So, I’ve decided for my Triumph and Treachery event I’m going to setup a snack table for my opponents to enjoy. I did this at the Bay Area Open a few years ago and it was a big hit.Since I’m bringing tomb kings, I want to bring foods that are on theme, aka Egyptian. I’m thinking figs and dates, with honey, sesame crackers, a simple spreadable cheese, bread, and nuts. Does anyone have any ideas on what tomb kings may have eaten that can go on my snack table? In b4 sand.
>>97352996Inshallah, i hope it'll all pull itself together once it starts looking like a coherent unit.
>>97352760>>97352834Obviously Reikland is named for the river, but couldn't it also just be named for the province?>>97352785Nice, Did a similar thing with my banners. These are both really old, and I'm going to redo the green one. Sadly it only looks good under bright light, in any setting other than a spot light it just looks a dark indescribable something with yellow trim. Also as german as it is, I don't think the Empire has any wildmen, pretty sure beastmen fill that roll and I don't think anyone idealizes beastmen or use them in their heraldry.
>>97353098Check out the Tasting History with Max Miller channel on youtube. He's got some fantastic recipes from all throughout history and several ancient Egyptian ones, too. Like this one for the spiral bread seen on Egyptian tomb murals.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jLw7lnX868Q
Why doesn't the Old World Builder use the actual faction icons instead of their original donut steel bullshit ones?
Thread #02 Lean Winter on the TundraPrevious Thread: >>97090196Welcome to /un0/, an RP thread for playing a World of Darkness/Chronicles of Darkness Hunter. For any OOC questions about WoD/CofD, check the official general. >>97224887Rules:>We are acephale. There is no storyteller, we are not a quest.>This thread is based primarily but not exclusively in the nWoD/CofD game Hunter: the Vigil. However, Vigil is defined by being highly setting agnostic, with a system for creating entirely custom monsters that do not exist in other WoD/CofD games. Thus, you have significant freedom in what you want to play and what you want to hunt. Feel free to play a member of the Society of Leopold, or a member of the Lucifuge hot on the tail of a Lasombra.>Namefagging is encouraged but by no means mandatory.>Keep in mind that even highly experienced Hunters typically only have fractured pieces of the puzzle, and every table has their own canon. The night is dark and full of misinformation.>/un0/ is conceived of as an experimental end to end encrypted program that is very hard to compromise, retains very little data and purges that data regularly. Please play an actual Hunter.>Spoiler any OOC discussion.Happy hunting. Unless this thread somehow takes off like a rocket, this will be the last un0 thread for the foreseeable future. Towards the end of the thread, please give your feedback in regard to these shorter, limited run RP threads.
Do you give credence to the notion of benign or even benevolent supernaturals?
>>97350957Perhaps in a passive kind of way. Like a bear sharing hunting grounds with a tiger because what they eat are separate concerns.
>>97350957Not for a second. They're as "benevolent" as they need to be in order to fool you.
>>97351514>>97351961So you reject the notion that a supernatural being, even if they began their existence as a normal human being like you or I, could ever be good or even benign? Why? Is there something about being supernatural itself that makes these people become ontologically evil?
[spoilers] So this thread is pretty much done for, what do you guys want to do next? [/spoilers]

Is this real? Lmaoyes, it's unironically canon that that wizards shat themselves in public https://x.com/wizardingworld/status/1081242428105998336It's exactly as canon as Dumbledore being gay, both were revealed by Rowling via lore exposition tweets for some godforsaken reason

Quidditch just needed a time limit, that's it. Rowling claims Quidditch was actually, secretly, knowingly wrong-on-purpose, because sports having nonsensical rules INFURIATES men!

It's cheaper to buy a resin printer and accessories than it is to build a 1k point 40k army. One Page Rules it is. I already have a 3d printer so I think I'm going to print some terrain to see if I like the idea of printing/painting minis before I go crazy buying things.Any recommendations for free terrain models that are fdm friendly? I saw a guy who made 12" square panels with a 6x6 grid on each panel for easy 2" reference/measuring. I didn't mind the look of it but I can see how some people would hate it. What do you think?
>>97350952 It's a decent game, remember to use optional rules like extra actions for a better experience.

