Unless there's something I'm missing, in 5.24e if you take the Hide Action and succeed the DC 15 Stealth roll, you're Invisible until you make a loud enough sound, attack, cast a spell with a verbal component, an enemy with Blindsight/Truesight/See Invisibility has line of sight on you within their special senses range, OR any enemy takes the Search Action (Perception) and meets or exceeds your Stealth Roll total/DC. Wouldn't this mean you could just stealth and wander about really quietly, like it's BG3? Get Advantage on most fights unless something's got a special sight that can catch the group?

We have all experienced the coming and going so GMs, Players and games; and then left holding the bag too start all over again at Square One. If and when you have to start over from scratch how and where (online) would you start I'll look for groups and games? There has been numerous reasons that would force someone to start all over again be it scheduling, life, work, people changing.
>>97349305get rid of dice, you must complete a series of skill based challenges in order to determine your outcomes.
>>97349305Fuck it, I bite.>First, pick a system.Sadly as much as I hate it. I would say 5e would be your best bet to get a game going. Though if you can find people who can learn to read a rulebook to learn how to play would suggest games like ACKS, or maybe "X" without number series. Since you have Worlds/Fantasy, Stars/Space, Cities/Cyberpunk, and Ashes/Post-Apocalyptic.>Second, Look for people in your area to play over online. You can do, Roll20, and online based games but would suggest getting friends together for a game in person over online. >Last, Would suggest setting time for it.What will kill a group more than anything is people who pop out often cause they don't bother setting time for it. Now things will happen, but if it become them quick to drop the game often maybe replace them before everyone else drop the time. I can understand things like kids and maybe help them with finding a sitter or something but don't let them always use the kids as a excuse to not make it and all.

>>97373637Yes, and probably the reason why elves are going extinct with inbreeding.
>>97373716Inbreeding doesn't necessarily lead to extinction. Jews have been doing inbreeding for millennia and they're the smartest people on Earth. The real problem with inbreeding is that it allows bad genes to proliferate. But if there are no bad genes, or there are other ways to check bad genes, inbreeding is no more dangerous than any other reproductive strategy.
>>97373533Cheaper food production. And a significant widening of the population bottleneck, since the scarcity of phosphorus is one of the biggest problems with feeding the population beyond a certain point.

>>97373799>smartest people on Earth>jewsTop lel.>>97373637Would depend on how exactly is it inherited. If it's gene-like, or has an outright genetic component, then yes, like the good goy above said.If it's some sort of bloodline blessing/curse, then it's more lax, but still favoring a clan-like structure.A more curious take could be something like willingly passing the magic talent to the next generation. To avoid said talent eventually going extinct, think of it more as investing a portion of one's power. Like planting a seed.Whether or not it'll grow will depend on the recipient, with the amount of invested power increasing potential for that growth.I think this makes for a more interesting dynamic between mages and their apprentices. As well as adding some intrigue and power play to the powerful mages' families.

>>97343404Best kind, absolute kino. Especially with a human ass.
>>97343404Both are good in different ways. An unreasonable enemy is pure and simple. Fight or die! Kill or Be Killed! Just good bloody fun. However, a reasonable enemy adds intrigue. Negotiations. Factionalism. Negotiate peace or prepare for war? Turn enemies into allies or destroy their self-confidence? It's more complex, sophisticated, and open to out of the box thinking. Just try not to blend the two. It leads to the kind of thinking where IRL humans are just baddies to be destroyed and that's not a line you want blurred.

I'm getting back into Kill Team after a few years and found a box of all the terrain they sold in 1st edition including the original starters massive 40k terrain and all the shit like trenches given away with kill teams to clear stock. My question is how much of that is actually worth it with nu kill team? seems like most teams are going to be five models on average and sure those L shapes of mechanicus terrain can have a place along the typhon stuff but a lot of this feels way too big for modern Kill Team.Would it be better to stick with my necromunda stuff considering the model count?
>>97368748Overall I really prefer it. The core rules are so much better where they actually changed them. Monsters feel like proper monsters now. You can’t mix and match with lists like before, which for some people is a negative, but for me it’s a positive. Yes you are locked out of some combos now but balancing allies before was painful. If you’re coming from any mainline GW game, you can expect MESBG to feel way more balanced than games you are used to playing, and within a few games you’ll quickly realize how much more skill tends to matter in MESBG.
>>97372720Thanks for the feedback, I was always interested in the skirmish model, so the game felt like a good alternative to mordheim for the times when I wanted something different.
>>97372479It's not worth much, the killzones are all bespoke now and have predone arrangements. Super nice for Horus Heresy or Necromunda though. Current edition of Kill Team is honestly a tournament-focused game (and it does it better than 40k).
>>97372479>I'm getting back into Kill Team after a few years and found a box of all the terrain they sold in 1st edition including the original starters massive 40k terrain and all the shit like trenches given away with kill teams to clear stock.None of this sounds familiar. Do you have pictures? The Wall of Martyrs is the only trench-like official terrain I remember. I do not recall GW "giving away" terrain with Kill Teams at any point, and it doesn't sound like a normal GW practice.

>>97373081Depends on what you're looking for. I'm only familiar with the VtM ones. There's some good ideas, but they can often be really railroady. For example, Fountains of Bright Crimson, a VTDA premade set in Jerusalem has its plot hinge on a vital lead being cutscene-killed by an Assamite despite the potential for PCs to theoretically have enough auspex to spot the 'mite, and the victim being a knight from a clan with Fortitude, aka the only discipline that could give him a tiny chance to survive an aggravated damage sneak attack. I ended up having to rewrite a lot because I hate railroading and hey, the overstatted Assamite rolled poorly, so the dude narrowly survived. Despite that, there's a lot of interesting stuff going on and it lets the PCs have a brush with the power of an Antediluvian. For modern nights stuff, I like some of the Chicago premades. While setting-specific, you could theoretically rewrite them for other cities relatively easily. There's one about the PCs being caught in a literal chess game between two Methuselah, and unlike most Methuselah plots, they aren't completely impotent. Their actions influence which Methuselah wins, even if the chess players are too strong for them to directly fight outside of a fluke of the dice. If you want something wild, there's one premade story about a holocaust survivor that blames vampires for the third reich, and is working on an anti-vampire bioweapon. Fun to have a hunter who is a frail old man relying entirely on his intellect. I'd stay away from most of the Revised era premades, since the PCs spend a lot more time being passive observers to metaplot updates.
>>97373081I've read good things about the OG Chicago by Night/Ashes to Ashes, though I'm not sure if the V20 Dust to Dust kept that quality. Other recommendations I've seen are Giovanni Chronicles and Diablerie Mexico, personally I can attest throwing newbies into Blood Nativity while making sure to keep the pre-embrace scenes brief makes for a fun time of "you're a vampire, now what?" before the coterie gets in trouble and you throw the Sheriff at them.
>>97373688I remember an anon recommending an adventure where your coterie was converted at a lab of some kind and you were trying to find your sire and understand your clan, so the adventure let you play around with starting disciplines as sort of soft-caitiffs. It was pretty interesting but I don't remember the name or if the guy himself made it
>>97373763You're talking about Alien Hunger, and the scientist is literally Louis Pasteur.
>>97373805Yes that's the one, thank you king. Seems like a very interesting adventure though K haven't had the time to run it yet. May adapt it as a storyline for my New York game.
