The US is the world's biggest market but half the population are rabid cultists of Epstein's best friend and so you can't actually say you are raising prices with tariffs because otherwise that part of the population chimps out and boycotts you.
>>
>>97332038
I do have a pile of shame (assembled but like 1/5 painted) but the box is very good for kitbashing characters and I want the blood raven transfer sheet I assume it comes with. And not sure of my hourly work because I work in an unstructured way the involves me playing video games most of the day for about 6 grand a month so I mean, I can afford to just buy the models at GW retail if I wanted. But it feels wrong and I like to save money.

>>97332044
Yea, it probably isn't. I could just get the models I actually want in chinesium for less if the tariffs every relax.

yeah, it could form coalitions with most of the order armies and ally with everything else it couldnt coalition, and the cities also had wildly different playstyles, one was melee, one was a sorcerers council, one was mobile and shooty, another used sylvaneth trails to teleport or deepstrike or something, etc

it was really flexible, fleshed out, and it became the bedrock narratively that the setting was also missing.

i really think if you could point to any one instance of change and say "thats it, thats where age of sigmar started to die" it was the destruction of that battletome, its coalition rules, and the subsequent squatting of its cosmopolitan elements.

Redoing the remaining fatcast is I guess the most likely for 5th edition. As far as I'm aware that's:
-Vanguard raptors
-vanguard crossbows
-vanguard palladors
-vanguard mounted lord guy
-the like 10 dracoth variants
-vandy
-stardrake
And maybe some random heroes I'm forgetting. With vindictors and liberators already thunderstrike'd vanguard raptors seem like the logical "battleline" basic unit troop for stormcast in 5th's starter. Combine with some nu palladors and nu sniper crossbows, a hero or two, and a new semi-centrepiece and that's your stormcast half for 5th.
But yeah at a certain you gotta start putting other armies in these boxes, or they'll have to do a sacrosanct cull every 6 years or so which will destroy people's faith in collecting the army, and therefore render their purpose as an easy starter army moot.

I'm going to cap the technological level at 1453. It's the very end of the Middle Ages with firearms making their true debut in warfare, but also where a great rebirth is just beyond the horizon. The setting's Leonardo is just a little kid, his rise has yet to come but one can see great potential in those like him, their drawings perplexing the older generation who remember the plague and the great wars that left no time for such childish things. PCs however are too busy keeping the Crusader States up.

Adventuring is a hell of a career: chasing desert raiders while somehow deescalating religious tensions between all three major groups. The first are the Outremer: European types that settled in the Holy Land, the second are Christianized Arabs who converted but are ultimately playing second best in a kingdom that's not theirs, and the Ghazi Desert Raider types who still hold to not-Islam. You spend more time doing counter terror operations than slaying Orcs.

So far, three religions are eminent on the map:
>The Apostolic Church: the so called 'White Church' fell behind the First Apostle: Soll, or 'Saul' as he's known in modern common who became the first Pope. They hold that God made the world and left it in the stewardship of the Angels. Entire cathedrals are dedicated to the Archangels and every monastery has an 'alleged' divine patron. Conceptually, God is portrayed as a frequently merciless lawgiver who often gets drawn as holding a burning sword. The White Church managed to make itself the moral authority in its realm, with the Inquisition ruthlessly enforcing the divine law of the angels.
>The Gregorian Church: the Gregorians broke away from the Apostolic early on, becoming the infamous 'Black Church' which is, functionally? Very similar to the White Church. They have monasteries and archpriests with the Exarch functioning as a rival to the Pope. Where they differ is the greater emphasis on the Saints. The portrayal of God is similar to that of the White Church, but here he carries a whip instead of a sword symbolizing God's authoritative nature. The Church is far more decentralized than the White faith with the patriarchs being subservient to the lay nobility.
>Zaranim: the men of the desert. Worship the same God as the other two but differ much in prayer and structure. Women can't be clerics, nor can they be warriors, and only the word of the Zaran is taken as that of God's. Other differences abound as well: instead of angels they venerate a series of prophets, clergymen are always 'subservient' (hahaha) to an (often fanatical) king, and God himself is portrayed as a vengeful flame which is their religious symbol. Non-Believers, to the Zaranim, were created to serve them resulting in the raiders taking slaves and selling them to foreigners.

Nonhumans mostly fall behind foreign, polytheistic faiths.

A few other faiths:
>Draconic Cults: people love dragons, so some people try to become dragons. A leftover of the Golden Emperor, the Inquisition tries and fails to exterminate as Dragons are clearly infernal in origin. Dragon blood has psychedelic properties that, when ingested, makes humans go bonkers. (special class unlocked: Berserker)
>Davidians: the funny men who practice usury and wander the kingdoms. Portray God as being more akin to a professional craftsman with a focus on mathematics and trades work. Only humans may partake of David's covenant as God decreed when he parted the flames. Gnomish influence has led to them becoming penniless. (special class unlocked: Rabbi)
>Gnomish pantheon: gods of money. The Gnomish banking guilds always make sure to have big fuck huge statues of gold gods.
>Dino Fetish Cults: these guys just worship big fucking dinosaurs, or even kaiju, and call it a day. (special class unlocked: beast master- dinosaur specialization)

The Gnomish banking guilds are rapidly becoming one of the most powerful forces on the planet. They fund the numerous wars of the kings and queens while using accumulated wealth to either strengthen or crash markets depending upon their ambitions. Gnomish investments into more private enterprises are starting to threaten the traditional guilds who shackle foreign businessmen in order to keep a grip on their monopoly. In fact, apart of the reason why the Crusader Kingdoms are starting to fall apart is due to the Gnomes seeing more profit potential in the Zaranim slave market and a want for more lax spice trade rules.

