Not the most obvious choice but Carrion Crow. Fast on the ground at up to 14 MP, CERPPC+Capacitor gives it AC20 levels of damage at extreme ranges, Twin Heavy Medium lasers discourage close range attacks too. Only problem is that it's insanely valued in BV at 2397.

You can detect its jump signature for a few weeks after it leaves, but it doesn't tell you where it went, and isn't so unique that you'd be able to pick it out again if there's a lot of traffic. If they went to the middle of nowhere and your pursuing ships also got there in time, they could pick up the signature again so you at least know you're on the trail, but it's going to be a crapshoot every time. It's not perfect even if you do find a signature since it only tells you roughly how large the jumpship is. Great if you're after something uniquely small or large, not helpful for everything in the middle.

Wikipedia will get you participants. As for heraldry, it isn’t that common before the 13th C and even then, we rarely know the arms even for big names. There are usually fictive arms for the earlier period made up in the later middle ages, if you aren’t asspained to the Nth degree about historical accuracy.

There is the additional difficulty in that the eastern mediterranean societies the Latins found themselves in did not themselves use arms as in the west, even much later than this - this may have meant that local Latin settlers felt little pressure to take arms as it was not the local ‘fashion’.

Sorry it’s a ballache, but I hope it helps. I think it means that you can actually be quite free in your painting without being implausible or even inaccurate.

At what age do magic users start training in your setting?

Depends. Wizards ideally start as soon as the kid has learned to read and write, while shamans and the like either follow whatever local tradition they might have, or get snatched by fairies and come back as raving magic lunatics two hundred years later. Priests begin training whenever, it doesnt really matter; if you can get a god to think you're his nigga, you get magic powers.

Puckee is a known redditor who has spammed his commissions for 4-5 years as the other anon has pointed out, his threads are all low quality with vague questions just to so he can post his commissions. At one point, he had at least 3 threads up at all times and posted his commissions weekly in various threads. See his "lich" commission he spammed throughout late 2021 to 2022 throughout that year almost weekly.
https://archive.4plebs.org/_/search/image/0uAsjic8baHEf61Jm2Wu6Q%3D%3D/page/4/
He has also spammed his commissions on other threads like the draw thread, trying to pass his paid commissions as fills.
https://desuarchive.org/tg/thread/92628290/#92687500
Anons picked up on his spam in 2022 and he has also infested the character art threads since then, posting at least a few of his commissions in every thread.

Loving playing Snotlings so far. I love having a swarm of the 'worst' players with the lowest strength, worst armor, and a only a sluggish 5 movement. I love being able to reliably dance through defensive screens, attempting fingers crossed throw team mates and bombs, and swarming downed challengers to mercilessly foul. I think the issue would be if a DM did the entire arc all at once rather than do a small piece on occasion to mix characters' special moments with what's going on with the campaign.

I have a bit of an inane question for the peanut gallery. Do you have a favorite thing that you'd never actually play/play as?

For example, I just realized that I really fucking love the Samedi/Cappadocian clan/bloodline of Vampire: The Masquerade.

But I don't think I'd ever consider playing one, and I'd likely opt to play a Malkavian instead under virtually all circumstances, or a Tremere. Samedi doesn't even register on the list of characters I'd like to play, even when I do have concepts I'd include if I were the ST/GM.

What is the counterculture of 2020s, that could be used as the basis for a contemporary countercultural tabletop game?

Take the World of Darkness for example, which was so grounded in the the counterculture of the 90s that it comes across as dated and strange today. How would you update the World of Darkness so that it better represents the counterculture of today?

Nightmare Mode: Talk about more than just politics. There's more to rebellion against the status quo and the prevailing social norm than who you vote for.

I second the other Anon suggesting barbarian. It kind of sucks that you'll be playing an unarmed barbarian but not using the dedicated unarmed instinct (Animal Instinct, which is incredible), but it's not the end of the world. Animal instinct gives you access to damage dice up to two sizes larger than your d6 jaws, which is about +2 damage on average, increasing another die size at level 7, but Dragon Instinct's flat elemental rage damage is reliably higher than Animal Instinct's rage damage bonus, so it sorta evens out. The thing that catches my eye about the Dragonblood ancestry is Tenacious Jaws. Barbarians are good grapplers, especially in a free archetype game where they can easily steal fighter feats, and Tenacious Jaws allows you to blast enemies that you have grappled with your breath weapon and force them to take a result one step lower than their roll. Not only is that incredibly heavy metal (pic related), but it's something you can build around.

For ancestry feats, you're pretty much locked into Draconic Aspect at level 1 to get your jaws, then Breath of the Dragon via the Ancestral Paragon general feat at 3, followed by Tenacious Jaws at 5. Because we're building around the breath, you also 100% want Formidable Breath at 9 to increase the damage die size, and I'd round it out with Deadly Aspect at level 13.

Class feat-wise, I feel like the progression for your free archetype is fighter (to immediately grab Combat Grab and Reactive Strike) into Martial Artist (to grab Follow-up Strike). Key barbarian feats are Dragon's Rage Breath (might as well double up on breath weapons) and Thrash (something to do with your third action when you've got somebody grabbed). Not a bad idea to grab Snagging Strike from fighter at some point too.

I figure the basic idea is Strike/Snagging Strike > Combat Grab > Thrash (on hit) or Follow-up Strike (on miss). If they haven't escaped by your next turn, blast them, then Strike them again. Rinse and repeat.

