Might be. I think it's mainly from how the website selling Cryx forces describes their situation as
>"Stirred to rise from its deathly slumber through insidious bargains wrought by the Orgoth, a terrible new power stirs on the edge of the Iron Kingdoms."
Which could either mean they dug up more Orgoth tech, or like how other people are interpreting it to men they made a bargain with the Orgoth Sea Raiders to conquer the mainland together.

There's a ton of lore for MK4, its just all paywalled in the app. Which, I know a lot of people are mad about, but I mean, come on, is paying $15 for a month's access and downloading all the stories any worse than paying for several $15+ books for the stories? Or just do the yearly to get your uber monstrosity and take your time downloading the lore. Still stuck reading off of a screen, which sucks, but better then no lore.

They are. Orgoth killed Blightergast and gave his Anthanc to Toruk as a trade for an alliance.

There are still places to go that aren't immediately dangerous, taverns inns and shops still exist, they're simply more run down and likely to be of ill repute. The whole place isn't a smoking ruin filled with wyrdstone that you battle some dudes over (only most of it), consider the post-game where you explore without incident, go shopping and search for veterans.

>Why don't zombies eat each other?
Depends on the setting. It's usually this:
>>97300650
>They don't register as food to each other.
Because usually, zombies are driven to "eat" living humans as a vector for infection, not as a nutrient source.

This sort of thing is why I realised this inane question threads aren't for any actual purpose, at least not for locals. If you can answer this question with multiple answers yourself already, then you don't need the thread, but if you're a retard and you can't answer the question yourself, then the thread is also redundant because you clearly don't have the mental capability to benefit from the thread anyway. It's like a creative catch 22.

Which then makes me think what is it actually for? Why do people make artificial pointless threads? Training AI? Stealing content for YouTube? Trying to disguise how few of us real posters are left? I can certainly see why most creatives jumped ship years ago.

New year new me edition

>Cyberpunk 2020 vs. Cyberpunk RED?
Cyberpunk 2020 is the second edition of the Cyberpunk TTRPG that focuses on simulation gameplay and has a black trenchcoat aesthetic.

Cyberpunk RED is the fourth edition of the Cyberpunk TTRPG that is set after Cyberpunk 2020 following the Fourth Corporate War, focuses on more balanced gameplay and is more streamlined but has less content.

You can discuss Shadowrun here too because I also feel bad for those guys.

>Everything that you have said regarding it so far has affirmed my concerns that players will bitch and moan about "optional" mechanics at the expense of players who want to actually use these systems.

NTA, but maybe the answer is to cut down on these optional systems if they're causing friction? Red has a problem where it doesn't know if it wants to be a hard, crunch focused game or a loose narrative game and those two design principles often butt heads.

I don't think putting invention in a separate splat is necessary, but it is odd that the Tech has an ability that basically gives the Player carte blanche to break the game when Red is typically very anal about combat balance and all the Tech's other abilities are pretty balanced.

I am not confident you are doing this on purpose so I'm trying not to chew out your entrails, but the answer to the problem of 'people keep wanting to cut systems' being 'you should cut systems' is textbook begging the question and I'm about a minute away from actually fucking tweaking over it.

Without the ability to make new stuff, Tech is just a slow Fixer with a bunch of extra skill points and the ability to fix their armor for a fight and no social skills.
>>
>>97341731
>Without the ability to make new stuff, Tech is just a slow Fixer with a bunch of extra skill points and the ability to fix their armor for a fight and no social skills.
This has a really simple solution: Don't put Tech in core. Only introduce it alongside its complex subsystem.

This Gonk don't crack borgs.

We're going to have to come up with a phrase for the new era of Warhammer 40,000 ushered in by the Amazon TV show, DoW 4 and Total War 40k, and increased market value of Games Workshop.

nu40k isn't going to cover it. nu40k is already bad enough for many of us from headier days like 1st through 4th edition. You are going to see horrific debasements to the thing you know and love that you will still see with your eyes closed. Every 80 IQ person with internet access will have an opinion on Warhammer without knowing what a Tau Remora Drone is.