The Infernal Cults are everywhere, forever plotting the ruin of God's kingdom and the defilement of creation. They plan to birth what they call the 'Dark Messiah' who will summon his demonic father and destroy the papacy. Their theology centers around Satan being right and God being a short-sighted douchebag with believers trying to make themselves closer to the adversary. Often by fucking demons and creating abominable creatures. Example cults include:

-Luciferan: Satan was the best. Sex, drugs, rock and roll, chaos mutations, torture, murder, disease, magic, whatever. Undivided in giving attention to the Ruinous One.
-Iblisite: Shaitan was right to disobey God. The Djinn were created first! Seeks magical knowledge, one of the great sins amongst the Zaran.
-Cenobite: men who seek sensation. Any kind of sensation and excess.
-Plague Bearers: those who spread disease and filth. Often lepers driven by hatred for a world that rejected them.
-Hell Knights: fallen Paladins who turn to the adversary and seek absolute martial perfection. They love blood, gore, and getting laid.

Be wary faithful. The mark of the Devil lies everywhere and all paths, save the holiest, lead to sin.

I've been playing the Song of Ice and Fire game by CMON and it's been depressing. They've mismanaged their way into losing all their original IPs, and now their big plan for ASOIAF is to fucking gut the best rules of the game so that players will better adhere to the original "vision" the lead developer has for the game, instead of playing the game as it emerged over years of active gaming. The lead developer seems to be retarded, incidentally, and has a pretty stupid vision.

From the previews we've seen, the new box will be nothing more than most likely 6 or 11 CSM models (whatever size the new raptor kit is plus a chaos lord) and 10 sisters, a pair of half-sized playing boards, and the usual bits like the dossier and tokens and cards. It very well might be on the cheaper side, closer to the wolves vs tau box we just had.

New to Warhammer in general, but interested in Kill Team. I have a little bit of casual knowledge of the main game but I'm a bit confused on how the units work in Kill Team.
I've seen conflicting info on whether regular WH40K models and units are compatible with Kill Team or whether you have to buy the special Kill Team packs.
I've also struggled to find info on specific factions, since they seem to be broken up into teams with different names.
>>
>>97331909
each kill team exists on their own. they're typically one or two "regular" kits + an "upgrade sprue", bits only used for the Kill Team. they're compatible with 40k, but the 40k units probably lack some of the special weapons or gear the Kill Team has (which is what the upgrade sprue is for) and may use fewer special weapons per unit (ie your 10 man can have 4 special weapons in KT but only 3 in bighammer)

Not really since it plays out Machinedramon and Kimeramon letting you jogress again if its still your turn.
>>
>>97331160
Sure but the restriction denies any other possible plays which could require two level 6s. I understand it's a roundabout way to ensure the optimal play is Kimeramon/Machinedramon but it is an entirely unneeded restriction at the end of the day.
>>
>>97331332
I don't think there's ever a situation in the Composite build where two Machinedramons would be better than BT19 Kimera and BT18 Machinedramon together (fucking hell those two effects synergize perfectly) but MAYBE if you wanted to run Millie in a DM Kimeramon build and you had an absolutely ridiculous amount of cards in your trash already you'd want to play out two DM Kimeras and Assembly at least one of them. But that's retarded.
>>
>>97331516
Not 2 Machinedramon, but 2 Kimeramon absolutely could be useful.
>play 2 bt19 kimera
>Kimera 1 deletes itself to kill 3 things
>Chitose plays a rookie
>Kimera on delete plays Machinedramon by deleting the level 3
>Machinedramon de-digis board
>Kimera 2 kills Machine to kill 3 things
>Machine DNAs

Now that said, that play would be massive overkill 90% of the time, but it would be nice to have the option.
>>
>>97330059
As a huge DGO fan: no, definitely not. The whole reason this tamer does what it does is that the tempo loss of passing turn without putting a Lucemon in raising or going into Chaos Mode is too detrimental for this deck. DGO has the same level of tempo loss.

What is the counterculture of 2020s, that could be used as the basis for a contemporary countercultural tabletop game?

Take the World of Darkness for example, which was so grounded in the the counterculture of the 90s that it comes across as dated and strange today. How would you update the World of Darkness so that it better represents the counterculture of today?

Nightmare Mode: Talk about more than just politics. There's more to rebellion against the status quo and the prevailing social norm than who you vote for.

