>>97207413>being this new
>>97207430Anon is just a hypocrite. If anon actually did proper kitbashing as he claims, his models would not be using those bolters and the shaved off emblems would have been replaced by GSC symbols.Or he would have done the lore accurate thing and just deface and cut up the imperial eagle since GSC want to look like Imperials till the very end so shaving the eagle off would be a strange thing to do.
>>97194500Get all the heroes, get some dogs, hunters > marauders I think.
>>97207554>the shaved off emblems would have been replaced by GSC symbols.lmao do you work for GW Kraków?"Pointless insignia everywhere" is one of the worst elements of GW's modern house style. Except in one product line: Necromunda. Perhaps if you'd assembled Necromunda models you'd know that pretty much all gang weapons are generified.
>>97207612>post GSC>the one non necromunda model lineTalking about bad faith
When did Warhammer go from being a game about making themed armies in cool campaigns into being a sweatlord tournament game where people whine about balance and how your models must be Games Workshop approved with the right weapons and no kitbashing? What even happened to campaign play?
>>97195936>>97195942fucking newfags. the original dumbing down of oldhammer happened in 3E. also the first major price hike. iirc that was when GW was sold off

>>97203248Wait were snaggas part of a conspiracy push or something? I just thought they were a range expansion and nothing more.
>>97206832I unironically heard this from an American blackshirt.
>>97195868it's weird that the designers of warhammer didn't want this at all
Whi built the dungeon?
>>97182523Thousands of years ago, a pre-bronze age group of exiles were burying their king and, during his funeral, the queen witnessed a falling star cross the sky and land in the mountains. Taking this as a divine omen, she led her people in pursuit of it. There they found a mountain, split open by the falling star which had buried itself deep inside. Crawling down through the hole it made the disovered a massive stone of some unknown material. That night the queen beheld a vision in her dreams of a great unknown sea in a land with no stars or moon or land in sight, and when she awoke the next morning water the fallen star was weeping water, pouring from no possible source. Her people stayed there and build a temple around the fallen star were it laid, taken to worshipping this miraculous source of water and the increasingly complex visions that the queen was having in her dreams. They began to ritualistically imbibe the water from the fallen star, which served to make the queen's visions stronger and allowed her to pull others into her dreams as well. Their aging slowed, and the queen spent more and more time in the dream realm, until one day she stopped waking up at all. But for those of her people who can follow her into the dream, they would still see her in their sleep and carry messages from her back into the waking world. Her soul, no longer bound to her flesh, was becoming something greater than mortal. And as her mind expanded to comprehend the cosmos, she came to understood the danger humanity was in from sources we didn't even know existed. Her followers, no longer completely human, stayed underground longer and longer near the source of their immortality until they could no longer tolerate the sun. Spending their newfound immortality carving out the mountain from within like ants and expanding their temple into a cthonic city over the course of centuries.
>>97203009But as time passed, the less human her followers became. Their bodies twisting into forms adapted to an alien environment on the other side of the star, creatures of the dream. Most of them went mad, or devolved into mindless creatures. The best among them fully joined their queen in her dream realm, to assist in her defense of the world from outside forces. And a few, a precious handful of sorry individuals, were left behind. Inhuman bodies, with intact minds, but unable to cross that finally threshold into the dream. These discarded Keepers remain behind and watch other the slumbering bodies of their ascended brethren, keeping their link to the material world intact in case they ever have need of their mortal shells again. But none of their sleeping comrades have awoken, even briefly, in a very long time. Eventually other humans moved into the mountains, which were now filled with strange creatures or monsters spawned from the transformative influences of the fallen star. A settlement was built near the mountain of the fallen star, and rightly concluding that it was the source of the monsters they hunted, and those people came into conflict with the watchers under the mountain. Some of the Keepers died int he resulting attacks before the invaders were repelled, and the surviving watchers took this warning to heart. The entrances to their necropolis have been sealed, and the outer passages have been filled with cultivated creatures and hazards to take care of trespassers. Now, a long time later, a city has been built atop the mountain of the fallen star, completely ignorant of the vast network of tunnels beneath their feet. The city is full of scholars studying the fantastical flora and fauna that can be found here and nowhere else in the world, with only the most secret of societies among them having any true inclination of the powers behind them. And thats the backstory of the megadungeon in the game I'm running.
>>97202769Realism is so disgusting.
>>97191219those aren't dungeons, those are just... dangerous places. what's the point of saying that they are "dungeons"?
in my last setting dungeons were usually leftover holdouts for bandits, or orcs, or goblins, or kobolds.ruins were a separate thing, usually just full of monsters, and a puzzle or two, maybe a giant ancient automaton.but a dungeon was a trap filled slog, usually with very few wild creatures, but a few well designed combat zones that favoured the defenders.they could be built into a cave, or into some ruins, but a dungeon had to be BUILT, usually by the folk who hid there gold/loot there.
Men who make/roleplay female characters, why do you? Why do you think it bothers /tg/ so much?>inb4 I don't because I'm not a faggut, hurr durr

