ok, but we're discussing making a game so that's the relevant part. and we don't have to guess, we know, because /acg/ collectively have a ton of direct experience with netrunner. /acg/ was born out of /anrg/, and even after all these years I'd be surprised if it wasn't the game the largest number of us have in common in our collections.
plus whatever your thematic hangups are with cyberpunk megacorps, they don't directly translate to whatever faces you'd put on "the house" in a heist/con game. there's a lot of space in that theme. shit yes, playing the A-team or Oceans Eleven or the Italian Jobbers is fun, but the "villains" can definitely be compelling too. hell, going with your 'b-b-but all the little kids want to be good guys' argument, they're by default the more law-abiding ones since they're not doing the robbing.

Why would anyone do that? Dunking on Sequeltrannies, Saxonites, and anti-EUtists is one of the great joys in life, the more opportunities to do it the better. One of my proudest memories was the time I managed to snark about TLJ and RoS enough to prompt a local Sequeltranny into a literal screaming sobbing meltdown that got them kicked out of a local gaming club. Try to set an example in painting quality, if they have any spirit at all it should drive them to improve, or try very carefully to suggest they improve like inspecting a model and asking how they do it or have they tried a wash. As for cringe and not liking them, that's a different hurdle to jump, one that's hard to gauge without knowing what they do but you could always keep them at workplace acquaintace and do that level of friendliness.

I don't think that's true. I've never seen so many faggots outside RPG circles as I have within them. The hobby is pretty fruity, and when you look at prominent early figures like Jaquays or even Ed Greenwood's magical realm to things like RPG.net and other nerd hobby forums, I think it's safe to say that tabletop games were woke long before the cambrian explosion on tumblr.

I'd say the opposite is true. The 1% that bitches the most about these things are the rw guys who were either going to pirate it, or buy it anyway regardless of the grumbling. No real sense in pandering to rightoid cheapskates if you lose 10 people who pay 10x for every 1 rw culture warrior you bring in by pandering. The perennial problem with the right and the arts, is that they almost never put their money where their mouths are and support sympathetic artists.

In general unicool sculpts are perfect; siocast can be a bit hit-and-miss, but I've never really heard about any complaints for those two.

I was painting Unicool minis (from Eldfall Chronicles) before and I had very positive experience but out of Siocast minis from Infinity, I had rather mediocre experience (that Torchlight guy from their pack had literally melted main gun, O-12 mulebots were okay but problematic to clean from mold lines while Squalo II only had problem with removing nub from the head, otherwise he was very nice). Would that, and some D20s be enough to just go to the store and play? Or do I need the leader and the zond to bring it up to 100 points, like 98 or something but you know.

"Normal" game size is 300. Bakunin Observance action has some 250, but wysiwyg it would mean you have 7.5 SWC. Lucky for you we're friendly to proxies, so lets add Kusanagi lieutenant and downgrade multi sniper moira to multi rifle specialist. That leaves us with 10 models and somewhat awkward ~285 points depending what exact loadouts you take. We could proxy Orphan and some gubbin as Zoe and Piwell(sync) and that would take us into exactly 300 points and 6.5 SWC, but then we would not have anyone to complete Haris link with Penitent and one of the Cenobites, as seems to be the intended route. We could use Specialist Multi Rifle Moira as third wheel and put one of the Cenobites with Reverend core link with Kusanagi and rest of the Moiras. That would still leave the Haris fireteam with the Special Dice bonus.

Another matter is how good of a beginner army this is. 10 orders isn't that much especially when you're still learning and the list lacks some staples like inflitrators. Moiras are pretty squishy if your enemy hard counters them with Visors or template weapons. So ask your opponent to not go full tournament mode.

I have a friend who gets very frustrated when playing any elven, or agility/passing team, because he tries to play them like a bashing team in blood bowl. No screening, he will move players right next to a bigger guy or ball carrier, etc. How do I break him out of this habit? He gets frustrated over it.

Also what would you pick for the underworld big guy? Rat ogre or troll? I vote for troll just to throw goblins at people.

The most recent box came with a campaign structure about exploring a necron tomb world, so I was thinking I'd take that and inject the same freeform lore writing that I used to help the campaign I played back just before KT18 released to make it feel more immersive.
