recipes for vanilla Dear Days 2? Since most I've seen are rightfully using upgrades decks with the dlc.

use vg paradox
https://vg-paradox.com/subpage/TopDecks

in the top deck you can filter by sets
ex you go to Rezael and the you put the filter to dz03 and pick one of the recent ones
if a deck dont have tops like Liael Amorta just search in google and add the set many people submit decks to decklog

you could also use the official decks

>What is /awg/?
A thread to talk about minis and games which fall between the cracks, or peoples' homebrew wargames.
The >>>/tg/hwg thread doesn't entertain fantasy (for good reason) and the other threads are locked to more specific games.
This thread isn't tied to a game, a publisher, or a genre, let's just talk about fun wargames. Any scale, any company, any miniatures.

>Examples of games that qualify.
A Song of Ice and Fire, Argatoria, Batman Miniature Game, Carnevale, Conquest: The Last Argument of Kings,
Deadzone, Dragon Rampant, Dropfleet and Dropzone Commander, Freebooter's Fate, Frostgrave, Gaslands, HeroClix,
Kings of War, Maelstrom's Edge, Malifaux, Marvel Crisis Protocol, Masters of the Universe: Battleground, Moonstone,
Oathmark, OnePageRules, Open Combat, RelicBlade, Rumbleslam, SAGA, StarCraft, Stargrave, Sludge, Urban War, Void,
Warcaster, Warmachine, Xenos Rampant, Xenotactics...

It's cheaper to buy a resin printer and accessories than it is to build a 1k point 40k army. One Page Rules it is. I already have a 3d printer so I think I'm going to print some terrain to see if I like the idea of printing/painting minis before I go crazy buying things.
Any recommendations for free terrain models that are fdm friendly? I saw a guy who made 12" square panels with a 6x6 grid on each panel for easy 2" reference/measuring. I didn't mind the look of it but I can see how some people would hate it. What do you think?
>>
>>97350952
It's a decent game, remember to use optional rules like extra actions for a better experience.
>>
>>97349839
There is some asymmetric balance to this but those that look "underdeveloped" are just as strong as others.

Basic rules are that there is an initiative roll based off of a D6 + the highest command score of an unit you field. Whomever is high roll goes first.
You roll 12 d6 (and can reroll up to 8) for what are essentially action points.
It has a simple dice system using d6, d8, d10, and d12.
Roll to hit is based on enemy defense and you roll the respective dice and number of dice per attack.
Each successful point of damage is counter-rolled based on enemy defense values. There are certain levels of offense which can physically overpower defenses (such as rolling a high 10 on a d10 and the defense is only d8).
Damage is done by either casualties for infantry or damage values on vehicles.

You're probably thinking of "Corsairs" and Reclaimers which are the games version of "quality over quantity"
>>
>>97352028

I don't like the studio color schemes for conquest miniatures. They're not as bad as mantic's, but I think they do not do the miniatures justice. Nice bugmen.

Everything got fucked up in 2007
We changed from 4:3 as the standard screen ratio
The little shit demon device called the iPhone was released
Obama started his presidential campaign
The housing market started to crash
The EPA made it mandatory for cars to look like fat little pigs on tonka truck wheels and for seats to be hard "ergonomic" buckets

Just to name a few. 2007 was the biggest mistake in history.
>>
>>97354654
It's the same with WHF. Up until 4th (5th?) army books were these absolute tomes chock full of lore and art. But it was around this time that Jewish tendencies started to seep into GW and thus army books/codexes were forcibly made less detailed, which is something that saddened Priestley. I agree with the other anon though, 2E 40k and 4/5E WHF were fun but the 3E/6E era was the absolute peak in terms of aesthetic, gameplay, mini quality and general vibes. It's all been downhill since.
>>
>>97354296
I'm not gonna be assed to look up the exact page and wording, but effectively the way it works is that blast markers always hit the target under the hole in the blast marker and you make a wound roll against *that* model, so if an independent character has joined a unit, you shoot the big gun at the unit, and place the blast marker directly over the character. As long as it doesn't scatter (which it won't at minimum a third of the time and usually less than that because of BS) it hits the character, and can cause instant death. It has nothing to do with the actual rules for targeting units or characters.
It's gamey and non-intuitive, but that's older editions for ya.

It's crazy to me to think that in a hobby where the only barrier to using old content is... nothing... so many people justbhave accepted the idea that they have to use the latest edition. These are books bro, absolutely nothing forces you to use the new ones as long as you can access old pdfs. It's like with DnD, I just never moved on from 3.5e. I occasionally play older editions but why would I ever use the newer ones? I just don't need it. It's not the same style of game so I just don't play it and I never will. That wotc releases content for it means nothing to me. Might as well be a brand of barbie dolls or expensive watches for all I pay attention to it.

