That's another problem. 30-40% chance of success for a "competent" character seems really really low. When I look through the rules, it seems like there are more ways to get bonuses to hit during combat than for bonuses to noncombat skills in peaceful situations, which feels backwards to me.

Indeed, more effort was put into disassembling combat into separate modifiers than into disassembling non-combat activities the same way (as opposed to simply giving a range of total mods and telling the GM to pick).

It'd be my race of choice for a D&D game if it were available, just because I'm a degenerate with terminal bunny-brain. The basic consensus seems to be that they make strong spellcasters and buff/debuff style support because they get Hare Trigger for better initiative and Rabbit Hop which lets them exit melee without provoking attacks of opportunity. OP here. I mentioned the World of Darkness in the opening post and janitors can probably see my posting history and that I've participated in lots of World of Darkness threads. This thread was made to acquire ideas for what a World of Darkness true to the 2020s should like and to be honest, I've actually acquired a few ideas from this thread.

I fully expected it to be full of people insisting that their personal ideologies are the one true counterculture and that's exactly what happened, but there were some worthwhile posts here as well, enough to give me some ideas for a bunch of Vampire the Masquerade subfactions.

I have a bit of an inane question for the peanut gallery. Do you have a favorite thing that you'd never actually play/play as?

For example, I just realized that I really fucking love the Samedi/Cappadocian clan/bloodline of Vampire: The Masquerade.

But I don't think I'd ever consider playing one, and I'd likely opt to play a Malkavian instead under virtually all circumstances, or a Tremere. Samedi doesn't even register on the list of characters I'd like to play, even when I do have concepts I'd include if I were the ST/GM.

An alternate weird history 28mm/32mm tabletop skirmish game still in a pre-release playtesting phase but with the full release slated for this year. Google image search to find a merge of Monica Bellucci and Megan Fox's faces somebody made, there are many because they're rather similar actresses, it looked like an old PhotoShop without the use of AI.
I uploaded it to Sora (ChatGPT), it's actually not a violation of ToS because the merged face isn't a real woman btw, then Remixed it (i.e. edited it) by prompting only once (better than going through many prompts, it stops looking like said actresses) for: blue-green eyes with gold flecks, longer saturated bright red hair, hair covering and hiding both ears, a black fox fur coat, and a faint smug smirk. Incidentally, the smirk made the jaw less manly.
I never tried this before so I needed many attempts to figure out what I want and how to get it.
Again, I only had the pic edited, not generated, also mentioning the names of real people in a prompt is a no no.
Finished by editing the edit with Affinity to adjust contrast, saturation and lighting, the paid version has AI tools but I'm not paying for those.
