It's mostly just this thread, there are occasionally a few disgruntled opinions I see on other social media outlets but for the most part its pretty neutral. Generally when metas get boring/stale or when there's some controversy around you see a surge in posting. I think the Dev Talk video that people are crashing out about on here was pretty much universally well-received outside of their treatment of Blitz, which isn't the main thrust of the complaints here

The real problems we face are the game caving in on itself due to the reprints. There's collector's pieces, like cold foil Legendaries, sitting in the thirties because of these reprint policies. Not playable non foils, the first editions of the past. The supposed reprint policy was set to preserve prices, but when LSS bent the rules to not include alternative artworks, they shot the long time collectors in their knee caps.

Look at this shit. Capped out at 155 usd. Now you can get one for 35. It will cost you about four and a half coldies all the way past four and a half years since it was printed. They're failing everything this game has established with the latest wave of reprints. This is unprecidented levels of bad decisions.

Now Tunic ultimately makes sense as a reprint. They have done it so many times I've lost count. So why reprint it again?

Well now, given the context of the latest dev talk, it seems we know why. They don't know how to replace tunic, so they don't even try. They rather gut the market to pieces than create a side grade generic gearpiece.

And now... Lookie here. They just can't help themselves. They reprinted a card on the anniversary of when it was originally printed. They waited a whole year. I'm sure collectors are thrilled about this most crucial 'spoiler' revealed to the fabulous community today.

>AI-Assisted Skillset: Once per day, the kingking may query the machine spirits as a 1-round action. In doing so, the kingking must navigate to an online large language model chat bot, such as ChatGPT, and input the prompt provided below, replacing “insert_here” with a class name, spell descriptor, class feature, or creature type or subtype, or similar descriptive word (see note and example). For every 2 kingking levels possessed, the level listed in the query may be 1 higher (i.e. a level 6 kingking may query for 13th level class features).
>The kingking retains this ability for 24 hours.

>Query: For Pathfinder 1st edition, please generate a single class feature with no more than 4 sentences of text. This class feature should be equivalent to class features gained at 10th level or higher. The theme of this class feature should be insert_here.

>Special: This courtier may be selected multiple times; each time this courtier is selected, the kingking may use ai-assisted skillset 1 additional time per day.

>Example: Examples for the query could be classes (i.e. barbarian, harbinger, incanter, paladin, psion, wizard, etc.), descriptors (i.e. curse, draconic, fire, mind-affecting, etc.), a class feature (i.e. armor training, bonus feats, divine grace, rage, sneak attack, etc.), or creature type and subtype (i.e. animal, elemental, kaiju, qlippoth, etc.). Query complexity may be expanded subject to GM permission, such as multiple keywords listed as “curse” and “barbarian”.

The first time I have ever seen an LLM directly referenced as part of a game mechanic.

Same with Nocticula and Arazni. Made them gods and then did absolutely fucking nothing with either.
>>

>Made them gods and then did absolutely fucking nothing with either.
That's not true.

Nocticula went from being a (largely heterosexual) brother-fucker to a lesbian. Because that's what Paizo does; if you're evil, you're heterosexual or hetero-dominant bisexual, and if you're good you're gay or asexual. They did this with Sorshen too, who went from a bisexual giga-whore Runelord of Lust to asexual (because she didn't turn Good, just Chaotic Neutral.)

Nta but he's not inherently wrong insofar as wotc is chud-adjacent. Obviously it's not universal in the company or anything and many parts don't fall in line with chud ideologies, especially artists (that's normal though, rightoids are almost universally incapable of creating art especially as a living), many writers, and the PR types etc. But the company itself would drop all of that in a heartbeat if they thought it'd help them make an extra buck.

At that point you are far beyond the point where it can be treated as a monster. That's just a mobile dungeon. And like any dungeon, bombarding it with trebuchets and other siege weapons is a really boring way to clear a dungeon.

Why aren't gnomes going around doing shit to sway the course of history like elves do?

They live 500 years, are intelligent, curious, and have a sense of humor. You're telling me they haven't banded together to do something with their minds and lifespan? Be the shadow government of a human empire with puppet leaders held in control with enchantments and illusions? Create a cult around a fake god to sow hilarious chaos with random rules and pit evil against evil? Blow up the moon?

I can understand why halflings are just fine with leisure time but why are gnomes content to be hidden and just observing?

>In the game Werewolf: The Apocalypse, the Garou (werewolves) were made to defend the earth from the cosmic forces that threaten to tear it apart. The Garou fight against the Wyrm, the destroyer. It is a struggle against nearly insurmountable odds, especially considering the rivalry between many tribes. These rivalries make it almost impossible for the werewolves to present a unified front against a cosmic force that pervades reality.
>From this morass of hatred and mutual betrayal, there is little hope that the Garou can emerge triumphant against a foe so well armed as the Wyrm. The Wyrm promises money, power, sex, and whatever else the heart desires to its followers while the Garou receive no reward for their striving. It drives them deeper and deeper into despair, or into betrayal so deep that they choose to serve the Wyrm instead.

