>>96490612There's not much more you can do for belph on top of what it already has, all you can add is a way to get rid of level 6-7 bodies and a clutch final attack.Still loses hard to on deletions, but the added consistency makes it more bearable.
>>96491487Man I attended two release events, bought a heap of singles (including playsets of both SECs) and still choose it over BT22 for my participation packs at locals so have probably spent more than that. But DM is a lot of fun
Belphemon option
Wish Release came out this month, I'm excited to play it in my Chronicle deck.
immediate alt art reveal?
The spicier the better. I'll start to get the ball rolling: MTG, DnD and Warhammer are actually good for the hobby. They get new people started in this hobby and they keep the trend chasers contained and away from the rest of the hobby.Appealing to the normie masses is a necessary evil in order to keep what you love afloat. Even if it comes with the negative baggage of doing so.Generals are good for /tg/.
>>96487337>3d printing will one day become the standard. And may even phase out hard plastic as the tech gets better.Currently it's just not the case as the material is way too fucking breakable even on the most flexible or tough resins. You ship it, you'll get breakages, no matter how much you try against or how sturdy the model is. Much of the problem has to do with couriers being morons as well, of course. The other problem is scalability. Making 10000 cast/injection plastic minis is much more affordable and scaleable than making 10000 3d printed minis, which requires much more human hands and input along that way. It's a much less automated process as every single models requires a significant amount of post processing work from print. It's why 3D printing is currently not a thing in the retail market and probably won't be until the process requires considerably less post processing steps from built plate to packaging.
>>96491913I halfway agree because I feel like the lore/canon is like a guideline or suggestion, and people who sperg out over a minor detail being wrong are annoying as fuckWould love to run Dark Heresy because I like the system but my prospective players are all giant lore spergs so maybe not
>>96487457>We are normies. None of us is special.Do not think this as a 4chan browser. You unironically think differently if you use this website over any of the mainstream social medias regardless of the reason.
>>96488817>comic made by /v/tards who don't realize the tl;dr is "Marketing did it"Yeah good point
99% of all shitskins do not want to play fantasy games, regardless of how many brownoids companies clumsily shoehorn into the artwork of their games. If you’re a white guilt redditor, just take solace in knowing that you gave nogs a big warm gay welcome into your hobby but they just weren’t interested. Accept that trad games are a white culture thing, along with all the fantasy they depict, and move on
Now that the dust has settled... was 5e a good line or not? It got a lot of new people into the hobby, but it also has a lot of flaws at a design level.
>>96489730>Forgotten Realms was the official default setting and they never made a book for it.They did and it FUCKING SUCKED
>>96489746The sword coast isn't the whole setting. And the fact that they did one corner of Faerun and fucked it up and then never did another just reinforces the point.
>>96489511>They are literal virgin babies. Literally all the powergamers I know are actual fucking virgins in their mid-20s. Whereas all the people I play OSR with save for one are married or in serious relationshipsYou're talking like a woman, fagmeister.
>>96486930It was fine for what it was. I played it for a while, but it didn't have staying power and I don't think it was supposed to. Great for beer and snacks games where you are just looking to kill some monsters and chill with yours buds in a system you can be sure everyone knows.
>Want to DM for my friends>Don't know where to start, don't know 5e so good, would get overwhelmed>Pick up a 5e-lite-NuSR-mix>Take out all the NuSR things>The logistics system is gutted, the core gameplay loop is removed in favour of milestone levelling>It's now group improvisation with a skeletal, nay, vestigial, retro combat systemWoTC should release 5e-Lite, I think.
Is Magic actually at its all time height in popularity or is that just Hasbro making that claim and consumers regurgitating it without doing more research? From what I’ve seen it seems the game was actually bigger around 2001 - 2013.
>>96492385They have brought in players with no long term hold. Wait until 2028 or 2029 and ask again about their popularity then
>>96492385I think its marketing. They've been doing a lot of aggressive marketing lately: Reddit, TikTok, YouTube, fake influencers making the game look super social. I believe that because of theis there are a lot of first time players coming, looking for that exaggerated social aspect they've seen from influencers or because of whatever UB set is their own interest. FNM where I'm at has been either packed or dead, pretty much alternating and when it's packed its usually new players trying it out, often disappointed. TL;DRthere are more people trying magic than ever before, but it's become so thematically inconsistent and different from the portrayal made by influencers that it's probably going to die.
