I know, I'm just saying it could be a displacer image. You know, Scruffy might be part displacer beast (and therefore evil). I mean Rich killing a cat? Come on, let's be realistic about this; Belkar already lost a pet, he can't just lose another so soon! (In comic time anyway, it's been 1.5 years since bloodfeast turned to stone.)
>>
>>97349158
With his pet dinosaur stoned, and his pet cat blasphemized, Belkar is left with a pet-sized hole in his heart. Only MitD can fill it.

I think Slasher could work but its not nearly magical enough. Is there any splat that covers minor human infernalists?
>>
>>97349067
I didn't want to do scenes of NPCs standing around drinking while asking "what's the hottest monster you've ever seen? Did you fuck 'em? Did they fuck you?" Most of the published Ashwood material I've read is pretty explicitly that. Compacts and Conspiracies has a bit of flavour text of Ashwood Members hosting a game where they have to knock up or get knocked up by the most dangerous monster. It was easier and a bit more natural for me to represent them a bit flatter in terms of characterisation just to make them a bit stronger.

>>97349170
The Lucifuge is an HtV conspiracy that is comprised of the 666 human descendants of either Satan, Lucifer or non-descript demons. Demons are drawn to them, either to serve or kill them, and the members themselves have hell-powers. I dunno who the characters are the poster was referring to, but it can't hurt.

>>
>>97349170
The thing is, they're normie-adjacent yes but they still have some magical shenanigans going on that can't be quite encapsulated by a Slasher. On top of that, they're just two weirdos and not two serial killers who actively pursue more killing.
>>97349191
No I get it, yeah. Ashwood is certainly a very hedonistic group and I would venture kicking around a zombie in a circle is another part of that hedonism as well on top of players not being overly comfortable with the monster raping. That said though, just like the Drukhari in 40K there's a lot more hedonism you can chase and taboos to break than just raping. Shit like torture machines, skinning, psychological and emotional torment, spiritual defilement. Certainly much more to do than just le rape. I understand you though, I wouldn't want to do those scenes either.

These seem less useful than fine-grain sandpaper. Most modern SLA printers with anti-aliasing can print well enough that you shouldn't be seeing print lines at all. Try adjusting your print settings first, some resins can be used with a very short exposure time per layer.

A thread to talk about minis and games which fall between the cracks, or peoples' homebrew wargames.
The >>>/tg/hwg thread doesn't entertain fantasy (for good reason) and the other threads are locked to more specific games.
This thread isn't tied to a game, a publisher, or a genre, let's just talk about fun wargames. Any scale, any company, any miniatures.

>Examples of games that qualify.
A Song of Ice and Fire, Argatoria, Batman Miniature Game, Carnevale, Conquest: The Last Argument of Kings,
Deadzone, Dragon Rampant, Dropfleet and Dropzone Commander, Freebooter's Fate, Frostgrave, Gaslands, HeroClix,
Kings of War, Maelstrom's Edge, Malifaux, Marvel Crisis Protocol, Masters of the Universe: Battleground, Moonstone,
Oathmark, OnePageRules, Open Combat, RelicBlade, Rumbleslam, SAGA, StarCraft, Stargrave, Sludge, Urban War, Void,

>>
>>97343704
CMoN got hit HARD by tariffs because they were relying on Ponzi-scheme Kickstarter pump-and-dumps. They had to sell off several of their IPs and they posted a massive loss last year, they're almost certainly not going to have enough money to renew the ASoIaF license. Hell, they can barely afford to advertise anymore.

I liked Mk3 very much once my local WMH group agreed to ban theme forces altogether.
Mk4 is decent, especially now that Privateer Press is resting in piss. They even released a physical rulebook for it. The game itself is slightly simpler than it used to be but in my opinion it benefits much from the modern way of writing rules.

NTA but that's good to hear. I picked up the Cryx and just recently the dusk house boxes that make 30 point armies. One caster, one heavy and one light warmachine, save for the one being 2 lights for cryx but you know what I mean.
I'm really excited to teach a friend the game, once it's all painted. Just painted some malifaux today to fight the growing pile of unpainted minis.

What is the counterculture of 2020s, that could be used as the basis for a contemporary countercultural tabletop game?

Take the World of Darkness for example, which was so grounded in the the counterculture of the 90s that it comes across as dated and strange today. How would you update the World of Darkness so that it better represents the counterculture of today?

Nightmare Mode: Talk about more than just politics. There's more to rebellion against the status quo and the prevailing social norm than who you vote for.

Isn't the canon diameter of DS2 about 5 times that of DS1? It's a bit inconsistent since some sources state it's the same size as the original or twice as big, but IIRC the numbers that show up in most later sourcebooks have it be more than twice the diameter of the original.
>>
>>97348244
>At first blush it doesnt sound like a nonsensical claim?
From pretty much everything we see in SW media, not just the films themselves but also novels, games, etc., the ISD is consistently presented as a Very Big Ship. It's larger than anything the Rebellion had and while there are a handful of larger ships (the Executor most obviously, plus a few other super star destroyer designs that have shown up in comics or videogames), those are almost always fleet command ships (aka. the story's BBEG's personal ride that's narratively the final boss of the space battle) and you're almost never going to be seeing more than one at a time. So the idea that the ISD would be the equivalent of an escort ship just doesn't hold water.
You could make an argument for it being the equivalent of a cruiser (big but not the biggest capital ship, designed to project power and operate independently or with a small support squadron for long periods), with the Executor-class being the battleship, though it probably make more sense to treat the ISD as a battleship and the SSD as a bigger battleship. One is the Schanhorst and the other the Tirpitz, if you will.
>>
>>97348752
That’s pretty accurate, I have a copy of the imperial handbook and the book does talk about some fleet formations consisting entirely of a single ISD without any support or escorts.

So if I were to describe the “official” role of an ISD, it would be a heavy cruiser (or possibly battlecruiser)-carrier hybrid ship, much like the Venator before it.

But the scale difference is due in large part to having slightly different overall objectives, the venator was built to fight battles and win wars, and the ISD was built to bully a largely unarmed civilian population (and satisfy some very insecure military commanders).

So with that said, I’d categorize the SSD as: an abomination of engineering. The result of insecure imperial commanders doubling down on their “look as big and intimidating as possible” doctrine when the galaxy stopped buying their crap about how the empire is this “big, scary insurmountable monolithic organization that cannot be beaten” and started openly defying the Galactic Empire.
>>
>>97348244
>I guess I see star destroyers more akin to carriers if anything.
ISDs correspond most closely to "battlecarriers", hybrids of carriers and battleships that never really got popular, though more like a combination of an amphibious assault ship with a battleship than a normal carrier with a battleship. Its main purpose is to blow away enemy capital ships with its big guns. Its secondary purpose is to land troops and provide them with orbital fire support. Its carrier capability exists to support those two missions (though its fighters often end up doing as lot of the real work because no one wants to engage the ISD itself if they can avoid it). There's nothing quite like it IRL - it's basically a single ship trying to fulfill all the specialized roles of a small fleet by itself.
