Why are they always the weakest class? Why do designers hate them so much?

When the other classes are things like Artisan or Farmer, it doesn't need as much to contribute.
>>
>>96468498
Instead of making the class even more focused around the spell, they should just make that spell a class feature.
Even better, make it so that, like an actual hunter, you can use that feature on a enemy by finding its tracks, so then the ability to follow them perfectly or any other utility benefits would actually have a function.

As it stands, the spell makes you deal extra damage, and then if your target doesn't die and somehow escapes, you're better at tracking them for 1 hour.

It is dumb that they made them into spells but restrict them to only being accessible by the particular classes that use them. Not like it makes any difference if the text is in the class list.

As for the second bit, that goes for all the classes. Their presumed "base" subclasses should just be built into the base class itself.

As for other stuff to give Ranger aside from more ways to use Hunter's Mark. I would say unique ways of using certain fighting styles that uniquely fit them but that would require overhauling all the fighting styles (because they are shit) and creating several pages of unique abilities for each ones, which should be fine considering how many pages they waste on redundant spells.

Their beast companion is just a modified familiar. There is not special reason it should work differently other than not being as frail as a wizard's familiar. I would opt to just get rid of beast master or make it modify your familiar.

The only acceptable magic element are Fire, Water, Air, Earth, and Aether.
These elements have been a staple for thousands of years across every civilization in history.
From the americas to Europe to Asia.
Using anything else stupid.

This anon put it best >>96463077
>Aether is the greek duct tape element
Aether is supposed to be everything the other 4 elements are not.

Kinda makes sense why it doesnt really work as an element anymore, we studied reality more and discovered that Aether was more than just 1 thing. Now we know its got Light and Void and Gravity and Time and whatever else
>>
>>96463149
And that is exactly why Aether doesn't work. If elements are literally elemental, then there can't be a fifth "misc." element that's for a bunch of other stuff, it only tells you your elements aren't complete and those in the bin need to be sorted as well.
>>
>>96462373
Yeah literal reality warping should not be accessible. Why I don’t let players take the more broken spells.
>>
>>96463149
That's just as true for every other element. Air is made up of component gases, Earth is made up of different metals and minerals. Only Water really has a pure form that we can talk about but it's not actually elemental because it can be deconstructed into hydrogen and oxygen.

The fact you can't imagine Aether in the modern world, but can for the other 4 elements, is a failure of both your understanding and imagination.

Gubat Banwa has excellent combat
>>

I wonder if it is that they want to play Marvel super heroes and they want the system to legitimise this style of fantasy. Or perhaps it's that these systems are needlessly complex, and so "figuring them out" takes a while, and eventually when they reach the end of their journey and understand them, they'll move on to the next system that is needlessly complex. Who knows? All I know is that 4e rising from its grave is a sick joke.

It certainly does slow down a lot if you play out everything in detail. Personally, I use a slightly modified version of the "One-Man Armies" optional rule from GURPS Supers.
Basically, a number of fighters on one side of a conflict can combine all their attacks into one Attack roll, with a bonus to hit depending on the number of attacks. The margin of success on the roll then determines the number of attacks that actually hit. The defender(s) then make a single Defense roll to avoid all of the attacks, with their margin of success determining how many attacks are avoided.
Most NPCs are treated as mooks, dying in one hit, which speeds things up even more. But if the exact damage is important, then make one damage roll, subtract DR, then multiply the penetrating damage for the number of attacks. In any case where skill levels, damage, or DR differ, use the approximate average.
This lets me quickly resolve combat between dozens of fighters in about as much time as it takes for one PC to resolve his turn, all without sacrificing too much detail to abstraction.

>For the emperor
>The emperor protects
How do 40k fans actually have the guts to spill out and larp about stuff like this when it's completely contradictory to what the setting stands for?
You aren't fighting for the emperor, he's a corpse, you're fighting for mcbureocrat shecklethief, goldlord eatsalot, royalfuck richbourbon and corruptatron 9000. The entire setting is not about humanity's fight but about humanity being fucked in the ass by a couple elites.
Pro imperium thought is genuinely a unfathomable concept to me aside from people projecting their personal political preferences to try and make the "fascist" (obviously not fascist) imperium fit their idea of mankind's noble last stand instead of shecklethief's feudal space fiefdom. It's ok if you're like "hell yeah this sucks that's retarded and awesome" but many people seem to think it's perfectly justifiable to fight for "mankind" while some nobles live in palaces made out of solid gold.
"But it's our only choice agains't xenos and chaos"
Well scrubbing off some of the luxury from the planetary governor's palace and giving it to the astra militarum regiments would surely help things a lot but no one seems to think there might be better ways to fight off agains't shit. That and the imperium perpetuates chaos, without it chaos wouldn't spread, 90% of all chaos followers are from imperial origin and their greatest princes are supersoldiers made by them

Two of the High Lords of Terra literally have models (Morven Vahl and Trajann Valoris) and the only reason we don't have three is because Cawl doesn't want the job. Maybe a potential for another one of Lord Solar Leontus gets promoted after his boss got ganked for plotting a coup against Guilliman.

The End and the Death Part 3 states that the combined suffering and negative emotions of the Siege of Terra were sent back to the beginning of the universe during the Emperor and Horus's duel where they were exchanging so much raw psychic power that reality itself shattered on the Vengeful Spirit, giving rise to the primordial entities of murder, change, and decay in the Warp. So yes, the Siege of Terra created Chaos. It's a self-fulfilling prophecy, Chaos created itself, the entire HH series is all about stable causal time paradoxes like this.

>Ironically, I have no clue if with the introduction of Exigent if the canonized "make your own exalted" is actually the best now.
Exigents are notorious for killing the "X in Exalted" discussions in other places to the point people avoid mentioning them; since they end the debate, don't compare themes and don't help people porting X.

>Why would people enjoy waifus? I don't get it!
But yeah in general most men are interested in women and the differences between exalted do bring different flavors of possible waifus.
As for exigents they are basically either pick one of the OCs like Janest to waifu or build your own perfect waifu with powers like "She gets to reroll ones when she does something to enforce her intimacy of love towards me" or other stuff like that.
In general the OG exalted are much more interesting and offer actual room for discussion for example do you value a shape shifting(Lunars) more than hyper competency(Solars) or absolute loyalty(DBs) in a waifu?
>>
>>96468708
Yep exigents are basically an amorphous blob of grey goop compared to the rest of exalted that are more distinct and interesting.

What did you expect? Generative AI can only steal, the only shocking thing is that it's stealing so brazenly here.
It has a very limited pool (it is allowed from) to steal from too. When I was bored I was trying to get it to generate a political drama about a revolution. I've tried it over and over again, with different prompts and frameworks, and it consistently tried to tell the same story - even defying my prompts to pigeonhole characters into the approved tropes.
