What is the correct way to handle female priestess? Historically women weren't part of the clergy, so you don't have a lot of references to drawn from in regards to their attitude.
>>97254880>Historically women weren't part of the clergyI didn't realize you were playing in a 1:1 port of our real life history.Fuck right off, you can do whatever you want, it's fantasy, why do you need our permission to have female priests?

>>97263588>>97263605It's more that military hardware in WoD is no joke. Either the were-thing will bounce uselessly off of the tank, or the were-thing will be so absurdly strong that it will take a plot device to kill it and prevent it from mincing the players and everything else before they can even get near the tank.Though you can always come up with your own stats for the tank, so it's got less soak and less armaments.

>>97256295Brah custodes are from like 2015 edition.See the "Brief team summaries" catbox image for what's available. Then look up classified teams
>>97255792Well, theoretically. But if what's protecting them is just the flat roof itself, then anyone with an equivalent or higher vantage point can just counter-target them as if they were out in the open. And while it's usually not enough to have a spotter to target concealed enemies because they'll be hiding behind heavy terrain, vantage is only light, meaning that any team with a readily available seek light option can just shoot it.Plus, they need to get up there. And stay up there. That's both a prerequisite movement to set up the threat, and a limiter on where they can target enemies. Combined with healthy amounts of heavy terrain, it can be surprisingly hard to get a shot that you couldn't instead have gotten from the ground just as well.In practice, high ground is more for use to create area denial and niche situations. A vantage point that actually is as good as all those juicy benefits sound is usually a sign of a poor killzone setup.>>97256295Yeah, custards were outed with the 2024 edition. Not an option without homebrew. Plus, they never made for particularly fun games, the other player just dumped all killing power into one target and then played hide and seek the rest of the game to win on points. If he was interested in them for their elite nature, he could look at: raveners, deathwatch, stealth suits, or wolf scouts. All of those are 5 man teams (though some have an extra pet unit or two). Deathwatch especially are a close likeness to what custodes should have been last edition, and are excellent for a beginner to boot.If it was for a different reason, the OP image that summarizes the teams is probably worth consulting.
>>97256295You could port custards forward with minimal effort, but he should probably just look at one of the other superelite teams like deathwatch or raveners instead

>>97263983Different anon here:It sounds to me like the early game might start off a little slow, or poor luck in your opening hand could cause the equivalent of being mana screwed in Magic. To combat this, you could have a generous mulligan rule, or as an option, you could let players 'go gravedigging' on their turn, sacrificing all other actions to, for example, turn the top 5 cards of their deckinto their graveyard. It kind of reminds me of the 'Exert' rule from the old Highlander TCG. Alternately, you could always just start the game with X amount of cards in your graveyard. I dunno, just a few options to consider.
>>97262944I mean that's fine but I'm definitely not crediting a game with "good art" if that art is just lifted from somewhere else.>>97263005they could have done better. low budget doesn't have to mean bad.
Im out of my depth hereTL;DR Im trying to learn how to run a setting I have no experience with. Looking for setting influence. -I would like some help with this concept, post apocalyptic science fantasy. The idea that the world was propelled forward by magic tremendously, but then cataclysmic events reset civilization, and now were living in the post era. Im used to running Sci-Fi, Cyberpunk, Shadowrun, Lancer, but this new group has requested me to run fantasy for them. I agreed, but I told them I wanted to draw from influences that im familiar with, the closest comparison I can think of is the Televison Show Adventure Time where there was technology and then a fall, and now we have magic and some science tech. Disparate cities and no main governing body. -So, im looking to add to my influence, are there any pre existing settings ? Are there any fun things you've ever wanted to do along these lines ?Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
>>97263658glhf anonlet us know how it goes
>>97263658"Post Apocalyptic Science Fantasy" is basically the origin of the hobby, the perfect setting for dungeon crawling, but has been abandoned in favor of "MCU Avengers in the early Renaissance."Why would we complain about you bringing back kino?
>>97260477>Looking for setting influence.Nausicaa Valley of The Wind, specifically the Manga. And for several good reasons:-One is that they actually had several apocalypses because the first one didn't stick. The first "day of fire" wasn't enough for society to completely collapse, so they ended up having 2 more to really cement it in. -The "hand-me-down" junk yard world has created a believable situation where mixed unit armies of traditional warriors, riflemen, cavalry, and modern artillery and firearms, is a practical response to conditions. High quality ceramics are basically indestructible, but they can't be fabricated, only harvested and recycled, so they make them into high-status armors and weapons. Literally every plane that gets blown up is a permanent loss for a country and a lot of what regular people have to depend upon is based off of low-tech organic resources and cottage companies. -There is magic, technically, in the form of psionics. The series never goes into length about how it works, but it seems to be based off of pro-longed exposure: you hang out with someone who has it, you get attacked, you mutate, etc. It feels more like a muscle or a sense people don't know they have because using it is so uncomfortable. -The only "old high end technology" that's still replicable is the bio-tech stuff (which is a little true to life. Biotech is extremely cheap once standardized). Either because they've become naturalized, or alchemists & chemists of the time earnestly just know how to cultivate those components. There's a Homunculi-type warrior called a Heedra and they literally just grow them from clippings, feed them slop, and control them with a special dog whistle. The Dorok Imperial Family tree is more like a corn stalk: the father made several clones, transplanted his brain in several over 120 years, and raised the extras as sons.
>>97260477>are there any pre existing settings ?Afterglow which is a polish tactics game that had a failed kikestarter campaign for a tabletop adaptation.
>>97260477Palladium's Rifts setting is pretty interesting. Basically humanity entered a technology golden age via a scientific arms race, then a minor nuclear exchange caused magic to re-enter the world along with atlantis which was hogging it all. The sudden magical surge caused portals to open at ley line nexus points that let all sorts of aliens, mystical creatures, and alternate universe humans pour into our world.