The Video Dead did, when they were locked up together.
>>
>>97346628
Yeah, but they were pretty atypical for zombies. You could trick them into thinking they were dead dead for a while, too.
>>
I like Red Markets zombies since they cover all the bases. The infection itself is enigmatic, but it acts like a virus, parasite, and in some ways a fungus and manifests as thick, ropey sinew. Infected who are still alive are called Vectors and act like 28 days later style rage zombies that sprint, jump, and still have enough wits about them to operate door handles. When they inevitably die from heart failure or dehydration or (non-brain) injury, they collapse dead and then a few hours to days later rise up again as Casualties, which are more typical slow zombies that are only really dangerous in hordes (but tend to congregate into hordes when they have nothing to slowly chase).
Some people don't actually lose control of themselves when infected and are called Latents, but they still look infected and are still infectious. When they die, their corpse immediately acts like a Vector until rigor mortis slows it down to Casualty, so Latents are usually treated as second class citizens and often quarantined into their own areas or at least closely monitored. Vectors can be turned into Latents if injected with the "cure" before their bodies give out. Some people are truly immune, but the "cure" is derived from their bone marrow, so being known as immune is a good way to get disappeared into a chop shop.
There are also Aberrants that are one-off freak zombies like a rat king where all the sinew spread out and connected a bunch of zombies into a surprisingly fast moving ball of limbs and heads, or a scarecrow-like zombie that's crucified on its own sinew which now spreads out across the ground like aggressive vines ready to grab and impale anything in the area.

I'm not going to tell you whether or not you should or shouldn't. I'm just gonna tell you what you *should* do if you *do* decide to try getting into it.

>Find someone to teach you how to play the game
And I don't mean the basic summoning mechanics because that's just shit you can learn in under an hour. I mean someone that is willing to teach you how to read PSCT (the formatting of the card text, and yes there ARE keywords in this game), how Priority(IMPORTANT) and Timing(Learn Priority first) works, and how some of the more nitty-gritty stuff like the Damage Step works.

>Watch real games playing out
THIS IS A BIG ONE THAT NEW PLAYERS DON'T DO. They will try to get into the game by throwing themselves at the damn wolves, while they're still learning, instead of seeing how it actually plays out beforehand. Master Duel (their official digital client) is really good for this since the animations give you time to parse things as they're happening, but YCS tournament feature matches (don't look up YCS Bologna 2025) also work.

>Consider Genesys
It's a throttled version of Advanced format where instead of a banlist, certain cards are assigned point values that make it so you can't just shove anything into any deck. It helps wrangle the game a lot, but wrangling it and stupifying it are two very different things. Pendulum and Link Monsters are also absent in the format, but what helps new players more than anything is the point system since it means that you can't shove 5+ engines and generic goodstuff into a single deck like you can with Advanced.
>>
>>97354074
Regardless of what you do, absolutely ignore >>97354538 's advice of Genesys. Its a shitty doa format that not even the youtube grifters want to touch.
>>
>>97354074
Watch https://youtu.be/IoW1jLrGEnU?si=8fqNGaCmv_8hkDAB if you think you want to get into the game and "remember it as a kid, so it's gotta be the same thing as it was 25+ hears ago". It covers how to play in the later half of the video while the front half is history.
But it sounds to me like you found where you want to be with the game which is just to enjoy the art. It's perfectly fine to be a secondary just don't be a knob about it. Don't go "uh summon bunch of monsters is le bad game, low turn le bad" if you don't want to understand the game and constantly make the same bottom of the barrel jokes like "what does pot of greed do?" from reddit and you're better than almost 99% of secondaries.
If you want to collect select singles if you're into the art then just ask for advice.

As a heads up, this >>97354595 is likely a "Farfa viewer". Which is a demographic of children or people who watch 20 hours of tiktok. Play whatever the hell you want.
>>
>>97354595
I said "consider", not "start with". There's a massive difference between the two. If someone's being overwhelmed by Advanced but they still like enough aspects of the game that they want to stick with it, then Genesys is a good alternative.

/tg/ products are fairly unique in that it's actually pretty simple to make them these days, with a plethora of products to assist in making and playtesting your game. Making your own games helps understand why games are made the way they are, as well as being fun to do.

