Overall I really prefer it. The core rules are so much better where they actually changed them. Monsters feel like proper monsters now. You can’t mix and match with lists like before, which for some people is a negative, but for me it’s a positive. Yes you are locked out of some combos now but balancing allies before was painful.
If you’re coming from any mainline GW game, you can expect MESBG to feel way more balanced than games you are used to playing, and within a few games you’ll quickly realize how much more skill tends to matter in MESBG.

I play kill team with custom terrain setups all the time. Assuming that by "1st edition" you mean either KT18 or KT21, the game is still played on the same size of board.
It's also just the most recent teams being 5 model squads, I imagine a result of the design team finally feeling brave enough to open that option up for new teams and being able to unleash all the options that they've had in store. There are still teams with up to 14 models and 10-ish models is very common.

5th edition codex are the ones that feel dull, unimaginative, hard to use (thanks to the troop info being split and duplicated in two different parts of the book) and unbalanced as fuck.
Yes that style of book started during 4th ed (eldar, orks, dark angels, chaos) but those are straight 5th edition books. The ork one released like one month before 5th.
In the other hand real 4th edition dex are very good and compatible with 3.5 space marines, tiranids, tau for example.

Unless there's something I'm missing, in 5.24e if you take the Hide Action and succeed the DC 15 Stealth roll, you're Invisible until you make a loud enough sound, attack, cast a spell with a verbal component, an enemy with Blindsight/Truesight/See Invisibility has line of sight on you within their special senses range, OR any enemy takes the Search Action (Perception) and meets or exceeds your Stealth Roll total/DC. Wouldn't this mean you could just stealth and wander about really quietly, like it's BG3? Get Advantage on most fights unless something's got a special sight that can catch the group?

I'm trying to I just want to make it "agnostic" of the party as well, and have it make sense for what it would be in the world. Been looking at a lot of CR 4 constructs for comparison and they mostly don't have immunity or resistance to non magic non adamantine BPS, except stone defender or whatever. They are level 5 but CR 4 creatures are still relevant in groups. So resistance to nonmagic BPS starts to fall apart REALLY fast.

The Imperium could absolutely take Pop Star up until the point Kirby notices and eliminates them. Kirby is EXTREMELY powerful, but he isn't omnipotent (he's actually kind of stupid) and he's quite lazy. Kirby's desire to "solve a problem" is directly proportionate to how much it's personally inconveniencing himself, his lifestyle, or his immediate friends. Once Kirby "locks on" to a problem though, he's like a pit bull: he won't let go until he's completely resolved the situation, as he understands it.

Companies are shoving GenAI into shit where it's actively harmful to their productivity because it sells well to venture capitalists who all think it's the future because they've got the attention spans of goldfish and have been fully hoodwinked by the GenAI grifter loop. In 3 years since this started, there have been two GenAI chatbots that actually helped productivity. The first is a voice to text bot that turns voicemails into emails. It's not as good as the free one on my cell phone, but it's also less secure. The second is one that takes GPS data from our sales department's cell phones to suggest the correct customer account when they are filling out their sales paperwork. It's not that the sales guys don't know what customer they're visiting, it's that if they don't do their paperwork at the customer's location, they are required to type in the customer's information themselves, so it reduces how many sales requests get consigned to post-it note oblivion in some salesman's car and forgotten about until the customer calls the head office all pissed that they never received what they were trying to buy.
