I feel like this edition has alot of objectively bad things about it and is absolutely where the alot of worst qualities of current editions showed up. But I feel like I prefer playing this edition compared to a lot of previous editions and 10th edition. Its a weird transitional period where there's still a lot of the old units that haven't been legended yet while still having the fucking Primaris lot. Its strange but I don't feel like I'm missing out on much staying on this edition and playing with friends casually instead of going back to playing the current edition.

I myself am working out how to do this and so far I've mostly come up with the idea that I just remove classes entirely, and give out items, spells and abilities through the story rather than through levelling up. That way they begin with just humans and the complexity stacks slowly and with the use of little cards that describe the new ability and stuff rather than having to deal with the complexity of race and class features from the get-go. Let alone choosing spells to learn/prepare. I'm also hoping it leans more into the RP and utility side of the game, using skills and creative play to solve problems rather than predefined classes.
