>>729072616>what is wrong with vgchartz again? One two punch of (by their own admission) extrapolating the sales of Spain alone onto the entirety of the continent and regularly overestimating the sales of every system they "track," sometimes by a factor of two and to the extent that their sales by region don't equate to their worldwide totalsThe only group amongst whom VGchartz is treated with any credence is people looking to reinforce their confirmation bias

If Nerevar was turned into a bonewalker after his death, and his bonewalker is still around during TES III, how would he have been able to reincarnate?
>>729103957Towers lore is pretty simple. The aedra created Adamantia and it binds the creation of Nirn. Lorkhan’s Heart was thrown to Nirn, where it landed created Red Mountain, giving Nirn its divinity and rendering it immortal. The Elves saw these towers and how they shaped creation and decided to build their own, but the fact that they built many was proof that they were no longer the same elves.Basically the original racial split of the elves is found in their Towers. The elves built these towers as their method of shaping the world through their own eyes. The literal personification of their cultural lense.

We need to ban gacha now. Real otaku games are being suffocated by these shitty FOMO-driven GaaS slot machine simulators monopolizing otaku spending. Gacha has an objectively negative impact on the market just by its existence, as it incentivizes a "race to the bottom" as everyone else is forced to adopt similar predatory monetization models just to keep up. This is not a moralfagging thing; gacha objectively lowers the standards for real games everywhere by being so much more successful for so much less effort in providing a good product. There is zero benefit to allowing it to stay and many benefits to getting rid of it like a cheater in a board game. During the Vita era, this stuff sold like 50k just in Japan. You can't blame everything on Sony/Nintendo/Steam censoring these games for their failure; because gacha has captured the Japanese market almost completely, these games which used to be made entirely for the domestic audience now have to look west to survive, and that means going through western cultural commissars. Gacha is as much to blame for the downfall of retail otaku games as platform censorship, an uncomfortable truth too many self-proclaimed otakus and defenders of these games are not willing to admit.
>>729093523>gachaWhat now?
>>729103425>descriptions of cannibalism removedThey censored the the incident where a woman chewed her own hand and choked on her own bones?

>BTFO of the entire industry by answering a question and saying Video Games aren't art>Every western dev spends years trying to refute him >Shigeru Miyamoto says he agrees with Ebert and causes even more butthurt>Dies months before the cinematic craze started taking over gaming>Causes the entire western industry to pivot into making movie games and desperately try to have video games acknowledged as more than just a hobby for children How the fuck did this one critic cause all of this?
>>729104864It's not a black and white thing, and I'll even give the exception often intentionally ignored to perpetuate this tired "discussion", but one of the strongest reasons I now lean more to Ebert's side overall is because after reading his article about people submitting examples which kept making the fundamental mistake of being mostly about visuals, story or writing strength I've seen many more people since continue to do the same fucking thing, over and over again.I won't say you can just wholesale rip the select scenes, upload it to Youtube and get the same impression as if you were to play the games, most of them anyway, but the point remains if your best impression of a game's strength as art is from text like a book or cutscenes like animation you are inadvertently substantiating his point that the game part is more a side than a main.Like if you were playing some promotional phone during a break between watching a series, the phone game doesn't become elevated from that.Anyway, the exception is stuff like Cosmology of Kyoto where the game proves its art by integrating the choices the player makes with the history and folklore. It's mostly point and click but where you go, who you speak with, what you say, what you do, all that is at once presentation and interaction. If more movie games did that then video games would have more modern examples of an art form, but that sort of thing takes knowledge, creativity and effort whereas it's easier to just churn out a "cinematic experience".Damn shame.
>>729107113Being rushed doesn't mean it's made without care. Some books of Kafka are unfinished
is this pic art?
The same people that call games art are the same type of people that refuse to play the original version of games since they are "outdated" and need to be remade for "modern audiences".Only pseudo-intellectuals feel the need to elevate video games (that they don't even play) to the level of art. Imagine if people were trying to elevate marvel comic books to the same level as a Dostoevsky novel.
>>729104864Can the whole be less than the sum of its parts? Modern video games employ composers for music, visual artists for character designs, writers for storytelling, directors for cutscenes, etc. Each individual element would be instantly recognized as art, but put them all together and suddenly they cease to be art? A strange view on the matter.
>we heard you like this character>would be a real shame if we retconned him into a degenerate twinkfucker in the DLC
>miquella riding torrent in the promo art>zero connection between them in the actual dlcI'm sick of from cutting all the good content last minute
What really gets me is that it's pretty obvious that it was originally supposed to be Godwyn, even going by the base gameThink about it. Why would Mogh call it the "Moghwyn" dynasty?Mogh+Godwyn=MoghwynAnd then Mogh's involvement would've made a lot more sense. Godwyn was his brother, so it would make more sense for Mogh to be on board with sacrificing himself to save his golden brotherNot to mention all of the eclipse shit and Miquella's eclipse eyes, but that's been retreaded a thousand times
The worst thing is that Radahn didn't really get the honorable warrior death he wanted. He died a simp for a faggot.
>>729105007Space and time are convoluted :)>>729104028>but Radahn plapping Miquella's bussy is hotIt should have been me damnit.
>make a huge scary dual-wielding boss that is one of the main characters>make him drift around on a horse that looks like a little toy under himI know what the lore explanation is, but it's just a bizarre design choice from a visual perspective
First time ever playing this game. Around 60 hours in, I dont think I am even halfway through. This is just Skyrim but done good.
>>729107238yeah, base game > hearts of stone > blood and wine
>>729107238hearts of stone you can do whenever but you'll wanna be a higher level. save blood & wine for very last because it is geralt's retirement run
>>729106959First DLC is about 10 hours, the others is 3 or 4x that amount. Its about the size of Velen + Novigrad
Velen has incredible atmosphere, loved hem swamps.
>>729102149I think base game can easily tear up 100 hours unless you just speed through the main quest without exploring or delving into the side quests/witcher contracts.
I'm not even bothering to disguise the thread, I hope a gorilla breaks into your house and when you type 911 your phone forces you to solve this retarded nonsense first