I feel like Fallout isn't the same thing at all.
Fallout has some lore, some depth and some decent entries but nowhere near the quantity of WH and the last thing hardcore fans of the series genuinely care about came out 15 fucking years ago. Fanbase was barely alive anyway. Bethesda turned the setting it into pretty much a franchise that exists only to push merch and low quality products a long time ago and the TV series was exactly that, also clearly aimed at normie-normies

Meanwhile 40k still has very large, active and alive communities that are going to get flooded and gradually morphed into something largely different. TV show secondaries will probably be largely deflected, but game secondaries from Total War or DoW4 often do try to stick around and get into fandom, despite usually sticking out like a sore thumb

Think about the social standing, clothing they'd like to wear, their colors, the build and height.
You can start with very banal things, for instance, Scarlet:
- takes her nickname from the color of her hair, she is American with Irish ancestry and real name;
- has a history of liking and making heavy metal music, she often wears black;
- has lots of dots in Intimidate and has Staredown as its specialty, her eyes are a rare color;
- she is a Toreador from the Volgirre bloodline, they can fleshcraft, she was always going to look unearthly beautiful with a perfect skin despite her chainsmoking habit, and despite her metalhead origins she had her piercings and tattoos removed before the embrace;
- she has many dots her physical attributes and in Brawl, her body has little fat and she could pass as a kickboxer;
- she is kind of a nouveau riche when you think about it, going from playing in front of a small but dedicated crowd of freaks, to smoking in the face of rich gen Y paypigs

I based her looks on Monica Bellucci and Megan Fox because:
- I like them
- I think they have a mature appeal that matches "what I want from her"
- Fox in particular has a mean stare and scowl
- pronounced cheekbones are recognized as a trait dominant and/or tough people have in either sex, even if they weren't, a softer childish face couldn't fit my idea of her

There's all sorts of things out there.
Even the Loup aren't mere horrors that disdain the Blood for ancient slights, if you ever dream of the wolves, make sure you get you and yours away.

Ancient dead in Egypt, more conventional ghosts, devils, angels that have a disconcerting closeness to those aforementioned devils, things that defy labels and haunt the dark. Remember meeting one nightmare in a corn field that was like... A person without a face. Standing there menacingly.

Fey, or rather, Sidhe? I only knew one person who spoke about them. Teddy, actually. Short Gangrel, frenzies left him with more fur than skin. Apparently after consuming too much blood from inebriated folk down in New Orleans during Mardi Gras he met with a band of dancing frogs who let him into one of their safe havens.

I could inquire for more details? Soon as we have our stay in Washington we'll probably just head south for Oregon where he's in hiding.

I couldn't tell you if any of that was the truth, only that when he was kicked out, he had another frenzy episode and put on even more fur and fangs.

>>97346250
My hot take on fixing it is a bit complicated. First, you have a Maximum ceiling on your power stat, & you have whatever temporary/shifting level your power stat is based on different factors.

Age (as long as you are ACTIVE) will slowly grow your Maximum. Torpor will by the same metric lowers your power stat (but not your Maximum, you can always return to it)

The most known & used way besides age of increasing your power stat is "Blood Patronage" where a powerful vampire can upgrade you to the powerlevel you'd be as if they had embraced you. To translate to VtM terms a 4th generation vampire could perform "Blood Patronage" to an up & coming 7th Gen & they would become a 5th Gen. This encourages Elder dicksucking & the whole top down nature of vampire society.

Another method is pseudo diablerie where you can hunt creatures with higher "power stats" than you & absorb them. This can also let you steal powers & abilities of these creatures. Some vampires like Brujah & Gangrel make a name for themselves, not through patient centuries or sycophant behavior, but from felling shapeshifters or other creatures that roam the night. There's not much difference between this method & diablerie, though the creatures you hunt rarely effect your psyche.

The other method is "Glutting." This is where you pile up more corpses than a cartel hit. If you drain like a hundreds bodies in single night you would also build up your ceiling.

These methods build up your ceiling, but with some meditation or torpor you can lower it. To get back to your ceiling you just need some time/meditation or a lot of blood (though not as much as Glutting) I kind of always think back to movies & whatnot of group waking up an Elder like Viktor in underworld where when he wakes up he's got to take some time & absorb some blood to get back to "normal"

All your examples are from D&D and all your arguments are because D&D 5e did it.