Not gonna lie, this whole group has been fantastic for translation from the initial lore into PF, the basic guidelines I was given for this one was basically: girl falls into a portal in a cave somewhere, ends up near the River Styx, gets drafted by Psychopomps to guide lost souls to the afterlife.
Like, the build practically writes itself with how it matches up so well, which is a shock since apparently the streamer in question has never done tabletop before.

They're statted kind of pitifully, I think they can only barely damage even a frigate, but once they latch onto your ship there's basically nothing you can do except eat a chunk of damage as you blast it off. That or resolve it narratively, scraping the barnacle off with a nearby asteroid and a good piloting check is neat enough, if excruciatingly anticlimactic.

Vidya. Flocks of them randomly appear as a migratory map hazard, and serve as the naval equivalent of exploding barrels. >>Alien.
>This got flanderized down into "All aliens are ebil, and must be killed on sight or you're a sinner."
Prohibitions on interacting with Xenos were presumably in place during the Great Crusade, since that's when the Imperium started handing out Warrants of Trade. It doesn't make sense to have a license to break a rule unless the rule exists first. That is, of course, different than mandating xenocide, but it does imply the Imperial regarded aliens as a problem pretty much from the beginning.

>around m36 with the official adoption of the Imperial Cult.
You're off by about 4 millennia here. The Ecclesiarchy came into existence around M32, and presumably had to be extremely widespread even before that in order for such a thing to happen. M36 was when it got so corrupt and destructive that the Imperium had a civil war to put limits on it.

Rogue Traders fulfilled a different role in 30k. They were scouts, spreading the good word and reporting back to crusade fleets so they didn't have to go in blind and get their faces eaten. Like a herald if you gave them a small military formation and told them to head west until they found something neat.
>The Ecclesiarchy came into existence around M32
The Temple of the Saviour Emperor came into being during M32, had power struggles with the Administratum, then did a Happening in M36 with Vandire, who started as the High Lord of the Administratum and then coup'd the Ecclesiarchy. The power of two High Lordships is what made Vandire so threatening, and his actual fucking insanity is what made him dangerous. The fallout of the resulting religious schism was seized on as an excuse to shackle the Ecclesiarchy.
It's also important to note that The Howling, an event in 401.M36 which utterly gutted the Imperium's astropaths and cut a great deal many worlds off from the wider Imperium, had a far greater effect on said Imperium's degeneration than the Reign of Blood, which had ended nearly three hundred years beforehand.
None of this, of course, excuses 30k marines using the term 'heretic', because the Siege of Terra concluded in 014.M31.

Rebellions in 40k usually happen on a single world, or within a very limited region, and are often isolated before they can spread.

In Star Wars, the rebels are far weaker than the Empire, but because hyperdrives are easy to obtain and relatively safe, they can carry out guerrilla tactics. By contrast, the Imperium in 40k doesn’t have a rebel problem as severe as the Galactic Empire did, because warp travel is terrible and can't really do it without a Navigator

so if the Imperium ever figures out a truly safe form of faster-than-light travel, it would face horrific rebel problems all across the galaxy.

This logic is backwards, I don't get you.
In SW Rebels are an irrelevant nuisance constantly on the run and unable to hold any ground. Explicitly because Empire can respond to any threat quickly due to fast and reliable FTL method.
Rebellions are far worse in 40k because travel and communication is so shit, slow and unreliable that Imperium can't respond to threats fast enough. Normal rebellions by uppity governors, Genestealer Cults and Chaos happen all the time explicitly because of this. They happen, succeed and then create their own empires. Just like rebellions in real life succeed when empires are far away from source of rebellion and can't respond fast and accurately enough. Most notable example being USA.

Rebels are quite literally a bigger issue in 40k

I think, but can't confirm, that it was hinted at the DAOT having a way better form of FTL travel. Warp travel seems to be the Emperor jury rigging a bunch of left over crap to jump-start the Great Crusade, like how Titans are essentially repurposed Pesticide spray bottles.

I don't think so since part of the fall of humanity was the warp chaos created by slaanesh's imminent birth, which fucked up connections and space travel. At the very least it was still vulnerable to warp fuckery.
Not discounting the men of iron, of course.

I just remember really old lore suggesting it, back in the days when the Emperor was implied to be a disgusting mutant who crawled out of a DAOT lab.

>so if the Imperium ever figures out a truly safe form of faster-than-light travel, it would face horrific rebel problems all across the galaxy
...Why? I don't see the connection between the two.
>da emperor
99% of all humans in the imperium will never do any kind of FTL travel. Short of the FTL travel being zero cost teleportation, any kind of FTL would still be monopolized and controlled by the imperium, becauase they have all the money, resources and military might. Worship of the emperor wouldn't stop either, he would remain a god, he just wouldn't actually be doing anything.

Do the words "Horus Heresy" mean nothing to you?

Definitely sounds like a bar where you could talk shop without being bothered by security forces

Man, it would absolutely suck if there was some kind of miscommunication and the contact was actually waiting at the super tacky and gaudy Hutt Casino on the other side of town

He's the one who established the tradition, tho. Therefore, the best Mandalore.
Also, consider our non-Sith puppet Mandalores:
>Boba Fett
>Din Djarin (maybe)
>Bo-Katan (maybe)
With that competition, Mandalore the Ultimate becomes the clear winner.
