I haven't been on this conversation, but I disagree with that other anon about the gy exile being the important part of Farewell. the important part is that you can see that one mode would affect you the most and choose everything else, making things very one-sided, or you're an idiot who chooses everything and the game drags on for another several turns. and of course it's very good that it exiles instead of destroys.
as for a situation that can ONLY EVER be solved by JUST farewell and NOTHING ELSE, it's not hard to imagine some kind of heavily protected boardstate; and for the comparison to Merciless Eviction, the lockdown just needs to involve two non-overlapping card types, or two opponents each focusing on a different permanent type.
with two opponents you can just say one has indestructible and hexproof/protection artifacts and the other enchantments. specifically you can say that maybe Inspirit/Padeem/that 'artifacts have protection from cmcs of artifacts you control' partner being active with its own protection and Ethersworn Canonist, and on the other side is two out of Sterling Grove/Greater Auramancy/Privileged Position and I-can't-find-anything-that-gives-only-enchantments-indestructible-so-it'll-have-to-be Avacyn I guess.

CB as a company is not in a good spot right now.
These last 2 updates: bringing back the sectorials, coming up with a new army, fixing old armies, new rules... these are Panic Moves.
CB is probably not selling enough of their miniatures to sustain such SKU bloat.
They are barely making it, head above the water. Read between the lines and you'll see a company scared of loosing their customer base. Another mistep like the "Reinforcements" thing and they're gone.

We can ask for whatever we want. They are as vulnerable as those Kickstarter companies during the last 2 weeks of their campaign. A single negative comment can make the whole structure collapse.

for us, Infinity players? we've never been in a better spot. You want the Taqeul? Ask for it on Facebook and make noise about it. You'll have it in 2 weeks.

Hell, one of the two starter scenarios the Call of Cthulhu rulebook gives you directly involves a Great Old One, Gla'aki, who makes an appearance at the scenario's end point and can start swatting the player characters down like bugs. And, I mean, the original "The Call of Cthulhu" story itself ends with a chase scene as sailors flee an awakening Cthulhu lest he crush them to death or feast on them as his morning snack.
A problem with a lot of pastiches of Lovecraft's works is that they're afraid to use the gods or involve them, which just isn't Lovecraftian. In the original works, the gods showed up or interacted with the characters all the time. They just largely didn't care, acting out their grander, more terrible functions, and the harm they cause is simply because they're too powerful and beyond us to want to be careful about us. A wayward flick of their wrist can destroy our entire civilization and they wouldn't notice.

Xps is durable enough that if you handle it with basic care it won't break. You can dent it with dice and minatures but you'd really have to drop some heavy dice or minatures on them to ruin a piece.
Xps is the best option IMO it cuts easily with a knife, better with a hot knife cutter (but you'll need a vented room + face mask with filter to be safe. Everyone says its perfectly fine to breath in the fumes but I don't trust anyone on this)
Non acidic glue (PVA or modge podge) and black paint+water is what I use to seal and prime my pink foam for painting. It creates a protective layer that will keep it safe in normal play situations. Water will react with the glue though so be careful with that.
The terrain tutor on YouTube taught me alot when I was first getting into building. Just know your first few projects will look bad until you pick up the skills and techniques. Like everything practice makes perfect!

I recently read through the 2e rules and classes after years of being away from RPGs (largely due to disgust with wotc/5e and that being the only option in my area). I had really high hopes because of what I had remembered reading about some classes like Investigator and their Devise A Strategy, or the Swashbuckler and its Panache/Bravado. I also liked the idea of the 3-action turns. But honestly, I really dislike most of what I've read directly and over the last several threads here.
- Most classes have few class features, frontloaded in the first level or three and then basic stat boosts from then on.
- MOST features/actions/spells boil down to conditional +1 or -1 buffs/debuffs. I know it's supposed to still be functional due to degrees of success but it still looks like most of them would usually be ineffectual and dull, so why bother casting or using those abilities if you could just hit someone for real damage instead?
- MOST classes sound like they fail to deliver their class fantasy overall, whether due to being incompetent at their intended role or being a baffling mishmash of hyper-specific features that aren't coherent or thematic. Thaumaturge is a kinda neat idea but I just can't understand what it's supposed to be thematically other than its mechanics. I thought Exemplar would be like Hercules or the 4e Invoker, but they're all fixated on using artifacts they somehow make but only use up to one of at a time. It's lame. Oracle feels like a pale shadow of its 1e version I remember. Guardian is very coherent but seems utterly shoehorned into "guy with heavy armor who does nothing out of combat."
- In the end, the only classes that actually seemed like they'd be interesting to me are Alchemist due to its freebie items throughout the day (but which I don't trust to function well now), Commander, Investigator (to some degree and only if the metanarrative stuff doesn't break the campaign/DM), Kineticist, and Swashbuckler.

Am I right? Is it really this bad?

Yikes, shame about this team, especially with how happy I was with the paintjob. I don't care about power level beyond a certain extent, but every balance update has just neutered the fun parts of the team more and more. Now it'll feel like the dollarstore version of the team, with a priest that dropped out of primary school holding a lame sermon and using his ability, "shimmy some parts of the procession". I'll need to forget how it has felt to play them so far before I can enjoy them again, which will take a long time.

An alternate weird history 28mm/32mm tabletop skirmish game still in a pre-release playtesting phase but with the full release slated for this year. Based on the art and lore of Mike Franchina, whose illustrations you may have seen floating around on /tg/ for a several years now, and designed by Tuomas Pirinen, one of the original creators of Mordheim. It's grimdark, it's visceral, it's awesome, and it's very Blanchitsu.

Should Space Marines be made more common? These mythical warriors of only 1 million or so total spread thin throughout the Imperium does NOT match up with what we actually see, which is the Astartes showing up in large numbers to even minor conflicts and dying in large numbers as well.

The route I would take is reduce their lore capabilities to get closer to the tabletop feeling, and increase chapter numbers to allow more narrative room for losses. A supersoldier rather than a demigod, and 10,000+ a chapter so 10-50 deaths isn't a remarkable loss.

Even though the Marines' ground performance gets propagandized to hell, their real strength is the fact they are a combined arms space force which is somewhat of a rarity in the IOM: that chapter of 50 supersoldiers has access to multiple battle barges comparable to a battleship in ability plus supporting craft.

They're mascots to their space navies, which are the actual muscle in their offensive ability.

According to one of the old necron codices, there are millions of tomb worlds. Multiple times as many tomb worlds as there are worlds claimed by the Imperium. Every other faction out there is a complete and utter joke next to necrons.