>tree spiritis really fucking hate the wood elves I mean I can understand some degree of hate from a portion of the tree sprits, but it seems like the trees that do like them mostly just tolerate welves for the most part. this seems kinda dumb.
>>97207596They literally walked onto their lawn and act like they own the place.
>>97207596Sheltering the elves tainted and doomed the forest on multiple levels, it's an original sin kind of deal with no baby treesus to deliver the forest in sight or ever.
>>97207596They're just a tool to defend the forest.
>>97207596I think we just don't see or hear about more pro-elf tree spirits and dryads since they are boring and don't add to the faction's inner conflict
Alright, if NOT 5e, what should be babby's first tabletop in 2025+1?
>>97206133People think they're too good for a beginner box because they've played video games and how hard could it be. Same reason people skip fundamentals on pretty much everything, because they think they're better than that and then end up dropping it when things get too difficult.
>>97205876If they are random warhammer person, wrath and glory and soulbound respectfully. Simple as piss systems, that are fun to play for newbies and aren't headache inducing for people who are new to this thing like the d100 ones, you run campaign with one of those, then you can start moving towards d100 ones
>>97207631If you'd ever done board game night where everyone else just "learns as they play", you'd know you're basically playing only 10% of the game as you have to stop and re-explain everything for the fiftieth time to the fuckers who refuse to understand the rules because someone else is keeping track of that shit. And with the amount of book-keeping in most rpgs, it's exponentially worse.
Basic Fantasy and Cepheus Engine. One's class-based, fantasy, d20. The other is skill-based, sci-fi, d6. Both are free. Try both. That gives you a range of experiences for what an RPG is. Then pick what you like or the best mix and run that.
>>97206188>Ask me how I know you're a no games5Efags are some of the only people on this board who actually play their game though, lol
Welcome to the Old School Renaissance General, the thread dedicated to first-decade, Gygaxian D&D, its faithful modern clones, and content created for use with them. Later editions (2e and newer) should be discussed elsewhere.Broadly, OSR games encourage a tonal and mechanical fidelity to Dungeons & Dragons played as intended by its creators from 1974 to 1983 — less emphasis on linear adventures and overarching metaplots and a greater emphasis on player agency. If you are new to the OSR, welcome! Ask us whatever you're curious about: we'll be happy to help you get started. We also have two excellent beginner guides created by Anons with feedback from the thread that you can check for help:>n00b DM's Guidehttps://pastebin.com/EVvt6P0B>n00b Player's Handbookhttps://pastebin.com/XALkXkV0>Troves, Resources, Blogs, etc:http://pastebin.com/9fzM6128>Need a starter dungeon? I just had a fantastic session and feel great. DMing may be hard, but it's one of the most rewarding things on the planet. We're playing 3.5 after years of 5e, and we're loving it. It's so much more tactically interesting and enjoyable!
>>97203150Holy shit nice! Yeah, I almost TPK'd theme in Bullywug Gambit when I rebuilt a level 6 cleric into a level 7 druid. But they just barely squeaked out a win.

What "magical realm" and edgy stuff do you like including in your RPGs?For me is forceful genderbending spells that can't be undone.

>Decide whether the game is within the "main universe" or a separate universe like the disaster that was Danganronpa v3: Killing Harmony.>You need about 20 players.>You have to kill almost all the players, and of those you kill, half have to be murder victims, and the other half have to be judged guilty by the other players and executed.>You have to invent a whole jumble of obstacles for the clue and evidence search phase to discover the culprit.>And the trial phase, oh my god, the trial phase must be mental torture for the DMs, or in this case, I should say... the MMs (Masterminds), and if they've played the Danganronpa games, they'll understand, all the adjustments they'll have to make so that each trial is different from the last.
>>97200129Why not 1 case, predetermined killer and victim, set life period (or none at all), set clues, set amount of debate time, and final vote. Number of players could be from 5 to 15.That seems pretty manageable to me provided players don't get distracted
Do you realize that the only talent that could never be accepted in Danganronpa would be the "Ultimate Escapist" talent?Because if they manage to escape, they would help everyone else escape the murder game too. And if they don't manage to escape, they would be seen as the student with the most fake talent of all, even more so than the "Ultimate Heir" and "Ultimate Princess" talents.Unless, of course... the Ultimate Escapist turns out to be the mastermind at the end of the game.
>>97200477Do we all agree that in a scenario where the murder game takes place inside a prison, the "Ultimate Culinary Critic Prisoner" must have as a second talent the "Ultimate Cannibal Prisoner"?
>>97200533>set many years in the futureIn the future of OUR world, the real world where Danganronpa is a video game series (which at some point made the jump into a real survival game with real people).Of course, there is a small implication that this too is a lie, but that would make the entire final chapter a waste of time. V3 was a fucking mistake.
>>97200129>20 players.I imagine it would have to be play-by-post at that scale, you reminded me of a pure-roleplay version that seemed to work:https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Roleplay/DoubtAcademy(I never actually managed to read the blogs, most of them seem to be deleted.)There's also stuff like the 'Survival of the Fittest' forum if you know what that is.I imagine you would be running it like a GMed game of Mafia stapled to a ruleset like Fate, where you could just pick the aspect 'SHSL Forester' and argue when it would be a boon to a diceroll.I feel like the biggest pains would be keeping everyone synced in time and getting a way to keep info between a player and the GM.I think a fair few VTTs let you send hidden messages and rolls but time management is up to the GM, you might end up running big chunks of the game in Dungeon Turns.