You can start a conversation about Fyreslayer Lore, or gameplay, or even painting tips and get lots of organic discussion from me and several other regulars. I don't really care if you've been here longer(do you get a little badge to sew on your campfire blanket or your girl scout hat?) And I'm not particularly concerned that you have no models, I just think it's funny how defensive people are the moment you mention fureslayers being unpopular and yet every single time it's brought up, no models can be posted. I'm allowed to dislike an army, I'm not a retard for having differing tastes to you, but unlike you I'm actually willing to show I care enough about the things I like to go out and buy them. You can stomp your feet that I posted models, but I'm not upset that you didn't post yours, you just kinda did what I thought you'd do which only really hurts your point lmao

Stop looking at fantasy settings and its cultural dialogue through contemporary utilitarian lenses. Your present reasoning and thoughts are a direct result of sociocultural narratives, they're not objectively reasonable or the apex of human thought.

We're going to have to come up with a phrase for the new era of Warhammer 40,000 ushered in by the Amazon TV show, DoW 4 and Total War 40k, and increased market value of Games Workshop.nu40k isn't going to cover it. nu40k is already bad enough for many of us from headier days like 1st through 4th edition. You are going to see horrific debasements to the thing you know and love that you will still see with your eyes closed. Every 80 IQ person with internet access will have an opinion on Warhammer without knowing what a Tau Remora Drone is.
>>97344553the new era came with the gay, dei infested Space marine 2 normies
>>97345269>but i don't believe for a second THIS guy was Just Like Me(TM) at the time.FUCKING THIS!I've watched a bunch of clips of him "nerding out" and am yet to actually see him "nerd out". Everything he's done or said in relation to 40k feels so shallow and artificial, like he has nothing more then surface knowledge of it.Like the group interview where they mention 40k and someone says that they're starting a Necron army and he obviously recognises the word "Necron" as being related to 40k, but doesn't go any further then that. He doesn't ask the guy about his army/planned army or anything. Just goes "Oh, yes Necrons. Good..."And then I compare that to someone like Vin Diesel. There's an interview he did with IGN (I think) where they were asking the cast of one of the Fast and Furious movies what video games they played/were playing. All the girls said shit like angry birds and fruit ninja, the guys were like Fifa and sports games, Paul Walker said COD and Vin started talking about WoW and whether or not there would ever be another MMORPG that would reach the same level as WoW, while obviously trying to hold back from nerding out any more.
>>97346339fallout is a great setting but amazon studios seems to keep hiring writers who do not understand why fans enjoy the games and cannot write within the confines of established lore to save their livesLotR/wheel of time are both bigger sins in my eyes, but all of them have the same fault at their core which is writers that do not understand or care about portraying the setting/lore in an authentic way
>>97344553nu40k is already bad enough for many of us from headier days like 1st through 4th edition.if that's the case will it be meaningfully different?
>>97350583I think the same writers simply change shows every season.I watched Twsited Metal aftyer seeing some Sweet Tooth shorts, and I liked the humour. Holy shit season 1 start decent, but falls in ep4, then ep 6-7-8-9 are enclosed episodes, where the main characters spend most of their time saying 'sorry, mandatory sex scene, and a complete lack of in-universe logic , but at long as women are badass and men as wimps, it keeps getting made.Fallout series is the same, just more crap across the board.Whatver W40K series is made will be the same, the Imperium is bad and all that shit, yet we'll follow Imperials possibly with stereotypical Commissars and other shit. If they go 30k, then it'll be some cheap attempts at grand space opera which will fall flat due to the writers not knowing shit and not being smart.
Thread dedicated to Sci-Fi based discussion. 40k need not apply. [\spoiler]How goes your sci-fi setting, anon? I am currently running a Traveller game in a homebrew setting, and am getting lost in the sauce of stellar physics.
>>97350282I've never been able to find a system with space combat I like, so I'm thinking about a sci-fi setting where "space is boring" i.e. all the adventures happen on planets/at human scale. Aside from "space war is all computers, you either have the capability to punch through enemy pickets or instantly die when you try" is there anything else I could do to help establish this sort of convention?
On the subject of Traveller, how do (you) feel about ansibles? Do you prefer your settings having inconvenient (ie. "slow") communication? Or instant transfer of information regardless of distance?
I've had an idea for a more space oriented cyberpunk game brewing for a while, though I'm reminded now that 2300 exists and while I'm not super familiar with traveller that also seems like an option. So what is trav like?
>>97352667I definitely prefer the thought of a information network time gated by jump mechanics. It can create some very interesting scenarios, and it can give players an actual sort of soft currency of exchanging news when they hit out of the way spots that aren't on the major trade paths
I've been interested in running Stars Without Number in a space frontier like Star Trek TOS
