All previous tiers of moves are still available. If a Pokemon is limited to 4 moves, they can relearn previous tiers of their moves out of battle at no cost.

>>97248602
They all get 200cp for free as well as the 200cp item stipend.
Spending 100cp gives each companion an additional 200cp.
It's basically a 100:1600 ratio of cp spent to total cp gained if you import a full 8 companions.

This is a second OSRG, seperate from the main osrg thread, where you CAN talk about 2e, retroclones, and any osr content you want.
This is different than the regular osrg as due to rampant trolling from a handful of bad actors, discussion is impossible.

If you don't have a lot of faithpoints and they don't regenerate on their own, they can be a great reward for completing the story, if that's the kind of play realy enjoed by players and judje. Fatepoints work even better if the consequences of falling to zero hp range from death to a scar, and with a Fatepoint you not just cancel death, but insteadjust increase the chances of becoming disabled instead of a corpse.
In your case, you could probably make houserule? a simple wound system, that only worked when you spent a faithpoint. Ordinary mortals are guaranteed to die when they fall to zero, but heroes can survive this with a mutilation, gaining the opportunity, if they have too many mutilations, to end their careers by retiring, rather than going straight to the grave.

Only if you insist on putting dykes in your car. It's a miniature wargame with a heavy Mad Max/Death Race flavor that uses Hot Wheels or Matchbox scale cars. Partly an excuse to raid your forgotten beaten up childhood cars, convert them into post-apoc style and give them a new life. The game itself is fun too.
>>
>>97247524
Gaslands has an optional rule where if you and the DM can't decide on the outcome of a rule, it automatically becomes whatever outcome is most destructive for everyone involved.

How you feel about that should let you know how you'll feel about the game as a whole.

i was just thinking on asking if it was possible/if it existed, but more specifically if a racing game could be translated to a ttrpg experience without it losing all the fun of a race.

Welcome to the Old School Renaissance General, the thread dedicated to first-decade, Gygaxian D&D, its faithful modern clones, and content created for use with them. Later editions (2e and newer) should be discussed elsewhere.

Broadly, OSR games encourage a tonal and mechanical fidelity to Dungeons & Dragons played as intended by its creators from 1974 to 1983 — less emphasis on linear adventures and overarching metaplots and a greater emphasis on player agency.

If you are new to the OSR, welcome! Ask us whatever you're curious about: we'll be happy to help you get started. We also have two excellent beginner guides created by Anons with feedback from the thread that you can check for help:

Yeah, Gavin is not good at class design. The Grimalkin's shapeshifting is also notably terrible; the flipping out invisible panic button form is strictly worse than almost any normal combatant, so the only benefit is you heal 2d6 (and then have to run away so you don't lose them again).

I made a one-page "dungeon" for DCC
It's more of a side quest, but feel free to tell me what you think.
It was originally written as a solo thief adventure, but it should work fine with 2 or 3 people as well.

What are examples of kaiju-like monsters in first decade D&D? I'm thinking something less powerful than the tarrasque but more powerful than a Tyrannosaurus rex. Ought to be fun to use them in domain play, if one gives them concrete abilities to damage structures and "mass kill" civilians and standard troops.

>>
>>97248871
That's like asking why a murderer would hide the body of his victim.

Those codices are evidence that Warhammer was once something other than what it is planned to become; generic science-fantasy inclusive noblebright slop.

They can't have anybody allowed to remember.
>>
>>97248874
It did remind me of Stalinist style history erasure. Old codices are historical archives in this context. Comparisons make people ask questions, questions weaken authority. Counter-narratives to the idea of Warhammer™ that they want to sell you must be brutally crushed.

Everyone I know who watches Fatt Coville videos is a fucking terrible GM. I've never fully watched one and I am widely considered the best GM out of all 3 groups I'm part of. I am regularly requested to run campaigns. People borderline fall asleep in the games others run. There's also no tension because they know that these Coville acolytes will fudge rolls until all PCs survive the battle.

If you're a good GM, it's an inmate talent you can hone over time. You're born that way. If you aren't, then no amount of shitty advice is going to make up for your lack of talent. It just is what it is. This idea that everyone should "try" DMing is retarded. The idea that anyone can be good at it? lolno. Its like some fat divorced on who suddenly decides he's gonna become a famous author. Fat chance. Most people fucking suck at GMing. Hell, most of them suck at playing, but at least in that case the game depends less on them.

Yes, I've been there as a player before and this is because I'm an autist that recognizes patterns. But,
>At which point they will never trust you as the GM again
Lolno. The GM has a million ways to "cheat". We're sitting under his roof, at his table, playing a game he's put most of the effort into organizing, and the rules explicitly allow him to do whatever he wants. He wants us to have a good time, we want him to have a good time, and we trust eachother's good intentions with the tools we have rather than expecting the GM will never fudge rolls, which is a stupid thing to single out.

Maybe your group is different and they'll all get turbo butthurt if they think the DM isn't "playing fair" and lets them survive a series of unfortunate rolls or keeps the big bad from dying before he got a turn. If so you have my condolences, but not everyone's group is as cursed as yours.
>>
>>97232246
You're still jealous of Matt Coville, OP? You'll never be as popular as him and get money by GMing, get over It. People just don't like your advice.
>>
>>97232246
>GM advice is useless
Translation: I have not improved even slightly since I first started playing the game. I have a slight amount of natural talent but can't muster up the will or teach myself any discipline with which to cultivate it. Failing is so bitter that I refuse to reflect on my failures and cope by telling myself you can't get better anyways.
>>
>>97248716
Translation: I'm a chin stroking söyfreak in my early 30s who jacks off to /d/ faggotry and considers himself really clever cause he used to browse reddit, but he doesn't actually have any insight, so he just writes long posts that essentially boil down to "no u" with no substance. I can just see you, in your sterile 1 bedroom apartment, with Funko pops lining the walls, reading this, squinting, adjusting your glasses, then starting to type a response to show how smart you are.

There's only four specialists in the team: knife-ritualist, stalker-climber, bruiser, and harpoon-gunner. Out of these, the harpoon-gunner sucks the most; it does not shooting damage and the dragging ability is nothing-burgers. Second worst is the knife-ritualist because keeping one dude as support in an eight member melee team is like leaving a model at home.

The Bruiser is the very good one, the climber-stalker is also good but only outside of close quarters maps.

I refuse to believe Halo Flashpoint is even a 10th as successful as Mantic claims. In terms of online, easy to find metrics it has:

3100 people as part of its sub(P)reddit.
2100 or so people as part of Facebook Groups.
No one discussing it on Twitter gets many likes/comments/retweets.
No one big or well known talks about/plays it on Youtube.

Yet it's one of the fastest growing and more popular tabletop games to come out recently?
I don't buy it.
I don't hate the system, but I am baffled by Mantic's ability to get away with lying about how successful this game is.

He is part of the DAoT humanity rules that usurped the planted from the technologically advanced squids that ruled it prior. Then his people got beat by the Imperium so he holds a grudge against them. But basically augmented human as far as race goes.

Imagine being james workshop and stopping the pdf releases of books and causing a massive inconvenience for your loyal buyerbase just so you can have a go at a handful of pirates on an imageboard. Why is this company so fucking bad?

To play doubles advocate I imagine the profits from the epub versions of the rule books isn't massive given how how they are priced deterring sales. So overall cancelling epub is equates to a cost reduction overall. If epubs were priced at like a quarter of retail physical price I would probably genuinely support them, since it would be cheap enough to be reasonable and also mean I don't have to participate in the FOMO.
