Had my game.
Celestians performed way better than I expected. The fact that I could easily give them an invulnerable save made them tank hits like champs. Also hitting on 3+ while on melee made thos Eviscerators very consistent. The same could not be said of the Canoness, but their jump pack made them very fast and a result vehicle and Space Marine Raptors where trying to keep their distance from her.
That said 20 zombies eventually will cause her to fail her 2+ saving throw, so lesson learned. She can tarpit guardsmen and marines. Once you go over 10 models that is no go zone.
Deploying on the short end of the table really screw me up. I spend at least 3 turns going 12" inside vehicles just to get close enough to do something while a single destroyed transport could jam up the entire movement phase. Something that usually does not happen in a deployment along the long table edge.
Sentinels and random dudes with missile launchers and grenade launchers really could ruin the day of my AV11 transports

The problem with Mandrakes is that they are a complex and fragile team that need lots of experience to be played well and not explode. So while an experienced Mandrake player Vs an experienced Ravener player is a somewhat fair matchup if you are both new the Mandrake player is probably going to get stomped.

Hard to say if the matchup is fair though. Mandrakes and raveners are both unconventional teams that cirumvent things most teams need to care about, so pitting two against each other will be unpredictable. Maybe mandrakes just won't have the damage output to handle the snakes, maybe the raveners will be countered by not being as effective at zoning against the teleporting edgelords. Should be interesting though.

Man, I don't know why I second guess myself so much on how I paint things.
Recently started a new army, and I find myself not even getting started on some stuff, because I'll need to decide how I'll paint dashboards and things like that.
But if doesn't matter, provided it's consistent or makes sense, so why do I struggle so much?

Currently it's jet bikes and the stuff in the handlebars, and a xiphon, but I've had it with other stuff in the past.

The 3 I mainly play against run Tomb Kings, Wood Elves, and WoC.
I recently played and lost against a different TK player, an Empire player, and a Lizardman player, but unfortunately they're all old fantasy players so they're super busy with families and shit and only play once a month or so.
Personally I prefer competitive games where I get my ass handed to me than casual games were I win, but I understand that's not everyone's thing.

Guilty. I guess I stop doing that if my opponent isn't super experienced with dealing with them.
I don't know if it's competitive, but a block of 20+ thunderers with shields, expeditionary marksmen, Burlock, a Runesmith, and a BsB with a +1 combat res and 5+ ward save rune has been pretty effective, particularly against large targets. I can throw a sapper in there for extra defense too

First time posting on here, so excuse the clumsy nature of this thread.

I've been pretty unsatisfied with how bare bones and downright vacant the Elemental Planes are in traditional Dungeons and Dragons. So I started writing my own additions, which has slowly ballooned out into a much bigger project. Adding not only new locations, but also biomes, creatures, cultures, and ways of life.

In short, aside from showing off what I have so far, I need help. I've pretty much exhausted my pool of knowledge and inspiration and I'm far from done. So I'm throwing my net into this ocean hoping to get new perspectives and ideas that I wouldn't have on my own. I don't just want to make something up just for the hell of it, I want to make something that feels cohesive and plausible given the fantastical elements. Math, Science, History, Obscure Mechanics, One Off Ideas - I want it all.

Yeah, actually I saw your message as I was working on it. The fantasy supplement WILL come, when it is finished --though I don't know when. (And a fantasy rpg afterwards using the same system). Then a sci-fi supplement too.

The best way to support me would be to play the game with others --as I do this as a sort of community project.

Hell yeah. It was a rough and tumble city campaign. I played a champion bar brawler. Big belly with a tattoo of some chump getting his teeth knocked out by a meaty fist on it. Favored small vests, no shirt. I think it would read a bit better if you made the inner spots bigger. Also don't use pure white or black for them, mix a lil of your brown with them. (In general, don't ever use pure white or pure black)

Every time I search for a cool "barbarian" in some RPG, no matter if it's dark fantasy or not, it's always the half-naked dude or chick that looks like he / she has just wake up after an university party.
It gives the same vibes that you get from watching an historical film and for some reason, the filmmakers hate natural colors and must put a filter that ruins your immersion.

I've dealt with a similar fiend at my tables. Unlike what you described and what >>96456003 sounds like though, he was abso-fucking-lutely obnoxious. He wasn't using his dictionary to be helpful, but rather troll and Rules Lawyer. If I were to talk with him in the way that he was trying to set forth from his interactions, I would have to repeat every single previous line I had ever said to him before in a legalese manner. Utter nightmare, but it helped me what to look for when I'm sorting dealing with a Rules Lawyer vs a Rules Autist.