It has nothing to do with the photoshop meme. It has to do with it being an entire army of guys that look the same, and whose shtick is that they have no equipment besides their weapons amd helmets(read: limited details for people to be excited about.). There isn't much to dislike about them, they're just dwarves, with loincloths, and helmets, with axes. Aside from magmadroths(a kit with one pose for the mount) the entire army is a sea of naked dudes, with few details to be excited about.

Late answer, but yes.

Hmmm more control.... more detailed sex mechanics.
Could roll 4 6-sided dice for 5,6,7,8 inches and it plays like blackjack where it's on you if you overshoot and accidentally hit the cervix.
The first roll representing the entrance could be an exception so you don't go 5 inches all in one go. 6-sided dices are the most common.
Then we go into the thrusts which I'll explain a bit later.

Then each girl could have her own UI/chart/page like a miniature snakes & ladders. This is in order to add more personality to each girl with red, blue, green, purple boards, it would basically be its own map, but special in a way with each girl having her own options/buttons to press/rules to roll for. A combination of map + biography. A more advanced decision making game than just "bookworm wants you to shut up during bed or say something intelligent at least"

I think Megaman Battle Network might have a combat map system for this, I wonder if /tg/ made one, surely they made one. That game could easily be a turn-based battleship game just like pokemon mystery dungeon that's inspired from another game that's not real-time combat, just like heroes of might and magic.

Now the thrusting system can be arbitrary or mathematical AND compounded. Arbitrary meaning there's no math involved and math well it's math. Compounded meaning combinations of words/actions like burst thrusts: sudden successive thrusts followed by break in between. Arbitrary would mean you give 1 whole action its separate category and points and rolls without caring how it combines. If you use compounded then you can create a logical "comprehensive" list for the bigbrains who know how to combine magic types // thrusting types together.
Like all magic systems/chemistry systems the challenge is making the reactions interesting and the conditions not require a NASA degree.

Because the golden age of /tg/ is over. It was 2008-2015. That was it. That's when this board had interesting conversations and discussions.

>People posted bullshit stories and they went with them. Nobody really believed those stories happened exactly the way they were told, but we all enjoyed buying into the joke
>Oldfags included GenXers who grew up playing shit like autism table RPGs and AD&D. These people left years ago. They actually had interesting as fuck opinions
>Board wasn't saturated with tr*nnies and f*gs
>Moderation was minimized to true rulebreaking rather than policing rightthink.
>Zoomers have rotten the boards. Millennials might be cringe, but zoomers have zero creative energy our thoughtfulness.
>Not everyone was ironyposting. Far greater proportion of effortposts
>Questthreads shit up the boards for years until they got relegated to /qst/
>We enjoyed trolling off the board, rather than trolling our fellow fa/tg/uys

Genuinely it's the loss of sincerity and rise of irony. The quality of what you post is irrelevant compared to whether or not you might be judged as cringe. Being ironic, apathetic, and critical renders you immune to any potential loss of social value; at the expense of any original thought out of fear that you might say something that draws ridicule.

This isn't rose colored glasses. Read the archives. You'll see "le epic meme" posting, sure. But you'll see much more conversation, storytelling, and even creative endeavors. /tg/ isn't dead, but it's propped up by fewer and fewer of us each year.

Ok real talk. Do you think design choices like this were what ultimately killed AoS? Or were there other factors at play?

Well... bad for gameplay but quite realistic indeed.
still hate it as well. i just hope than in those cases one stabs the other one in the back soon. but that rarely happens befor "you" are ruined.

not saying it's not realistic, but I am saying that I may as well not even play
>>

well it IS stupid but you have the option to bail in those cases right? and yes it is shit to play and not to play in those situations.

voluntarily bottling after trying your best and cutting your losses is one thing, doing so on turn 1 after realizing there is no realistic way to even have fun is another

Like, the feel of gritty black-and-white screen-printed books. Simple and pulpy with that semi-woodcut-looking art.

Cairn? Shadowdark? Who wins here on aesthetic grounds

bumping with aesthetics.

The dark, inky aesthetic. Touches pushing back the shadow, goblins scurrying around tapping their feet on stone. Black and white

grimy zines, screen-printed blacks, negative space, medieval marginalia energy. Weird ugliness. Brooding. Battered pulp covers energy

too clear and instructional

Broken System. It started the entire osart punk zine format all the shit you like apes badly.
Its hard to find these days, which makes it even morrrre underground.

OSR is a false god. Just play the original games. It isn't hard you just have to know how to read (a tall order for osrtards I know)

bumping with more aesthetic inspiration

great suggestion. is "osart" a term with currency or did you coin it?

>>97176772
I don't care about the game rules. I am here for aesthetics.