>>729107470I don't get it. Are these threads seething just a shitpost then? No way anyone is genuinely that retarded.
>>729107261I don't get how people struggle with these things. You just pick the one most different from the other two. It's dead fucking simple. The only time I ever 'fail' them is when I forget to hit 'next.'
So?Did you get the rank you wanted, anon? And more importantly, did you have FUN?Sonic CrossWorlds thread I guess.
why would they attach this effect to vehicle orientation
>>729106309You're not supposed to see it move. You are completely stationary in the lobby and starting line 99.9% of the time.
>>729106432They also might've been thinking more about cars when they did a lot of the customization stuff, which don't move in anyone's animations as far as I know.
>>729106432Varies by character. I first noticed it because Espio spins his board the same way at the starting line, so you see it every race as him.

Metroid 1 and II are bad cause there’s no gravity suit or gravity suit analog.
>Generative AI has been mainstream for almost 6 years now>0 successful games that integrate it into gameplay naturallyWhat a joke of an industry and don't tell me about some shitty streamer bait games with 0 gameplay that just parses input into GPT
>>729102793>all it will signal to companies is that you are noise to be disregarded.Oh man I don't want that. They definitely take public interests into account now. You're right, we don't want to burn all our good will with corporations. They might start doing things to advance themselves at the expense of normal people.
>>729106476Based
>>729098005/mlp/ has an ai visual novel
>>729104437machine learning and neural networks have also been in use since the early 1900s (yes actually). More importantly once computers started becoming household objects, machine learning really took off. Computer Vision has been studied pretty intensely the past 20 years straight and I don't think China will ever get rid of its surveillance cameras any time soon.neural networks are sticking around forever for sure, they're too broadly useful to go away. Generative AI on the other hand will probably wane in hype over the next fews years, but never be gone forever
Eventually it'll have enough ideas and data to make good things, principally if someone smart is helping it filter thingsIt's like the monkey typing Hamlet, but magnitudes more likely
What happened to boycotting AI games?
>>729086476the consoomer cattle will sell their dignity to eat the slop
Nobody cares when you use Ai to write code. It would be far more interesting to see how consumers react to Ai generated art, music or writing in their games.
>>729107038So in the end it's just because artists think they should be treated differently than everybody else? Like it's a funny South Park skit when the rust belt gets deindustrialized, but when artists lose jobs I should feel sympathy for them?
>>729107038CoDslop cattle didn't care. They still paid $70 plus tip. They hated it. But they paid and it sold gorillions as usual. Fucking consoomers
>>729107298View it from the perspective of the consumer. Does the Ai label negatively impact sales? What's the OP trying to prove?I don't care about your hateboner for artists.
Still the best jrpg of all time.
>>729103009I never asked to be here, idiot.
>>729107164>how the hell you're supposed to know that the key to the temple of the ancients is just randomly in the golden saucerThe game literally tells you
>>729107164
Why is VII the most hyped game of the PS1 trilogy? I won’t deny the dieselpunk setting is cool. But I feel VIII and IX have more interesting ideas going for them.

>>729063519Decent studies. Keep at it man. A combination of studying the style of others, incrementally increasing your anatomy knowledge, picking up new techniques, and polishing what you already have seems to be the way forward.
>>729101590Goatboy the goat. Needs to tone down the lod on those bootyholes thoughTheres also a few characterfags you see here and there. You can always expect them in said character specific threads.
>>729096093Ok, what do you want me to draw?