>>96492385Its probably at an all time high for scalpers and people who do pack openings on youtube, but all time low for people who like to play the game

>>96488336Yea. I know the old monster manual and a cool tidbit>Gaze of Stone. Basilisks are ponderous for hunting creatures, but they needn't chase prey. Meeting a basilisk's supernatural gaze can be enough to affect a rapid transformation, transforming a victim into porous stone. Basilisks, with their strong jaws, are able to consume the stone. The stone returns to organic form in the basilisk's gullet.>Some alchemists are said to know how to process the basilisk's gullet and the fluids contained within. [Properly handled, the gullet produces an oil that can return petrified creatures to flesh and life.] Unfortunately for such a victim, any parts lost in stone form remain absent if the creature revives. Revivification using the oil is impossible if a vital part of the petrified creature, such as its head, is detached.Which is good to know. If someone gets petrified, and you don't have a cure on hand, maybe someone with a decent survival skill can harvest the oil of a slain basilisk for a cure. And as I said, there are rules for what to roll as a study action, but not what the roll would provide>>96489939I'll take a look at these. >>96491596>>96491608Thanks for the info, guys. I personally think that the 30-40% of tables not using 2024 content is still really weird and kind of unhelpful, but I at least understand the reasons and apprehensions. Hopefully they sort something out. Even as a Paizodrone, I wouldn't want 5e24 to flop, at least not for insane levels of self-sabotage with 5e14's own dominance being in the way. I think that's honestly kind of a scary thought.
>>96491927>I wouldn't want 5e24 to flopWhy? If it flops maybe they'll have to make something decent. I like 5e that's why I'm here but I love variety too. If more people try games other than 5e I'm all for it. I despise pathfinder though. The people who play it are too retarded to play something non d20, but too pretentious to just play 5e.
>>96491644Yes, but not instagram pretty, which is what you posted.
>>96487695>>96489563>>96491442>>96491927The biggest factor really is that, over the ten years between 2014 and 2024, the playerbase had identified a lot of the issues and come up with a variety of fixes and homebrew material. A fixed and updated 5e was kind of already available, with multiple places to discuss which materials to use. And the best part was that it was modular and could be adjusted to suit your playgroup's preferred level of power and complexity. When WotC announced a revision, there was a lot of expectation that we'd see something along the lines of what we'd been seeing amateurs come up with. Instead, we got mostly-pointless word shuffling, needless standardization that broke some class fantasies, a few spells being completely rewritten solely to overwrite their broken 2014 counterparts, and a half-assed weapon system that was clearly hurriedly copied from BG3. There were some good ideas in there, but the useful material per page ratio wasn't worth making the jump for groups that had already instituted more comprehensive and meaningful revisions. While some brewers, like our local Bullshit Anon, have implemented some of the 5.5 changes in their work, they're typically treated more like a list of possible changes than as a base edition to build on.

>>96490542This looks awesome so far! And yeah just small patches of trailing scales (and her wings when she gets to the right level to manifest them). I don't think the ability gives other dragon traits (unfortunately). She has bright purple eyes and pointed, but not super long since she's a half-elf, ears. Maybe they could poke out from her hair just a bit? For her chest, maybe a c cup? Bigger than the average full-elf due to her human blood, at least. Anyway as long as she's not a super-hentai elf with her boobs bigger than her head it should be fine lol. For muscularity maybe a bit of tone on her arms and legs since her top leaves her arms pretty bare. She'd probably have visible back muscles but only when she brings her wings out. She's not really like ripped or anything. Despite CON being her second best score she is still a squishy caster with like an 8 in STR lol. This is pretty cool anon! Thanks for your interest in Val. >>96492379If they are just hallucinations induced by the equipment, then that's just a flaw in the device, same as how NODs can give temporary disadvantages like Tunnel Vision and No Depth Perception. You don't need to make it buildable with the advantage / disadvantage system because it's just gear.If they are real entities, then they have some kind of Invisibility (or maybe high levels of Chameleon or Obscure) which doesn't work against this extremely specific technology. A web search says that the red night-vision made heat visible, so it seems like some kind of Infravision. I guess the demons could just have Invisibility in the visible spectrum and not IR, although that raises the question of why they only appeared in this specific instance. Maybe they realised they were being observed and improved their invisibility spells or something?
