And lastly they showed the starter deck leaders that release along side the new set
>>97342154
>>97342137The game is coming more archetypal. Typically you can build a deck for a new leader with like 80-90% of your cards coming from the set the leader was released in. Caulifla for example in FB08 is 95% Universe 6 cards that all released in that set. If you play a yellow Buu deck most of your deck is going to be Buu cards. But there are decks like yellow Vegeta that is just a pile of good cards that isn't following an archetype. There's definitely nowhere near the amount of keywords as Digimon has though.

Hello anons, how is pf2 these days? I haven't been keeping up with it since slightly before the remaster
>>97337502We are getting out of a lull season. Outside of Battlecry, which was a pretty strong book all things considering, most of 2025 was pretty mid for PF2e content. A lot of "That was a thing" APs, even the big one with Revenge of the Runelords. This year they seem very excited to push out some bigger stuff, like a full dungeon crawl adventure set in Bastionhall or the Hellfire Crisis.Meta-wise, nothing too much of a shakeup has happened since the remaster. Wizard is still hurting but the new Runelord and War Mage options are strong picks. Gunslinger got some significant buffs while Inventor got...not NOTHING, they are definitely impactful, but none that fixes the core issues people have with it. We have to wait 'til next month to see what they do with Psychic and Thaumaturge when they rerelease Dark Archive. And Magus and Summoner was FINALLY confirmed just last night that their remaster will be released with Necromancer and Runesmith in the Gen Con book for this year -- Impossible Magic.
paizo, just make a generic class archetype that can turn any fullcaster into a gish like battle harbinger ffs

>2eSo i was invited to play season of ghosts with free archetype, as i am not wanting to spoil myself i was wondering if anyone could help me settle on which class to playi was thinking a orc base dragonblood. im torn between going for a dragon barbarian for the full dragon theme or going a str melee ranger. With the Draconic codex stuff it would likely be sovereign dragon with the barbarian focusing on unarmed bites/grapples. but ranger also seems easy to fit and slot in narratively

Anons, help me with a question.Unit A is near the Impas. Its front row moves slightly forward. The opponent sees this unit, and their Unit B is on the flank. Then the following happens:1) The opponent charges Unit B onto Unit A.2) Unit B has enough movement to maneuver, and after moving, it finds itself in contact with Unit A, touching the corners of its bases.3) After contact, Unit B turns, ending up in this position.Question: Is this possible? And another question: if there's another unit instead of the Impas, will it just move an inch?
>>97341829Why does an AI piece have an artist's signature on it?
>>97342071Any player that tries to do retarded slimy moves like this that are super unrealistic but technically "allowed" in the rules is a faggot and should not be given the privilege of playing a game with you.
>>97342071even if rules would support the idea that unitA has to move forward to maximise contact to the charged flank, at least in the edition I was most familiar with (I can't be sure tow is worded the same, but it likely is), I'd say the purpose of moving the unit next to the impassable terrain is to cover that flank, and consider it a gamey abuse to argue in favour of such a charge on a small corner.
>>97342146some genuine artworks get an ai makeover to further spread and normalise slop, and the slop's algorithms see that signatures are a common element and so they replicate them.

people just don't have the space they once had. i last played D&D around (effectively) a two-person card table in a cramped 'board game cafe'. 20 years earlier it was on the same fuckhuge workbenches in a warehouse the Warhammer nerds were building entire Minas Tirith cities on.nowadays...that space alone could be an entire flat/bedsit some student would pay to live in. or for a business, that's an INSANE amount of space for storage, whether it's in a shopfront or out back. owners don't have that any more. why would you effectively sublet an area like that for free? because they really like Warhammer...?
Previous thread: >>97215703GURPS is a modular, adaptable system, capable of running a wide range of characters, settings, and play styles, with a level of detail varying from lightweight to completely autistic.Optional rules allow you to emulate different genres with a single system, or even switch genres within a single game.A nearly complete archive of GURPS books can be found by using the image. Never post direct links to the archive anywhere in plain text.If you're wondering where to start:- The Basic Set covers everything, including a lot of optional rules you probably won't use.- A genre guide can be found in the archive, under Unofficial/GURPSgen. It tells you what extra books and articles you may find useful for many common genres.- How To Be a GURPS GM is a good read even for players.- GCS (gurpscharactersheet.com) is an excellent character-builder software, with page references to all the books and the option to export to both Foundry and Fantasy Grounds.Thread question: What are some systems or you would like to include or see included in a campaign, but haven't been able to? They don't have to be the main focus of the game, having them only as something on the side is okay.
>>97341972Parries are not usually subject to encumbrance penalties, and for 'average' fighters (Speed 5, Skill 12) they are generally the highest active defence they have. Armed parries against unarmed attacks are also one of the few ways to get a 'free' attack action. There are many downsides, of course; they quickly stack penalties from multiple attacks, usually get a lesser retreating bonus, risk injury (if unarmed) or weapon breakage, etc.A typical set of defences might be a dodge and retreat against the first attack of the round, a parry against the second, maybe a block against a third, and dodges against all subsequent ones.
>>97341537>How much would the limitation "Limited: bullets" be worth?I think it's more-or-less equivalent to metal piercing attacks, which are officially (Basic Set, p. 46) an 'occasional' threat, granting a -60% limitation. This seems generous, and the GM may instead rule that it is a 'common' source of damage, for a -40% limitation.
>>97342077-40% seems fair.
>>97341972>partyingI'm pretty sure partying is always the best solution. Party hard.
I'm kind of shocked the Gun Fu book still has that classic faux Chinese font. Wouldn't people on the left consider it very racist, despite the fact that it isn't?
What is the counterculture of 2020s, that could be used as the basis for a contemporary countercultural tabletop game?Take the World of Darkness for example, which was so grounded in the the counterculture of the 90s that it comes across as dated and strange today. How would you update the World of Darkness so that it better represents the counterculture of today?Nightmare Mode: Talk about more than just politics. There's more to rebellion against the status quo and the prevailing social norm than who you vote for.
>>97341762who are you talking to, faggot?
The problem is that there is an actual group of people who have their own subculture based around personal expression and the government wants to wipe them out. So there's an obvious correct answer to this question. But it's trans people and a lot of this board has made hating trans people a big part of their personality.

>>97341223Which edition brought that in? Was it an original game FASA rule, part of the rule bloat when the clans dropped, a clickytech thing, or something retarded that Catalyst added on, 'just because'?

>>97341937I've actually seen devs talk in the CGL discord that the heat for standing is going away because no one likes it and it's constantly forgotten about.
>>97342112I kind of do agree with them on that regard. Its mainly a rule that I've found that people who have been playing for decades have never been aware that it exists and if you're encountering rules like that you need to ask yourself should it even exist in the first place? When it is applied it tends to have extremely minimal impact on gameplay as well so that's another factor against it existing.

I think the next revival movement in a sinilar vein to the OSR is going to be 3rd edition focussed. I think that granular, complex build focussed market isnt really served by 5e or pathfinder truly, and theres empty space in the market/community.
>>97334618Because the most effective way to explain a new concept is to compare it to something the listener is already familiar with.