Not really, if anything half the time it makes kemonomimi characters even more annoying than regular beastfolk because they HAVE to overplay the animal meme behavior because otherwise you'd forget they were not human, and that their inhumanity is not even important to their character.

Historian's note: the petrodollar did not, in fact, keep GW's prices at a reasonable level.

Because NoVA (Fairfax, Loudon, Arlington counties) is unironically one of the wealthiest and highest IQ areas in America, with a disproportionate amount of veterans and defense contractors who absolutely fucking love tabletop.

Fucking liar. The price of gas is up nationally 1 quid.

We don't price our gas in "Latin for something." I mean, do you hear us go to London and say "Oi mate, that petrol set me back five more hwathwugus than yesterday"

>Lost Omens: High Seas -- PIRACY! Tied into the Hellfire Crisis storyline, so likely there will also be full naval combat rules.
Oh my god we're getting more pirate lesbians from the Firebrands.

To even make it begin to be worthwhile for casters like Oracle, Animist, or others that get either a Legendary Save or Medium Armor scaling, it would have to be like Path to Perfection: a way to choose your own boosts so that you feel like you have stronger opportunity cost. Furthermore, this gets a bit fucky with Cleric and the Doctrines: would you still get Shield Block and Deadly Simplicity on Warpriest, for example?

This all runs on the idea that a generic gish build is even a good idea in the first place. When a core aspect of the gish fantasy is having UNIQUE ways of meshing the distinct system mechanics together so that you actually feel like a full fantasy and not just a tool. Otherwise just play a martial and grab the spellcasting feats if it just about having valuable options to do on your turn.

For example, because Magus and Necromancer are confirmed to be in the same book, I'm hoping (huffing hard on the copium) that there's a distinct Death Knight CA that combines the two. A Magus wouldn't normally have room in their action econ to be commanding thralls nor a Necromancer have the sturdiness or weapon score to be on the frontlines (inb4 magus defenses, it's still better than playtest Necro). Anything that combines the two would have to make up unique synergies that enable their features, like sacrificing thralls to reup Spellstrike as a free action, or letting anyone standing next to a thrall count as flanked for your magical strikes. These can't be generic powers that a universal gish option can allow, it is most reasonable to be a thing that specific classes can engage with.

Barbarians are really fun to play, although I haven't tried one with the remaster, and grappling as a combat tactic isn't just cool but also useful and goes a long way if properly used in combo with other melees there might be in your party. I'd go for that and

I second the other Anon suggesting barbarian. It kind of sucks that you'll be playing an unarmed barbarian but not using the dedicated unarmed instinct (Animal Instinct, which is incredible), but it's not the end of the world. Animal instinct gives you access to damage dice up to two sizes larger than your d6 jaws, which is about +2 damage on average, increasing another die size at level 7, but Dragon Instinct's flat elemental rage damage is reliably higher than Animal Instinct's rage damage bonus, so it sorta evens out. The thing that catches my eye about the Dragonblood ancestry is Tenacious Jaws. Barbarians are good grapplers, especially in a free archetype game where they can easily steal fighter feats, and Tenacious Jaws allows you to blast enemies that you have grappled with your breath weapon and force them to take a result one step lower than their roll. Not only is that incredibly heavy metal (pic related), but it's something you can build around.

For ancestry feats, you're pretty much locked into Draconic Aspect at level 1 to get your jaws, then Breath of the Dragon via the Ancestral Paragon general feat at 3, followed by Tenacious Jaws at 5. Because we're building around the breath, you also 100% want Formidable Breath at 9 to increase the damage die size, and I'd round it out with Deadly Aspect at level 13.

Class feat-wise, I feel like the progression for your free archetype is fighter (to immediately grab Combat Grab and Reactive Strike) into Martial Artist (to grab Follow-up Strike). Key barbarian feats are Dragon's Rage Breath (might as well double up on breath weapons) and Thrash (something to do with your third action when you've got somebody grabbed). Not a bad idea to grab Snagging Strike from fighter at some point too.

I figure the basic idea is Strike/Snagging Strike > Combat Grab > Thrash (on hit) or Follow-up Strike (on miss). If they haven't escaped by your next turn, blast them, then Strike them again. Rinse and repeat.

They mentioned in a post that the Hellfire Crisis logo shouldnt be on the mockup, its not tied to the whole thing. Just Lost Omens: High Seas.