I want to start playing infinity, whats the army with the bigger boobs? Also, i got the essentials pack and holy shit CB needs to step up their easy of assembly game, thats why infinity is not more popular. I do prefer metal minis tho, i hope the don't transition to plastic or that siocast stuff.
Do any other fa/tg/uys prefer papercraft dungeons and terrain to the plastic stuff?
>>97263756>>>>/po/ is still a thingI had to reread that one three times before i got it.
>>97263893/po/ is so toxic that it killed itself, is what happened.
I like it personally and making a map with a few papercraft objects and character stands is much easier done than figures. It's a lot more delicate though and if one of your players is a IRL Ogre with meat-clamps for hands you won't play long with your stuff. >>97263756Wooden or paper wouldn't be much difference in "sustainability" since a few sheets of paper can yield a lot of objects but wood figurines are much more durable. That being said, proper woodwork is an art in itself and you are probably hard pressed to find people able to craft something half-decent as a figurine. I'm not half bad at diy projects and love working with wood for desks, couches cabinets etc but making a beautiful sculpt is really difficult and takes a lot of time.
>>97263675 I don't really have a preference but some papercraft terrain look pretty nice. I used to have a pretty decent sized collection, haven't looked in /po/ in an age. There were some pretty impressive creations there. One thing about papercraft was that they don't stand up to handling in the long term. I remember seeing someone running a home brew game at a convention ages ago, she put a ton of work into a card/paper town and I'm just imagining the state of those buildings now, if they're even still around.
>>97263738 Certainly not me. Can you imagine the paper cuts?

>>97264370there was one of the old evocator models that used to invoke a symbol of dracothion as one of the bits in the kitits not hyper specific, basically just any noodly dragon design will do, but yeah dracothion is a core part of sigmars mythos so it would make sense to have a city or cult that flies a dracothion symbol on their banners and such
>>97264370any draconic insignia will work

>>97264370I don't think he's got much explicit symbology besides maybe this (rad) artwork of him coiling around this star-halo-circlet thingy, maybe you can adopt that as part of his look. That being said, you can safely assume that any and all draconic imagery of stormcast and CoS are in reference to dracothion, even if indirectly. I think you can pull from that.>>97264427looks pretty cathayan already lol, perfect for op
>>97264370You could say the dragons on the Cathayan models are representative of some offspring of Dracothion's that's more local to where your dudes are from.

>>97261146I'd love to know how you solo Rogue Trader. Seems like it would be a bitch and a half.
Whats the fastest way to start solo rpg ing? Is there a plug and play type pdf or bundle which I can just download and start playing? Without any journalling or ai or none of that gay shit. Sort of like CYOAs and the theatre of the mind roleplaying that comes with mixed with mechanics like fallout the boardgame or slay the spire boardgame solo. Well it doesnt have to be like that, I just want to get my ttrpg quick and I havent found a crpg that scratches that itch
>>97263898If you want a primer on solo-rpg, I'd recommend CRGE.If you just want an all-in-one system you'd probably want Ironsworn or one of it's hacks. If you want something a bit more fast, loose, narrative-based, and setting agnostic Miso RPG or Desired Scenes might help you.If you meant something a bit more structured you could try Hints and Hijinx. If none of that appeals to you you'll have to be more specific.
Is Gurps a good system for Solo play?

>>97264000 The raft serves to expand the footprint that anchors the model. It helps to resist the separation forces and prevent the model from detaching from the build plate. You want to hollow the model not only to save resin, but so that there's less surface sticking to the FEP, making it easier to separate. You'll want a hole on the near side of the build plate so the hollowed area can breath. It's to prevent the suction cup effect.

Dubs and above turn into canon.
Salt is the only substance that can't be affected by magic, thus salt is the only suitable currency, as it can't be multiplied, and certain tests involving charms can prove whether it is real or otherworldly trickery. Salt is also therefore a key component in arts devised to combat heinous magic users.

>>97258165One of the villains in my current desert campaign is like this. I copy/pasted Borak from Exemplars of Evil, but made the dragon a male blue dragon, with the disposition of Jabba the Hutt. He has a harem by which his army of half-blue warriors are created, but his current favorite girl is supposedly the sister of a city lord who employs the players and they're hired to rescue her. Neither the dragon nor the players know the damsel in distress is actually an ancient succubus sent as an emissary of an impossibly old chaos sea beast, and her enslavement to the dragon is the only thing keeping the current rise of demons, undead, and wild magic across the sands from becoming far worse.