There is no more "counterculture" because there is no more monoculture. All cultures got split into a million microcultures, and they stopped really transmitting their culture to the next generation. There isn't enough overlap to get a critical mass of interested passionate people to care about something other than whatever niche distraction.

>What is Trench Crusade?
An alternate weird history 28mm/32mm tabletop skirmish game still in a pre-release playtesting phase but with the full release slated for this year. Based on the art and lore of Mike Franchina, whose illustrations you may have seen floating around on /tg/ for a several years now, and designed by Tuomas Pirinen, one of the original creators of Mordheim. It's grimdark, it's visceral, it's awesome, and it's very Blanchitsu.

>What Trench Crusade is not
TC not an excuse for you to discuss IRL religion, history that didn't occur in the game, culture war shit, or discord bullshit on /tg/. Keep it on topic.

>What's the QRD on the background?
The Knights Templar turned heretic and opened the Gates of Hell when they took Jerusalem during the First Crusade. Over 800 years later the war is still ongoing as technology has developed to a pseudo diesel-punk WW1 standard and a third of Humanity has sided with the Infernal Princes.

>How do I get started?
All the files are free online:

They used to be split between the website and the discord, but no more. For posterity's sake, the old mega will still be kept active even if it's unlikely to need updating: https://mega.nz/folder/70QH0BBa#Eg-blxYQKkY_C02wErnFTQ

Okay that helps a lot. I changed some things around and filled in some names, Thor, Odin, Tyr, and Heimdall are pretty obvious given they have very iconic things to go along with. The others had me a bit stumped and I had to go off a mix of both my own knowledge and how they are usually portrayed/represented.

Now I thought the same but she looked to normal in the first panel but when I half her face covered in the second I figured that was the case.

GURPS is a modular, adaptable system, capable of running a wide range of characters, settings, and play styles, with a level of detail varying from lightweight to completely autistic.
Optional rules allow you to emulate different genres with a single system, or even switch genres within a single game.

A nearly complete archive of GURPS books can be found by using the image. Never post direct links to the archive anywhere in plain text.

If you're wondering where to start:
- The Basic Set covers everything, including a lot of optional rules you probably won't use.
- A genre guide can be found in the archive, under Unofficial/GURPSgen. It tells you what extra books and articles you may find useful for many common genres.
- How To Be a GURPS GM is a good read even for players.
- GCS (gurpscharactersheet.com) is an excellent character-builder software, with page references to all the books and the option to export to both Foundry and Fantasy Grounds.

Thread question: What are some systems or you would like to include or see included in a campaign, but haven't been able to? They don't have to be the main focus of the game, having them only as something on the side is okay.

>I don't like how, certain weapons categories are just better than others.
You're wrong.
Dual-wield has the inherent -1 to defense which no one else has, though it's the most expensive to raise it's also the one who profits the most of Gunslinger. You can have an AP/HP loadout, and with Akimbo shooting perk you're the most maneuverable character in the game.
SMGs with low bulk and rapid fire means you choose the fight better.
Rifles punch the hardest and have excellent Acc.
Shotguns punch the weakest but are the easiest to hit with, and can switch almost instantly to slugs to punch the hardest.
LMGs have the heaviest firepower but you need high ST and money to use them, also we live in a society bottom text.

SMGs are the weakest unless you have high dodge and Tumble everywhere (see Martial Arts). I think rifles with their 5d and RoF 15 or something can't beat a Desert Eagle 4d pi+ in each hand, the shooter adds Acc on every shot, and the target rolls -1 on each defense.

Maybe Action 2 has rules for that I don't remember. I bet 3rd edition Special Ops, Covert Ops, or the WW2-line has something on it too.

If it was at close range (10% of the first range given on the weapon stat) you should have applied the rule for multiplying the damage and opponent DR by 4 at the cost of removing the penalty, which would have done 1-2 damage on average through the vest due to the flexible armor rules, otherwise you should be using random hit location for each pellet. RAW doesn't say anything about hit location on rapid fire for aimed shots but iirc even Kromm uses random hit locations on rapid fire after the initial hit unless the shooter is really stacking bonuses.

If you're asking if it's realistic the inventor of the kevlar vest (GURPS early concealable vest in HT) spent like twenty years shooting himself at point blank range with a and turning to shoot and hit a target he had set up. The damage deformation causes is severely exaggerated by media and even people "in the know" like LEO.

Action 2 has rules for regular drops
I did find spec ops, and it's a familiarity penalty of -5 in that. Which is good enough for me.

>random hit location for each pellet.
>roll and look up a table for 9 hits
very annoying to do, but I guess it makes sense.

But he was using handguns, right? I imagine a shotgun shell full of shot is a bit different.

A standard 2 3/4 inch 00 shell is firing 9 55gr round lead projectiles at ~1300 fps, it's not more energy than the average shot from a handgun.

Least favorite?

Def was not my intention — also what may look gray in the pics is actually a light (sage?) green
>>
>>97331881
Hate to tell you dude, but I got sage bushes in my yard and they have way higher chroma than that.
>>
>>97331915
I avoided a more vibrant green to keep them from looking too much like pumpkins haha