>>96492489>>96492406"Advanced" but faulty prototype equipment causing long term hallucinations sounds very funny for a group to deal with

Where does the idea that the Imperial Guard are elite come from? Some of their regiments are literally recruited from Feudal Worlds where the local have never even seen a lasgun before. A good chunk of the regiments are noted for using primitive tactics including WW1 tactics, Napoleonic style warfare, and even pre-historic barbarian savagery. Their lascannons and flak armor might be good by today's standards but they're not good by the setting's standards, they're not even good by the Imperium's, and everybody else has the armor or toughness that makes the lasgun utterly inadequate. Pretty much every conflict of note ends up requiring Space Marines to pull them through, even conflicts against the fucking Tau which are like 1/1000000th the size of the Imperium.
>>96488450I mean, I believe it’s about a third of Americans own firearms, but many will shoot it once or even never.your point is mostly right. you can teach someone to shoot a gun safely in a few hours, teach them to shoot okay in a few days, teach to shoot competently in a few weeks, and teach them to be warriors in a few months. a lot of the “elite”ness is a representation of how much money an organization is willing to put into the individual. training is very expensive.
>>96482859>Where does the idea that the Imperial Guard are elite come from? From two places.First, it comes from the fact that generally speaking, across the entire Imperium, there are only two "professional" armies of regular humans; Planetary Defence Forces and the Imperial Guard. Generally the PDF are given only the bare minimum of equipment and training and will probably only ever see actual combat if one of two things happen; if their planet is attacked, or if they're conscripted into the Guard.Part of most planets tithes include soldiers for the Imperial Guard, and the first place they start taking them from is the PDF.A Guardsmen who has been in the guard for 2 years and seen combat is much more experienced, and hence "elite" then a PDF trooper who has been in the PDF for a decade and seen no combat.Secondly, because you, like the people who say the Guard are elite, are cherry picking your examples. When the people who say the Guard are elite, they almost always talking about particular Guard regiments, or Guardsmen from a particular world, like Cadia (who are often portrayed as being the best of the stock-standard Guard), or Catachans, or other more prominent Guard regiments/planets .Where as you, you are talking about the Guardsmen from backwater planets that are less well know and fall more into the 'Random conscript grabbed to fill the tithe quota. Basically like this anon >>96491358 said.
>>96489581>>96490737>>96490826The Pacific Island Japs were legitimately fucking crazy. Sure, you could get some of them to surrender, but you have to keep in mind that >strip down to your underwear, take this knife, crawl on your belly through jungle/sharp coral rock for 3 miles that way, then do your best to stab at least one person before you are killedwas a completely normal order to get, and it was executed on a nightly basis. They were hardcore as fuck. US Marines regarded them as essentially demonic in nature.

>>96487202>Flak armor is about as tough as the Tau’s combat armorTau combat armour is carapace and pulse rifles are better than bolters. >>96470252DnD is super party focused so adding mechanical interparty interaction without actually raising the pvp flag seems like a very coherent idea.Combat and balance issues are deeply rooted in the game and also in player preferences that fixing those is going to be an impossible task. Do you want combat as a sideshow, babby's first tactical game, full on minichess or a mudshit wargame?
I DMed it and I'm preparing a short campaign. It's a very nice system that actually breaks up the slow combat, but you NEED a good group with that one faggot hoarding the spotlight. It's very nice that the DM can react with negative consequences and even double turn in combat if he so wishes. Everyone on the table enjoyed that in combat I made actual boss fights with different creatures, tanking, debugging and buffing, and one big asshole in the back line who can resurrect fallen mobs by marking a stress.
