I feel like this is a game where you either need a functioning brain or a mod to hold your hand. I’d design such a mod so that trucks can’t drive off roads (which is funny because the truck is literally called “Off-roader”) and electro bola guns are removed from the game. Most of the complaints I see about the gameplay is from people saying the trucks and combat is too easy as if Kojima himself came to their houses and put a gun on their heads and demanded they use the truck and blow gun.

There's a million ways they could end up doing that so there's really not much point in speculating other than for the fun of it. Maybe they'll actually give the tarnished a personality, or it wont even be about the tarnished at all. It could have some existing character as the protagonist and focus on their story, or they could make up someone entirely new. But the fact that the game itself doesn't have a traditional story is the least of their problems. The most difficult thing is just going to be to properly capture the overall tone and atmosphere of the game while still delivering something either coherent or interesting enough to make it worthwhile.