>What you should post
Ideas for games, games you're currently making, updates to your own games in broad strokes, and any homebrewing for existing products that don't get much attention. Discussion about the above is welcome. Post good, be good, and look over others products, they care if someone looks more than anything.

they've made a robot esper and an arborian smuggler. i'm gonna throw them in to a space station in the neutral zone where they have to try and stop a terrorist threat, and have that lead into a planet-hopping story similar to KOTOR, where every couple of sessions they'll collect a macguffin on one planet and fly to the next. we were supposed to play this weekend, but rescheduled to this week.
i wanna test the leveling curve from level 1 to 10, some ground combat, space combat, social stuff, a couple of dungeon crawls, get them aligned with/hunted by different factions, go from zero to hero, maybe experience a death or two.

There's different tools for different types of world building but I give the edge to Cepheus. I am biased though.
I've been using Traveller (of which Cepheus is a variant) for decades to run my own settings. The tools for creating systems and sectors will help you make a setting quickly and the tech level standardization helps you manage setting consistency at a glance.
That said, I have a copy of SWN and have been using the random tables with my Traveller games. I find it a great resource.

Yes, and that is why to be fully realistic, Lobo has his space dolphins, Hitler had his animals and Valdor needs a Sangi to feel like a proper psycho.

The good shit got deleted, anon.
The trick with the purple site is to click 'download' on all the good shit you see, so that it registers as "purchased" and this way you are able to download the file even if it got deleted. The purple site remembers.

I still have nuscale MkIV on my list this way. Same for a lot of other stuff that got purged by James. Were we not on an anonymous and publicly viewable imageboard, I would have sent some over. But alas.

I wish, that before I die, 3d printing without using resin becomes good enough for at least stuff like tanks. I want to play a 100% vehicles company. Predators, Kratos, Vindicators and maybe speeders as scouts/recon.

You do not play games and you do not belong here. Please fuck off back to plebbit or twatter or whatever gay fuckpit you spawned from.

Of course the dorfslopper would know about gay pits lmao

First you have to get actial players instead of making up fake stories on the internet. And to do that you need real friends. So the first step you're looking at to solve your problem is putting some effort into making yourself less of an unlikable shitposting jackass.

Sorry that happened but you should probably stop crying about groodgeslop with a bad scotish accent being mocked.

Gateway and Elevation together are really well paired - Elevation adds a couple of options for whatever style you want to do, and returns the hand trap that's been in the game since ONR in the 90s

What can you do to make bandit encounters more immersive and interesting than the old ambush-fight shtick?

It has been speculated repeatedly that puckee has a friend on the mod team, and I understand that argument. I think the truth is more pathetic, though. The mod is mad that he's being "told what to do" and is actively allowing spamming so people correctly trying to get this idiot gone don't "win."

I think in general bandits are commonly thought of as brutes living outside of society and robbing/raping/murdering their way through a usually meager existence.
What if they're not counting on common armed robbery, but instead have more of a black market vibe going on? And when you meet them, they're not doing anything to harm you but trying to get through with whatever illicit goods they're transporting. Like some abducted young females and / or illegal reagents/magic stuff/weapons.
The party would be challenged to notice what is happening, and then be challenged to decide what course of action to take. Perhaps they keep their heads down and avoid conflict, or they demand a bribe. Or they attack then and there (make sure the bandits form a visibly possibly deadly encounter). They might also follow the bandits back and try to free the captives silently... Or become the ambushing party and see if they can kill some bandits in their sleep.

Another option is to have two groups be mid-combat, and both claim the others to be bandits. What group will they help out and "kingmake"? Or will they just let the combat run its course? Will they "third party" the whole lot and take all the loot? Or will they pacify the fight and try to get them to leave each other alone, thereby becoming part of the issue of whose goods are these anyway. You might sprinkle some evidence to the truth around the scene for players who wish to engage in that route or just keep it a coin toss.

Third option is the bandits are con artists of some type and will try to swindle the party. Snake oil, soothsaying or acting like victims and pickpocketing. Or they might send the party out to a nearby dungeon and hope to loot the corpses after the inevitable failure.

Fourth option is that bandits prefer soft targets, and adventuring parties are not such targets. So they try to get away. Up to the party to decide if they give chase or leave it.

>Throats cut, boxes broken open, and a hasty trail leading off in the forest nearby. You listen closely to hear laughter and lots of noise which means lots of men.
You know, turning to banditry does not automatically require one to have an IQ below room temperature.
The rest of these read like you asked chat GPT for a response.

Make the bandits real bastards. Like not the fantasy type of baby-eating bastard but like the real world type of thug bastard that is all too familiar to modern day people.

Fighting them will feel very satisfying.
>>
Instead of money, the bandits demands some useless mundane item from the group. Depending how interested your group is for the reason behind it you spin the story further

>the bandits demand every scissors you have on hand
>turns out they actually used to be normal farmers but are now enslaved by a hag
>the hag uses all those scissors to create a scissor-golem
>she sends it out to terrorize the coutryside
